Seriously, something about his voice is really nice. I could listen to him talk all day about stupid Nintendo stuff, especially since I love stupid Nintendo stuff lol.
I remember asking my mom for a 2ds because of it’s price back in 2013. When I got it on Christmas it was my first gaming console that wasn’t a leapfrog(I had a leapster, leap pad 2, and leap pad ultra when I was younger). I will never forget how fun MK7 was. It was all I had for months and I couldn’t put it down. I wish I could experience that feeling again.
This videos makes me happy, kinda reminds me of the old youtube days, just some dude talking video game stuff with a camera pointing to carpet with some games, ala Tvandlust and finngamer
Let me tell you, Mr. Wozniak, the ability to turn on the TV with the Wii U GamePad was one of the best uses of the GamePad ever conceived. My actual TV remote went missing for well over a year at one point, so the GamePad allowed me to turn it on AND adjust the volume whenever I needed to without having to get up every single time.
I kinda was because the gamepad has never been done before and was probably hard to get the same exact game screen on twi screens. Sales doesn't affect how revolutionary it was. It affects how many people follow it
@@Vitorio582 yes it was the same concept but the Gba as a gamecube controller required an extra cable. The wii U does it wirelessly. The drramcast was just a small black and white screen that displayed images. No where near streaming the whole screen on something. While both were revolutionary in their own ways the wii U is different
This is so nostalgic for me!! Because for Christmas in 2013 when I was 7 I got the WiiU Set with New Super Mario Bros U. And I also got, Super Mario 3D world, Windwaker HD and Disney Infinity. So Seeing all this again fills me with nostalgia.
I loved these booklets as a kid. I have memories of being in Florida every year for the month of December with my parents. Which obviously coincided with these releases. We’d go to malls a lot, so I’d obviously wander to GameStop (eb games at the time!) and I’d grab a booklet and it would be my reading in a time away from computers
I think the one I remember most was from 2004.... maybe 2003? No DS, but very much GameCube and gameboy sp. I think it featured the banjo kazooie gba game. Which I was playing in tandem based on the book and a friend
I still have a Nintedo gift guide from 2003, it's really nice , has nice full page spreads for F-zero GX, Mario Advance 4 , the game boy player and shows off all the games that came out at the time, even the E-Reader is talked about
These chapters, including Brochure, Tropical Freeze and of course, Unimportance, really improve this already top ten tier video overview of the Nintendo Holiday Goft Guide
I actually still periodically use the TV remote feature of the Wii U Gamepad! The TV we have in our apartment doesn't have a remote, but we were easily able to repurpose the controller for this. It's a little unwieldy to know if you're lining up the IR sensor right, but it works surprisingly well, no lag, all the necessary functions there for watching, adjusting the volume, and switching your source input.
Something I like to do is take photos of big game posters/billboards etc. It's a real blast from the past to look back on when a game was so big it was advertised in public like that. It's not really recorded anywhere, so I like to do that
it almost as if only 13 million people bought the wii u compared to the 100 million + people who bought the switch lol. that's a lot of people who never played those games :P
Oooh, this is so cool! I have one of these from Nintendo New York, I think from 2014. They had so much charm and you could definitely tell they were from the Wii U era of Nintendo.
Such a cool video. Since I live abroad it's hard to experience those kinds of products. Reminds me of the old magazines we used to buy to know what games were coming out

Currently 12:39 am on a Friday night watching Scott the woz dissect a 7 year old pamphlet from a Japanese video game company... what a time to be alive
4:56 This proves my theory the Wii U should have been launched with 3D World one year after the actual launch. Edit: my statement still stands and one year could've made just a huge difference, my other ideas are: They could've developed actual Wii backwards compatibility instead of having a bunch of Wii stuff inside the console, this way they could've also had better y'know, RAM and CPU, as the actual chip the Wii U uses outside of what it reuses from the Wii had the capacity to have kinda better or atleast equal graphics and 3rd party support as the PS3 and 360 from what I've heard, but the RAM and CPU were what made it less--appealing to get ports and stuff. Also make the console not so depending on the GamePad, but if it is detected, make it depending on it, with an option on it to use other controllers; Mii Maker, Wii U Chat, Parental Controls, SYSTEM SETTINGS. With all of this the console could if I'm right atleast *_handle its own menu._* AND speaking of Wii U Chat, just make it actual group chat and stuff that can be used like other console freacking did. But that last one was the less likely as it's Nintendo, and the Switch still doesn't has that. Also Dark Mode for menu because why not? I don't mean all of this would've made the Wii U more succesful than, say, the PS4 but atleast it would have been something to kinda be at the Xbox One level or maybe a bit more, the marketing would have been probably still shit, however with promoting more that-gen looking games at its launch like 3D World instead of Mario U, or the upcoming Mario Kart 8 and Game and Wario, Tropical Freeze that despite looking similar it looks way more amazing than Returns, that kinda stuff y'know? This way the Wii U would have actually lasted longer, The Switch would be launching around this year with other console launches or atleast last year, because let's be honest the launch of that thing was literally Nintendo running away as fast as possible from the Wii U. *_Did I just spend 10 minutes of writing on the failure the Wii U was despite I unironically play it very much right now?_* Wii U if Nintendo hired this man.
