Your videos are incredible. I am trying to maintain a water property by myself, and the little things I pick up from watching your videos add up and give be a huge boost of confidence to keep going. You have another video talking about putting the fat end of the taper piling in first, to help prevent pulling out. A perfect example, thanks a ton from Michigan.

I appreciate you showing the drama I new all those poles couldn't go in straight

Brezzz 007 Thanks that was just a portion of it I edited a lot of time out we had some real issues with that pole. You’ve got to really compensate for the crooked sides of the poles to make it look straight. We actually moved all three poles on that side again yesterday because I was not happy with the way it looked from the shoreline 🤦🏻‍♂️

I live up by the great lakes in New York lot of small lakes around us. I am putting together a small 30 foot utility barge and I was just curious on if I was to do some piling pounding or posts up here what would the average price be on piling poundings on small docks and Marina docks. that you would recommend TimeWise is it by the hour or do you do it by the piling most of the pilings would be like 4x4s 6x6s maybe 8 in pipe . Any info would be greatly appreciated thank you and enjoy your videos very much

Thanks for watching William and I appreciate your comments. Don’t like discussing prices on here could give my competition in the area and unfair advantage of what I charge. Feel free to email me if you like dalesmarine@gmail.com

I see some some docks have the pilings inside the stringers and decking while others have the pilings outside of the stringers. I see that most of your docks have the pilings on the outside. What's the advantages and disadvantages of each setup?

Sorry I didn’t see your message but yes we do both types as well depending on the situation. Typically would like to pilings on the outside this allows you to moore a boat safely without getting hung up underneath of the stringer on the outside of the Piling.

Can you jet piles in deep clay ?

    • @DaleWHickman

Yes you can it’s just not very fun. It takes a lot of poking with your jet pipe I like to jet a lot of little holes around the diameter of the pole and then try to punch the Piling through it just takes a considerable amount of time. That’s why I love using the vibratory hammer makes things a lot easier but it’s still difficult in Clay

It looks like a time consuming job, but it always looks well worth it in the end also !
