I'm a 72 year old woman and I just replaced the laces on my Keen sandals perfectly, thanks to you AJ! Didn't even need pliers just pushed down until the cap clicked and had just used the blade of small scissors to open. Now I get to wear my favourite shoes longer! Thank you!
Thanks, our puppy a few years back chewed the top of the laces. Was able to shorten them, now I'm able to tighten them again. I've had these since 2007 and still going. Glad I found this video on UA-cam. Couldn't find anything on Keen's web site, not even replacement laces or parts.
Bought a pair of keens recently and the bungee is way too long. I am glad I found this as it seems I can just remove the mechanism and cut them down then replace it without even unlacing the shoe?
Helpful instructions & demo in the video, BUT... you could really improve this by shooting it again with the KEEN rep wearing a light colored shirt, working on a light colored surface. It is difficult to see what is being done with the small black parts being handled & held in front of the dark background ;)
I have Keen Newport sandals and they’ve lasted me over 12 years with regular use - they’re amazing, but the laces have snapped and I can’t find any new ones. I live in England - can you help please?
I love my newport shoes but the spring lock hasn't held them tight since day one. You need a better design for the tightening process other than those springs. If you think about it, it's no surprise the spring lock doesn't work that well (physics). Salomon has a better lock - I used their shoes for 10 years (4 pairs and never had a lock fail or lace break). The newport are more comfortable as a design than the salomon Techamphibian 3 though. But the Tech breath, dry and grip better.
Doesn't show how to install it on a Keen Newport sandal!? Do you do what he does on the video first and then put it on the shoe?? or do you lace it through the sandal first and then do what he does on the video?
Hard to see against your black t-shirt. Had a lace break right near the clips so thought I'd just shorten it slightly. Tried to open the end doofer up with a flat head screwdriver as advised, but was unsure where to insert the screwdriver and ended up just breaking it. Shit. Bet you can't just get one clip on its own. At least the shoe shop gave me some laces for free so I had a spare one.
The combination of black lace kit parts on a dark table in front of a black t-shirt makes it impossible to see what he's doing. This video isn't helpful at all. I wish I could find a diagram online somewhere.
I have to say, unfortunately, that this film was poorly shot. Some key instructions are off camera, and the model's hands are in front of the shoe parts that we are needing to see. I did figure it out, but please shoot an improved version for everyone's sake. Thank you. I do love my shoes!
These laces are garbage. Don’t buy your kids these shoes the laces came out before he even wore them outside. Their warranty department sent me to this video, which just reinforces how easily these come apart. They should really reconsider this design.

I’m a 34 year old elevator mechanic, wtf are your hands made of, I could not do that to save my life!
@@zachbyron4012 Shame on you LOL (wink). I'm a 73 yr old woman who draws fulltime as per my bird atavar, maybe I have bird claws!
You didnt really show us how to insall it.
But how do you install the laces??? We need to know this. Please make another video.
Thanks for filming that with a black t-shirt as a backdrop 👏👏👏

Thank you. I needed to know how to *undo* the laces and you covered it.

In theory. I have the same problem and can’t get that thing apart. So frustrating.
Great video, but where can I actually buy the replacement lace kit?
This video was much more helpful than the printed instructions that came with the bungee lace replacement kit from Keen.
I've done, it fits me perfectly now, thx alot
Thanks For Your help!
Appreciate it

AGREEEE!
Perfect, thank you
Appreciate this, but your fingers were in front of most of the hardware, so can't see what you are actually doing.
How do you tighten them?, Someone thought it was a good idea to put these horrible laces on utility shoes
Thank you for the video! I just did this and would recommend burning the ends of the cord outside or in a well-ventilated area.
haha just read this after burning the cord in my kitchen!
Do these run small.
Just got some and they are almost too tight to get my foot in.
thank you
A word of advice,Tip: Your Black t-shirt makes it difficult to see what you're doing.

Thanks - informative. Wearing a white shirt on a white table top would make the black plastic pieces more visible. 🙂

RIGHT, Missing a few steps he did not show how to take them apart, unlace them replace and install the caps.

where are these sold? dont see them online
This showed me how to do the hardware, not how to actually get the fat replacement laces through the too small holes on the uneek shoes.
Yeah, The quick lace thing is garbage. Always have to keep retightening. Took the thing off, tied them like normal. Problem solved.
Next time, Please wear a white shirt so that the black toggles are easier to see. Thank you!

Black on black on black. I can't see a thing.

Keen doesn’t have this product anymore.

An idiot might do all this before re-lacing the sandals. Don’t ask me how I know this.
