    The official color is Aegean Blue Metallic. The Sonic Grey Pearl is nice, too, and would be my second choice. I plan to get a Boost Blue Pearl Sport Hatchback in rhe future.
    Watch the videos for this car, you can learn a lot. My friend Jason Miller at 717Project got one just like yours, and has a new Type R, too(10th Generation). He is an enthusiasts and is customizing his.
    I believe the traction control button on the left side of the dashboard has to be depressed for a few seconds to engage or disable.
    Android Auto is the Google counterpart for Apple Carplay.
    You can disable the start and stop each time you start it, or activate Sport mode, but they should be able to disable that in system settings. Maybe in the future.
    The 2.0L N/A engine is 22 less horspower than the 1.5L turbo in the Touring, but is much more reliable, dependable and has more longevity that the turbo as the mileage gets up there. The Sport has the same size wheels/tires, suspension, steering, handling as the Touring sedan.
    The cargo mat and weather mats are good things to have. Wheel locks are a must. Nice black license plate frames and clear covers if allowed where you are. The splash guards look nice on this car. The hood rod has two positions, the upper one to open it more to work on the engine bay, etc.
    The Sport is well equipped without the bells and whistles and things you and I would prefer not to have, like the moonroof, power adjust seats and such. I really like the Bose stereo and wirless charging, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, etc., but I can live without it, and can upgrade the speakers and amp later when I want.
    It's a great car for the price but the Sport Hatchback suits my preference and needs.
    If you don't trash and abuse it, change your oil like you do with good quality synthetic , OEM transmission fluid and coolant and such, like the Corollas, your car should last 300-500K + with the original drivetrain, etc.

    I’ve always owned Honda cars and I get what you mean by not wanting some of the new technology. But it’s all solid in the Honda and you shouldn’t have any issues keeping it long term.

      @@eriksmith7829 And Subaru is pretty good, too, but avoid the 6 cylinder engines, tgeyvseem to have problems with it. The new Nissan pickups are pretty good, but won't lastcas long as Toyota or Ford trucks. The now Ford Maverick is a prwtty nice small truck with the FWD and 2.0L ecoboost turbo with 250 horsepower.
      Avoid the Nissand cars especially with the CVTs.
      Chrysler and GM went downhill, but your 2500 truck is a different animal and builtvway more better as a heavy duty work truck.

    Just bought a silver sport model 3 weeks ago, I love it! Was driving a 99 Corolla before though so yea 😂
    100% agree with you on the auto shut of engine thing when you stop. I turn it off every time I get in the car. Useless in my opinion and definitely will make the starter go out quicker no matter what these engineers say. Just more wear and tear which is how things break eventually.

      This feature should be OFF by default. It could be useful if there is a wreck or bad traffic and you are not moving for long periods of time. But to have it on each time you start the car if baffling. There is a company called Idelstopper that makes a wire harness that you install under then shift console that will default this to off.

    Nice honest review man. I ended up following a reviewer for the first time in 2yrs of watching car reviews because I hate it when these dealers do paid reviews through UA-camrs. They end up misleading us.
    One concern I have though is, I'm really saving up to buy a car for myself. This Civic Sport actually satisfied most of my car needs for now because I always think of second hand value of anything I put my hard earned money into. Thanks for telling us that you guys bought this car because you needed something that is reliable and will last more than 2years.
    I have not owned a car before, not drived any yet but my main concern has always been lighting. I love this sport but it don't have fog lamps and the touring have it but spending over 6000 extra because I want fog lamps is kind of on the high side.
    Since you owned this one and probably have driven it at night, is the lighting nice enough for a 5.3 ft guy like me or should I go for the touring with the dog lamp. ?
    I definitely will be driving any car I buy now for at least 5 years. Thanks man!

    • @eriksmith7829
      @eriksmith7829  Рік тому

      Man I’m sorry I just saw this. The lighting is great. You can always add extra lighting/fog lamps if you wanted. They sell real bright ones on line. I wouldn’t spend $6k on another trim just because of fog lights. It will be the same headlights as on this car (which are great) and you can buy your own extra lights. The Corolla has good lighting too but my understanding is Toyota has less inventory than Honda. Best of luck!

    I was gonna get one of these but wasn’t too happy with the cvt the take off was slow got the Corolla XSE and the CVT has the launch gear, Honda hasn’t made that launch gear a thing yet in there own cvts so it has that lag off the line which i had a car with that and it felt boring. I understand the auto start stop i wouldn’t like either which was another reason i got the corolla which has been out since 2020 which has let its first year issues get fixed and corrected. If i was getting a civic they also need to make the 1.5t an option at least in the sport cause the 2.0 was lacking in power and the 1.5t is better on gas but all in all a good review and the civic is great car.

    I've got a 2018 civic Si that I've had for about 4 or 5 months and I love the car, had a good amount of power though they could have added more for a near $30k car, handling is awesome especially in sport mode, just wish I had a volume knob. I'd love to drive a 2022 si and see how it drives

      @@eriksmith7829 True, but the Corolla and Civic have the best CVT transmission, and your Civic Sport picks up pretty fast and more linear acceleration than the turbo 1.5L. It just as fast or faster than my 1984 Buick GN with the turbo 3.6L V6v turbo snd my 2000 Chevy Impala LS with the N/A 3.6L V6 I had, with with 200 horsepower.
      I will take this and the reliability over the Touring Sedan/Sport Touring Hatchback with the 2.5L turbo.

    im going to buy that car in black, this march, but i don't want them to force add-ons i don't want, the extra thousand bucks seemed unnecessary, but is a lifetime powertrain warranty really worth it? how likely would you need it, i do intend to drive it for many years, atleast 10, so maybe its worth it huh?

    • @eriksmith7829
      @eriksmith7829  2 роки тому +3

      Man Hondas last forever. They are like Toyota. If i had the option I would not have gotten it. Then again, in 2.5 years I will have a 15 year old driving it and it will be going to her. So maybe it’s good I got it lol. But really, the engines last forever as long as you change the oil regularly. The weakest point of the car is the transmission but Honda and Toyota have the best CVT transmissions. So I’m
      Not to worried

      @@eriksmith7829 thx, doing some research you got a lifetime powertrain warranty + extras for $1000, when they generally cost $2900 and that's only for 6 years max, so you actually got a really good deal on those add-ons.

Even if you have to drive 1-2 states away, it’s worth not paying all that extra mark up. There are good dealers out there. Later this week I’m doing an update video on the car.
