you could look into japanese drugstore "shade/shadow liners” for a freckle pen dupe it’s a super super sheer brown (that’s supposed to mimic a shadow) so it goes on looking like after you’ve already tapped it out kanebo kate, canmake, cezanne are some brands that make this sort of product, and they’re all under 10 usd (at least here in hk)
My sister bought a set of brushes from Morphe and god! They were the most scratchy brushes ever 😟 During a Black Friday sale, I decided to buy some brushes from Sigma and what a difference! They’re soft and make any eyeshadow blend like a dream 😍 I feel you’ll love the E15 brush, Judy! It looks like the one you used to use on your lower lash line, but said it was already discontinued… Was it beauty planet? 🤔 lol I’m sure you’ll love that one!! 😘
@@j.uuuuudy Ohhh I also need a new one cause mine is not as flat as it used to be 😆 I use it pretty much every time I do my makeup 🤭 Btw, Brianna Fox has collaborated on a brush set with Sigma!! Which includes the E15 brush ✨ and the bristles are white this time 🤍 I want the set so badly 🥹 but I have to wait until next month 💸 🤲
OMG yeah Morphe brushes are either great or not. In my experience, the brushes that are sold in store at the Morphe locations are WAY better than the ones they ship out when ordered online. The ones I ordered online were scratchy and just shed like crazy so I tossed them. When I've been in store, the brushes they sell in store (including the same ones I had ordere!) were a totally different quality. I don't know what's that's about but I bought some and they are really good. I had gotten a Beauty Blender on sale for $16USD and honestly, I don't think it's that great? I prefer Real Techniques and ELF makeup sponges, and they are WAY cheaper as well.
Thank you! I love videos like these. An influencer convincing me NOT to buy something for once! Also, I could listen to you talk all day. Love your accent and your soothing tone.
If you shop during a Sigma sale, you can get those brushes for a good price. Two of their liner brushes changed the game for me. Most of my other brushes are from Moda and Omnia (both Royal and Langnickle), affordable and work great.
Hey Judy i know you are in a low buy this year but a suggestion is that it would be interesting for you to look into drag queens makeup brands like trixie cosmetics and kim chi beauty, i think you would identify with some of their products and i have seen many compliments to their formulas, it would be nice to see you dip into that niche!
Omg I’m so sorry that the morphe brushes didn’t live up to the hype for you! I am sooo obsessed with them. I think that my makeup looks 100% better when I apply them with the morphe x Ariel brushes then with any sigma brush. Even though the are amazing quality the way the morphe.l x Ariel brushes apply the makeup is unmatched!
I received my 1st beauty blender in a discounted set. They are super soft but definitely do not work how they should. Yes, they add texture. My favorite sponge I can wash one day and use the next day and it is still damp, I don't have to wet it again. Helps with not creating texture on my face.
yeah, morphe brushes can be scratchy af i think as far as cheaper brushes go, colourpop will always be my personal recommendation (though i know you've recommended them before too) sigma has amazing brushes but can be pricy so when i do buy sigma i do so with only brushes i know i really want/use instead of a pack or something
Literally Colourpop, Elf, Alamar, Real Techniques, and Rare Beauty have the best brushes imo. I have a Fenty brush that works really good as well, the 250 face brush.
I've never tried the Gisou hair oil but the Gisou hair mask is soooo great for my hair personally. Not that many hair masks work for me such as the Briogeo don't despair one. So it was nice to find one that works despite it being so expensive. 😵💸
i saw so many people using those morphe brushes and saying they loved them that i was interested too. but i have some really nice brushes already so wasn’t sure if i’d like them as much. i do love their aesthetic tho.
Hi judy:) I never use my kaja blushes with the stamp...always felt it was too big/awkward/unsanitary🙄 I just dip a brush, sponge or even fingers into the cushion directly, and apply directly to my cheeks! the formula + colors are really nice, but the whole stamp thing just isn't practical for daily use😐 I hope you keep trying them!💜
I agree with Freck. I freaking LOVE Freck though which is kind of why I am on the fence. I love the way my freckles look with it, but I don't know if I use it enough to say it's worth the price tag? I will say the longevity is phenomenal. I love the Morphe x Ariel brushes personally, but you have to be SO careful when washing them though): The fluffy brushes do fray really easily which is why I'm kind of scared to wash them. But I personally find them to be really great shapes & I actually think they're really soft! I just need to find a way to wash them without making them fray so bad.
I get my beauty sponges from either Shop Miss A PawPaw sponges for less than $1 or from Shein for about 36 cents each in a pack of ten with 15%off and free shipping. The last time I bought Beauty Blender brand sponges was 2013 and I got 2 for $18. If I could get that deal today, I'd still choose my cheaper sponges.
I'm trying to grow out my hair too! Have you tried the dae prickly pear hair oil? I heard it smells really good, so I'm planning on picking one up soon ❤Sending you lots of love🥰
I have the freck pen and the dupe Lottie London one and i think they are identical! They work the same and lottie has more product and is only like $8 versus the $22 freck one.
Okay yes I agree on the sigma brushes , they are definitely worth the money . I don’t know if it’s because I have sensitive skin but I’m not a big fan of Morphe brushes. I was gonna give those set of morphe brushes a try because people kept hyping them up. After seeing this video I think imma just save my money and spend the money on some sigma brushes instead ! P.s I love watching your videos :) thank you for this video very much needed.
I actually bought the eye set instead for the big set of the makeup by Ariel brushes and honestly I only use like 3 I think bc the shape is a little too big for the little space of eyelid that I have😅 I still haven't found a way to make them work
I didn't like the gisou hair oil either; for the same reasons but also, if I was too heavy handed with it, the oil would make my hair static-y. It was so weird! Right now, I'm using Ouai and it's okay. Still slowly looking for a good hair oil!
Unfortunately I really like the morphe x Ariel brushes….. 😒 the unfortunate thing about it is, that only a few weeks after starting to love them, I found out that they are not synthetic brushes. Which totally surprised me! I took it for granted, didn’t look it up before buying, because almost everyone produces synthetic brushes these days. Up to this day I don’t know which hair was being used, because it only says „natural hair“. Well i suppose it’s not human hair, must be animal hair. That means they are not cruelty - free 😑 (well 2 brushes out of the bigger collection are synthetic, the rest aren’t)
@@j.uuuuudy unfortunately cruelty- free does not mean vegan 😣 Even tho, if you think about it it’s pretty fucked up. I double checked it again: From the bigger collection, only the foundation- and the double ended concealer brush are synthetic. The rest says „nature“ or „natural“
I’ve been interested in the freck products but wasn’t sure if they were worth the price. I actually got the Jason wu freckle pen and it’s probably my favorite for my skin tone and the use ability of it. Would definitely recommend it!
I think the beauty blender in nude was the only colour that actually works well. I’ve purchased the green one before just bc it was cute but the surface was rough af lmao so I guess I’ll just stick with my real technique sponge lol
Judy, I like those Kaja blushes! I use my fingers to apply: I swipe the product off the heart, and tap out to blend. Maybe that will work out for you, good luck! (But yeah, they are expensive and bulky!)
I'm so thankful I didn't get the Morphe x Ariel brushes. I keep seeing SO MANY of my favourite beauty youtubers use them regularly that I thought "they must be that good to be in constant rotation" but since you and a few other commentors mentioned that 1. They're good but nothing to gush over and 2. Made of animal hair - I'm going to pass. Morphe has a brush set that's of better value and is completely synthetic that I'm considering getting instead of the ariel sets
@@j.uuuuudy Regarding whether a brand can still be cruelty-free while using animal hair - I'm not so sure on that. But what I do know is I didn't know Ariel's sets were majority natural hairs (which I assume is of animal origin) until I saw someone else bring it up in the comments. And true enough, I JUST checked on Morphe AU, his brushes are labelled either natural or synthetic
Interested to hear what beauty sponge you'd recommend. I do have the beauty blender from a share set, so it was less than 50% of the original price, hence why I bought it. But hearing what people have been saying, maybe I should just stick to my barely a dollar iMagic sponges.
I have the beauty blenders from Daiso and they work great for the $1.75 I paid for it. I agree that the overpriced beauty blender is definitely not worth it.
In my opinion, eyeshadows that cost more than a certain amount aren’t worth it. I don't have an exact figure, but more than $65 USD, or even $40 USD for 15 pans are too much.

For a hair oil I recommend using argan or Moroccan oil. I recently got into using hair oil for my ends and they smell really good.
will give them a go after i finish this gisou one!
