- #pnso has switched gears recently and started producing multiples or related species in a row. Next up are the tyrannosaurs. Daspletosaurus is my favorite tyrannosaur species so naturally I’m excited for this release. It’s a great figure. Looks a little skinny but after looking at some skeletals it looks right to me. A great addition to your #dinosaur collection.

This is a terrific Daspletosaurus. I’m a huge tyrannosaur enthusiast and I’m personally pretty excited about all of the recent releases. There is an Albertosaurus model already produced, it was showcased in the making of Lythronax video and it looks fantastic.

I am just now inpatiently waiting for them to officially release the Albertosaurus! Been waiting for it for long! Albertosaurus is my fav dinosaur of all time so Im beyond excited!
Ordered the Lythronax instead but might eventually get this one. Thoughts on the Mattel Creations crowd funding Gates?
Love it. Minor complaints. Backed it without hesitation. It will succeed and will open yeh doors for the visitor center and TLW rvs.

How much does it cost again? 43 dollars?
I only have two problems with this figure (excluding the usual pnso flaw of lacking lips)
1: it’s too slim/ the head is too big (basically the proportions are off)
2: it’s far too small the fact that the Lythronax is bigger is just criminal. daspletosaurus is almost in Tarbosaurus territory (cus it’s the length of an Albertosaurus yet it’s bulky like a Tarbosaurus

Yeah, I agree as to there being some proportion issues. The most egregious is the very rubbery looking legs. There’s really nothing there to give confidence that this isn’t a “sick-bed” individual. I thought, because it is a smaller tyrannosaurid that there might be purpose to a more gracile look-smaller hunter, sleeker look cuz faster moves-but the proportions just, …they seem off. It’s almost Lovecraftian that I see the issues but can’t do the math.
@@thomasmonroe7947 it’s actually not a small tyrannosaur. It’s the third largest tyrannosaur in fact. And compared to its contemporary tyrannosaurs, Gorgosaurus and Albertosaurus, it was very bulky. Infact it’s believed to be the direct precursor to tyrannosaurus. So needless to say it’s definitely not bulky enough or large enough. It should be similar in size to the tarbosaurus.
@@starbirds2464 it’s actually one of my favorite tyrannosaurids and I didn’t mean to imply it was small, just not in league with a rex. I still stand by my interpretation of a rubbery legs look for the figure giving it a precocial look.
My take was the figure itself is disproportionate, at 1/35 scale, to the other PNSO offerings.

This is off topic but I don’t know if you’ve heard of a series called Animorphs, where kids shapeshift into animals.
At one point they had a toyline that was sorta akin to Transformers, where you can morph their body into animal or human. One of these toys was a big T. Rex toy called “Tri Rex” that apparently came in 3 separate parts that you can morph together, and had a Kenner Chaos Effect look to it (despite looking cheap quality).
I saw it online and I was like “holy shit maybe Dinoscream will get a kick out of this” 😆

It's nice, but I wish PNSO would start doing more than yet more Tyrannosaurids and theropods in general
Bruh ever heard of haolonggood? They’re giving us pnso quality herbivores. So I think it’s fine for now that pnso is knocking off dozens of underrepresented theropods

the wirey-chicken legs and the overall scrawny-ness of this figure is just a turn off for me. It looks quite adolescent.. Sucks cause I love this dinosaur and been waiting for PNSO to make one. Gonna have to skip this one. Lythro is cool, but I'd rather wait to see their Albertosaurus/Gorgosaurus first before deciding.
