  • In this episode of Gear Guide, we'll be looking at 3 different types of drum dampeners.
After you’ve tuned your drum, Finding “that right” sound can be a never ending search. Where do you go from there? So you’ve got your drum tuned to your liking, but there’s still something off. What can you do next? Well, you can look into dampeners.
It’s important to note that there is no remedy for inadequate tuning. Dampeners are great for adjusting the ATTACK, TONE and RESONANCE of your drum. But, if you find yourself using an excessive amount of dampening and still not feeling satisfied with your sound, then you need to seek out a better tuning resource.
We’ll be looking at 3 categories of drum dampeners:
    Gel Based Dampeners
    Non-Gel Based Adhering Dampeners
    Non-Adhering Dampeners
