    Never heard it in any released Autechre stuff, so I expect it's one of their many unreleased live set works. I'd really like to hear the whole set though, it is a brilliant track.

    Chasbo13, Kraftwerk may be one of the first group of musicians to use all electronic instruments and they may be one of many early electronic music pioneers that inspired Techno/House and other forms of electronic music, but they did not create the form of music in the way we now know it. Detroit Techno/Chicago House is from the Midwest USA ("from the hood"). Most think thay know it, but fall short of what it stands for. It's a spiritual and soulful thing. A way of living.

  • @topheecheesecake

    I don't think so. There are danceable tracks on most Autechre albums until the late 90's, esp. on Incunabula & Tri Repetae but also the Anti EP and tracks such as Second Scepe or Cichlisuite... which came out around the time this video was shot ('96).

  • @topheecheesecake
    @topheecheesecake 16 років тому

    Never proven. The only Red Planet CD "LBH - 6251876" credits Will Thomas as the producer of all tracks (including "Stardancer")

    That's the beauty of techno, its not about rase. its about undiscovered futuristic machines. so stop bitching about black / white / yellow .. please..

    techno it can be argued traces back further than the 50's or 60's to the forties with the likes of schafers radiophonic workshop and stockhausen.

  • @djsintek
    @djsintek 16 років тому

    Larkin is right, techno is black and white so all u people who think differently, open your eyes and enjoy the music!

  • @detroitologist
    @detroitologist 15 років тому +1

    I only spoke with Mike once and rather than talk about music he showed me his muscle car because I come from a family that builds cars I guess and that was what he wanted to talk about. The guy must get tired of talking about techno as if that was all that existed in this world. Look... the auto industry is currently bankrupt and so would Detroit if it wasn't for techno music. Instead of CARS and RIOTS Detroit is now known around the world for techno music. What's so controversial about that?

  • @MrFatRocky
    @MrFatRocky 13 років тому +1

    Kraftwerk is not just sounds , it's electronic funk beats. And Techno is not just Kraftwerk it's also Tangerine Dream , Klaus Schulze, Depeche Mode and many more non African Dudes from that time. Detroit Techno is just one of several styles of electronic music that was created at the time, it has of course black background as many other great music that was made at the time in America.

    Y lo digo en español!!!!
    Pleno siglo 21 y discutiendo esas estupideces si el techno ya sea detroit o no es blanco o negro......por favor!!!!....Asi involucionamos muchachos.yo admiro tanto a jeff mills como a thomas heckmann..me voy a poner a mirar de q color es su piel?.hay referentes en todas partes y lo q inporta es la musica,,,es justamente lo q nos separa de toda la mierda de la sociedad en la q vivimos....discriminacion,injusticia social.usemos la musica para convatir esos problemas:)

  • @genkijin
    @genkijin 15 років тому

    The question of orgin is important. It's a racial thing because in America that's what you are identified by. When people are miseducated about the orgin of Techno, that can determine if they would listen to it. "Oh I'm Black I don't listen to techno, that's white music!" same thing with rock and roll. There was a time when all this music was called JUNGLE MUSIC! so in a sense Techno is electronic jungle music!Don't get it twisted!

    Salsa is not European..look it up.Salsa can be traced back to African slaves in the carribean.StockHausen? Kraftwerk, sure! But we know KW went through a transitional period from experimental to more "techno pop" and what do you think influenced that Kraftwerk? Why do you think they were so funky? If you want to talk about the ROOTS, nobody was beating drums and dancing before AFRICANS! Europeans were playing violens and trumpets.That is European music! C'mon Techno is European?

  • @relaxbeat
    @relaxbeat 14 років тому

    Nice guy ,but dont forget electonic dance music is come from Europe
    .Kraftwerk,Telex ,Giorgio moroder ,Klein & MBO
    Depeche mode ,Cabaret Voltaire ..........
    Manifeste futurisme by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti 1901,is italian
    Detroit techno is just rewriting & remix

  • @MrFatRocky

    All this shit about black or white is to me one more time nonsense stupidity . To beging with I don't even think music is only human or terrestrial , just listen to the stars man ! (without being offensive please)
    Peace!

    OMFG AUTECHRE ALSO TECHNO CAME FROM MONGOLIA SO ALL OF YOU ARE IGNORANT. Seriously if you stop thinking about who made the music and just listen, every other musician in this clip is waaay better than most autechre, although I like some of their stuff too.

  • @OMelomaneO

    I see many black's discrimination against white's on here , electronical music ( that include every kind of machines , synth , drum machine etc... ) have been invented by white people , many of us discovered how to make electronical sounds , then dont come tell me black people invented techno or anything else , black music is in africa with djembes tam tam etc ... here we are talking about INFLUENCES which is totally different , black white asian people make electronical music nothing more
