SERIES SUMMARY:
The Alpha Jay Show reviews animation episodes, animated TV movies, cartoons, and other things as a main series. I have reviewed many things from Fairly Oddparents to SpongeBob to Teen Titans Go to The Amazing World Of Gumball and many more. Expect a fair, open-minded and non-pandering review of whatever episode I use. Bear in mind while I do use copyrighted material, it is highly likely that my content falls under the legal defense of fair use.'

hey, whats your intro music
Checkpoint by Nitro Fun and Hyper Potions
I thought it was the Sonic Mania trailer theme!
The one from the Sonic Mania trailer.
Some generic EDM track :)
I want too get sonic mania for switch and PS4
I agree with this. Timmy should have learned what the purpose of good deeds are, while everybody else should have learned to not to be ungrateful assholes for what he was doing. 95% of this episode was filled with things that made no sense, just to give Timmy a bunch of middle fingers.
+Damien Jackson I agree.
Thank you for commenting. ^^
While I CAN agree that good deeds shouldn't be done for the sake of being noticed.
Timmy SHOULD'VE, at least got SOME positive feedback for all the hard work he did, It's like if a parent or spouse got the same treatment Timmy got.
No doubt THEY'D make a similar wish
then it wouldn't be its a wonderful life anymore the joke is this episode is a parody of its a wonderful life the classic christmas special the in order for an episode to be a parody you have to loosely follow the source material
And Timmy realizes that what he did ruined his friends day instead of being shown that his entire existence make the whole world a worse place.
They did a terrible job at said joke.
I'm talking Modern Family Guy levels of terrible
While I do agree that it's horrendous, I do think the original opening could work if
A. Cosmo's fish bowl complaint is cut out
B. Wanda and Cosmo try to convince Timmy not to make the wish (they might have originally done this I just forget since I haven't seen the episode in a long time)
C. Jorgen has an obvious plan and talks in a walkie-talkie type deal with Cosmo and Wanda who are also in on it
D. At first, the world seems better without Timmy, but the more is shown the worse it seems to get; things like Mr. Turner seeing Dinkleberg have a son and wishing he had one or Chester's wishes having a negative side effect which cause some big disaster
E. Timmy realizes the world will never be perfect, with or without him, and decides against the wish which Jorgen congratulates him on passing the test
F. The three who yell at Timmy in the beginning all apologize and pay him back for his kindness; the drama teacher whose name I forget uses Timmy's background in his final production of whatever it is they were doing and gives him a large shoutout; AJ lets Timmy play his games with him and even fixes up the "obsolete" computer and gives it to Timmy; his parents thank him for fixing up their garden and take him out to get ice cream
G. Everything is back to normal and it ends on Timmy and his family riding off into the sunset
But that's just my opinion
Sorry if that was long
Possibly make the walkie talkie part subtle. Like only show Jorgan speaking in it for a few seconds.
Why are you a better writer than the writers who have written this episode?
This version sounds so much better. One more thing I would add is that C&W could tell Timmy that it’s against Da Rules to wish you were never born.
I like your verion better then the original it makes it more interesting.
Its the BEST
If Chester has fairies that means his life is horrible. So his life isn't better off without Timmy
No, that just means Timmy has a worse life than Chester.
If I recall correctly, one episode had a Genie made Timmy lose his fairies, and they went to Chester.
The fairies would improve his life.
@@luigiplayer14 Exactly
I want to know how Timmy's life is worse than Chester's anyway. I can only think that at least Chester's dad loves him and that's why he doesn't have fairies. Otherwise, it makes no sense for Timmy to be the mc lol.
@@smileymctrashbag They go to the same school , have same teacher , and same babysitter....so maybe by the in universe standard(which appeartanly didn't count wealth , as Remy is heck rich.) , Chester win over Timmy on happiness , only and really just by having a caring "enough" parent.)
@@smileymctrashbag that and then there's vicky he had to deal with on a regular basis which is the deciding factor i think.
Chester doesn't have to deal with that
It's because of after this episode , with everyone mocking his efforts. It's the reason why Timmy became a A-hole to everyone.
+Karlos1234ify That sounds realistic.
Alpha Jay Show Also sad and it's all Dumb Jorgen's fault I'm glad fairly odd parents is cancelled
OH
Literally what’s so damaging about this episode is that it reinforces the thinking that everyone in your life WOULD be better without you. I think the episode’s intention was to be a dark joke, but it had the competency of a later season Family Guy episode. This episode is so depressing.
bro honestly, i had a life of awful anecdotes and noone liking me, i would off myself
@@fishmilk0 I hope not
I love how you roasted everyone who was a dick to Timmy.
Also, on a side note, Timmy doesn't have to clean the fish bowl. The fish bowl is merely a disguise for Cosmo and Wanda, who are adults (and have magic). They can clean their own damn fishbowl.
Brandon Thomas They love dumb poof more then Timmy I hate cosmo and wanda.
@@TheAngelmisa Uh,no
@@TheAngelmisa They adore Timmy.
Dude,no offense but I kinda agree with this episode because timmy doing good thing just to get something in return untill he learn from Jorgen & in fact what happened in the world become better without timmy is true, once again no offense.I have a reason for each character:
-Francis bullied timmy & timmy using his fairy to get revenge of francis that just make them create a neverending cycle of hatred where one is being bullied by others & the others bullied them back,Timmy should just let francis beat him then tell is he happy now in front of many people that would make francis realise what he's done or in this case without timmy some kid that smart enough would tell that to francis & turn francis into good guy
-Crocker,timmy is the reason why crocker become a crazy person because he make crocker revealed he has a fairy & make his youth miserable,if timmy wasn't born crocker should able to enjoy his young life
-His parent, timmy's parent always wanted timmy to be a successful person & want him to study hard thats why they left him alone so they won't distrub his study but it turn out timmy often playing around with his friends & his fairies so when timmy never been born they got a better daughter who probally listen to them also his parent never ask him to make the lawn looks beautiful, what i'm saying is timmy is doing something his parent never ask for but not doing something his parent want him to do like study
-AJ,just like jorgen said when timmy is not around AJ can focus on his study & make him graduate at early age, hanging out with timmy just make his progress slower
-Chester,He really deserve Cosmo & Wanda because his life is much more miserable than Timmy's, he live in a trailer with single dad & when he has a fairy he used their magic to help other people unlike timmy who's use it for himself
-Vicky,first timmy is the one who bring vicky to his life at young age because he scared to be left alone so its not vicky's fault & Timmy is also use his fairy to pull a prank on vicky, even without timmy she still can get money by becoming Dr bender's assistant
-For mr bickles i think without timmy he may have find someone who can do what he wanted to do like making the very minor details like the color of the sea become better & help him to reach his dream
-i don't know about elmer & the baseball team but i think timmy treating Elmer just as a back up friend make him frustate & stress & give him a boil & timmy might ruined the baseball team match
And don't say that toothie life is misreable without timmy because i think without timmy toothie will finally meet a good boy who actually like her too unlike timmy who often ignore her untill they were grown up
So in the end what jorgen sais its true that timmy must do good thing without a expected people to thank him for his efforts & he should learn from what happened to the world if he's never been born to make a wish to help those people(like make a wish to go back in time & ruin his parents lawn before the competition start, giving vicky a better job, treat elmer as his real friens not as a back up,help aj studying by wishing a new latest computer for him, etc)so they all can be happy & also him too this episode is actually not bad after all in fact this episode really has a deep moral lesson, hope you guys understand with what i'm saying & once again no offense
@@thejamesdiamonds 1. All Timmy wanted in return was mere appreciation, which is something you should show people who do good deeds for you.
2. How do you know for sure that will work, though? And even if it did, there is nothing keeping Francis’ other victims from trying that.
3. Even without Timmy, Cosmo still would have exposed himself as Crocker’s fairy anyway.
4. Where was it said that is why Timmy’s parents are downright neglectful towards him? Also, it is not exactly considered good parenting to force your child to excessively advance towards the career path of your choice. And studying has nothing to do with being an actor, writer, or director.
5. By just being one of A.J.’s friends? And it certainly does not explain why he is bald.
6. Only 1) there are other fairy godparents besides Cosmo and Wanda who could be assigned to Chester, 2) when Chester tried to do that with Norm in “Fairy Idol”, it led to nothing but disaster, and 3) Timmy may not be an angel, but he has made plenty of selfless wishes throughout the series (“Foul Balled”, “That’s Life!”, etc.).
7. Vicky was already babysitting other kids before that point; otherwise, she would not have had the flyer for her business that prompted Timmy to hire her.
8. As you said, they were very minor details, so Bickles should not have been making such a big deal over them.
9. Then why do Elmer’s parents also have boils? Not to mention the Cubs eventually did win in 2016.
10. Timmy is not exactly obligated to return the feelings of an obsessive stalker. Besides, what about all the nice things he has done for Tootie (“Boy Toy”, “Love Struck!”, “Kung Timmy”, “Birthday Wish!”)? And how would his existence affect that “good boy” liking her in either timeline?
11. As in, Timmy should continue going out of his way and spending effort, money, and time on helping people who were completely ungrateful towards his kindness for petty reasons, and are fully responsible for their own life choices?
You know, I grew up with the Dutch version. I love how even the localisers realised this is just harsh. They changed AJ's dialogue from, well, that, to "I'd rather have something more modern. I'm sorry Timmy." He says sorry. It's pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but if even the localisers realise how harsh the episode is, that says something.
They made it better
Congrats fairly odd parents you made an episode about a boy killing himself
+Anonymous Invader Yeah
And showed that in doing so the world would be better off
That's actually depressing
Naomi Hasunuma it is
Alpha Jay Show sorry to be dark but that’s what it seems to imply
I've never been more happier hearing you give these characters the burn they deserve.
+geardog24 Haha, thank you
the reason i love your channel is because unlike a lot of reviewers, instead of always having a pessimistic view of things, i feel that you have a genuine fondness for the medium of animation, giving each show a fair chance. Love it keep it up!!! congratulations on 20k!

+Carl Bloke Lol 🔥🔥
Personally, the idea I had in my head would have been taking it in the other direction. keeping the episode a darker twist on the Wishful Life concept, and keep people being horrible to him at the beginning, but play up Jorgen's test, and instead of making it "Kindness because you're willing to give up your life", and make it more about knowing better of the people you care for, and self worth.
Have it so instead of Timmy being just aggravated, make it a mix of that, and sorrow. He makes the wish in this flurry of emotions, with a sad thought that maybe they WOULD be off better.
In the "Without Timmy" part of the episode, they could play it up, but specifically put in inconsistencies in how the Timmy-less Characters are acting. And Timmy, instead of finding it contrived, would shrug off these inconsistencies as he slowly gets swept up in how horrible his presence must be, despite them becoming bigger as he goes on.
Timmy comes close to resigning him self to this wish, but pieces fall together as all the inconsistencies in how the people acted all come back to him at once. With this, he realizes that those close to him WOULDN'T be happier without him, and that his existence isn't anything he should give up for others. He steals Jorgen's wand to try and make the wish... Only to find out it's faked. The whole thing set up by Jorgen to teach Timmy a lesson, those inconsistencies were put there on purpose to make Timmy really think about those close to him, and the contrived-ness made Timmy realize that he WAS in the right. Timmy goes back, his will restrengthened, and finds that everyone who had taken his kindness for granted, realized the errors of their ways, and gives him a proper thanks, and apologize for their rudeness. Timmy learns that his friends and family do care about him, not to worry about that, and not to doubt your self.
Might not be the best constructed, might not be the most in character for Timmy, might not even tell the lessons as well as it could, but I think this keeps the twist of the concept, the ending twist of it being a test, while also giving a lesson that could be very important to anyone who ever felt like they shouldn't exist.
really excellent idea, I like this one a lot.
If I Write: It's A Wishful Life: Fairly Oddparents
It would be that Timmy got curiosity of alternate dimensions and Timmy wishes a portal machine so he can see travel between dimension (and maybe Danny Phantom cameo) Timmy is having fun for while but when he enter into dystopia dimension: If Timmy Turner never exists. King Crocker manages to capture all fairies of world and use their magic to create a world as his image. And with portal machine broken and his fairies captured (again) this leads to Timmy find way to save alternate world and his fairies and go back home
uhh you completely changed the plot of the original. At least Alpha did an actual rewrite and not a full change of the episode plot.
Sounds more like a TV movie to me
Would be better as a special
You know....its weird. As a kid this episode sort of felt...off. Like their was something "unclean" about it.
But as an adult I can relate to the message more "you are suppose to do good things because they are the right thing to do" that's a lesson in maturity I didn't have. But one this episode made me ponder
+Krazy Stargazer That's a really interesting perspective. Thank you for commenting.
Balant lies
I don't appreciate this
This episode would probably be more affective if they did it when poof was around. Because since Timmy wished for poof to be born, making cosmo and Wanda parents. Without Timmy, poof would have never existed
Before my corpse is found for giving It's a Wishful Life any credit at all, I leave two good things it did:
1. Timmy was actually responsible for Mr. Crocker being miserable. In The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker, Timmy wants to know why Mr. Crocker is so miserable, so he travels back in time and indirectly causes Crocker's misery. Not only was this a continuity nod, but it was also reasonable to assume that Crocker's life would be better without Timmy being born.
2. Jorgen says a line about how people shouldn't do good deeds for the attention, but because they're the right thing to do. I mostly see this as missed potential because the episode never really gave the impression that Timmy was only doing the good deeds to get noticed for them. It's a really good lesson for kids to learn, so I can give credit to the episode for trying to incorporate that lesson into its story.
Granted, this episode (tied with Love Struck for me) is my least favorite classic FOP episode, but we should be able to acknowledge the few good things that the episode does. As for your rewrite, I enjoyed it a lot, but Dinkleberg doesn't have children. I realize this is a long comment, but hopefully you read through it.
Double-income-no-kids-leberg?
Stephen Brown This ep is still crappy and insulting and has a awful message and I really hate Jorgen he gave timmy a awful lesson. Im glad Chloe beats up stupid jorgen that was the only one good thing she did.
Stephen Brown How did you get upvotes? this is the worst ep ever! It has a ugly bad message and Jorgen is dumb ! this ep and it's message is harmful and selfish! The only great thing mary sue Chloe did is beating up stupid Jorgen's a**! For that crap he pulled on poor Timmy in that crappy its a wishful life ep!
We'll make sure nobody murders you for your opinion.
Maybe.
Pip bernadotte would you please grow up and accept an opinion that's different from yours.
"Dinkleberg and his son."
wasn't the point of the characters the fact that they have no kids?
+Thumbs13 Most likely.
Dink(Duel Income No Kids) Yes, yes it was.
no the point of Dinkleburg is for Timmy's Dad to have an enemy he hates him but hes a wonderful neighboor thats the joke
icecream hero so basically Homer and Flanders
@@icecreamhero2375 The purpose of Dinkleberg is to see the comparison of a guy who has no children (barely rich and living a comfortable life) vs Timmy's dad
You're great with tweaking, and writing stories based on previous ideas! You're always so open-minded, and your content is always enjoyable. This episode was hard to watch for me as a kid, and I think that your version would be rather entertaining! It also had a lesson tied-in that's important to kids to learn, but it's not hammered in to the viewers, the main character chose to fix his mistakes on his own. Great Job! I look forward to your future videos!
Dud you fricking roasted the characters jesus Christ that was awsome
+MineFall MG - the stop motion maker Lol thanks. ^^
Alpha Jay Show damn dude, these roasts are beautiful!!!
What I love the most about your channel is that you take bad things, but you offer ways to make them better instead of just complaining about how bad it is. You offer solutions instead of insults. I honestly need more positivity like this in my life.
To be honest, I've drifted away from a lot of other UA-camrs' reviews on bad episodes since most of them are like the beginning of this video, but only that. The overbearing hatred and negatively really wears me down after a while.
But you have such a great balance to your videos. It's very refreshing and creative. I'd love to see your version of this episode instead of the one we ended up with.
+MelodicDragon97 I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
I haven’t seen this episode since I was much younger, but now I understand why it never sat well with me. This is basically their child-friendly version of suicide. And then the episode tries to tell us that Timmy is helping the world by leaving it, that it would be better had he never been born. That is absolutely disgusting. Regardless of any good message they tried to give, it was completely lost by what this episode turned out to be. Glorifying suicide is NEVER okay.
This episode also has a striking similarity to the one where Timmy was on trial, and he had to prove that his wishes helped at least one person. But that episode actually turned out to have a good message, because without Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda never would have been able to have the child they wanted, and Poof would never have been born. Timmy has reason to exist, just like everyone does. I’m immensely disappointed in the show for It’s A Wishful Life, because I know it can do better. Because regardless of anything, everybody matters. And a message to anyone who is struggling with these thoughts, please know that you are loved and you matter so, so much.
well have one point why timmy not clean his fish bowl is they are fairy living in there own magic castle and they even can't just poof there own things clean it is just one two three done without even seeing it.
+destasoul gaming That's a pretty good point.
That's not the point. The point is for Timmy to help Cosmo and Wanda without using magic.
God the insults
If only he was a character there speaking his mind
Personally, I don't like It's A Wishful Life. To me, it just comes off as needlessly cruel for the sake of it just for the plot to work. Like, I get what it's trying to say. You shouldn't just do nice things for admiration I get that. But the message is so flimsy in execution that it just makes the characters look like petty assholes in the beginning.
That, and I just think how does it make any sense for *everyone* to be better off without Timmy even if at some points, they're really stretching?(It doesn't help there's no mention of Mark Chang,Tootie,Crimson Chin or any other character that benefited from Timmy existed.) Like again, I get the message this episode was intending but it doesn't really work or even make sense given the beginning of the episode.
Like imagine it like this. You do all these nice deeds out of the kindness of your heart and suddenly everyone acts like an asshole. Would you want to keep doing nice things for said people? I wouldn't. in general, your rewrite I feel would make this episode a million times better. It's at least a better justification for the concept of said episode while not going overly cruel for the sake of it.
I can say that while by Season 10 standards this isn't the worst, i'll argue in terms of being in the good era of FOP, it's still pretty terribly written and contrived.
Super Gamer61499 But after that season that's when fop became awful. I hate poof!
Super Gamer61499 bruh, that’s a shit morale. Showing appreciation is the least that someone wants when they do something really nice for you. And the least someone wants to hear is you being rude to their kind gestures. A simple thank you goes a long way you know. You more likely to repeat a kind action if people acknowledge and show appreciation in some way, else you feel like you just wasted time and effort
Also there's a reason why doing something good is pleasing. When you see that your actions have positively effected someone, something chemically happens to you to make you more happy and more willing to do it, and the best way to show that an action has positively affected someone is showing some form of admiration, like a smile or thank you. When you give an implication that the action isn't appreciated the person is less likely to do it, or anything similar to it. Not only did Timmy's associates not show appreciation for Timmy's action, but they also showed contempt for what Timmy did. Realistically some kid's would feel less inclined for doing anything for anyone when that happens.
Foreleus Loud people don’t wanna be nice to someone that’s an asshole and that is a fact. Kinda like how you being asshole
I kind of thought you're rewriting of the story was going to be cheesy but it genuinely impressed me; thank you.
+Subwing 00 Thank you for commenting. ^^
What do you think of Fairly Oddparents: It's A Wishful Life?
Alpha Jay Show it's the worst episode of the entire show
Kirby Over Yonder u haven't watched any recent right?
Alpha Jay Show I still kinda like it they tried something new at least but it failed
Jeffplayz 123 actually, I have. Even though most newer FOP episodes are terrible, I still think this ones the worst
It's A Wishful Life is irredeemable trash, worst episode of the show (season 10 is crap, but not as bad as this).
I remember watching this episode of FOP back when it first aired in 2004 and I just remember thinking “my god this is the darkest FOP episode I’ve ever watched” so the writers are basically saying if Timmy committed suicide that everyone’s lives would be better off without him??
This isnt a rewrite. This is a diss against every stupid character. I approve
While the original does have plot issues, I feel like I relate more to the harshness of the original episode. I can recall times growing up where I got yelled at or told to go away by no fault of my own. Maybe I'm just an unpleasant person to be around..
+DragonArbock That's pretty fair. Thank you for commenting.
Now Don’t Talk Like That, I used to go through the same exact shit you went through. Well Sort Of But there would be days where I thought that I was an unpleasant person to be around. But that was usually because of my bad behaviour. Plus I was 8-10 years old…
Thanks for the 20K! I got something cooked up.
Also vote for the next How I'd Write in the card above.
Your idea for "It's a Wishful Life" reminds me of Huey, Dewey and Louie's portrayal in the old "Walt Disney Comics and Stories", where sometimes the three of them are nice kids, but other times they can be mischievous; in which case, you kept what Timmy was known for in the original "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" and the Original Seasons, before "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker" where he started to mess up people's lives, either by accident, or on purpose (save for Vicky, which in of itself is a long story).
Speaking of which, the actual episode was trying to point out what Timmy did before in his life: "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker" was referenced in this episode twice, by showing that Mr. and Mrs. Turner have a *daughter* instead of a son (They thought they were gonna have a daughter in the original episode and spent a whole lot of money on girl stuff, making their value completely worthless when they found out that they have a son instead), while Crocker is living a better life like he did before he lost his fairies (though if Timmy hadn't interfered, Crocker would be miserable anyway; case and point: vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fairlyoddparents/images/a/a4/The_Secret_Origin_of_Denzel_Crocker..._If_Timmy_Turner_did_NOT_go_Back_In_Time!.JPG/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/640?cb=20130708193359&path-prefix=en Time Travel is Bullshit); Timmy was in a constant struggle with Vicky, and failed to make amends with her in Snow Bound, therefore she now wanted him dead (I would think that Vicky was at an early state babysitting at the age of fourteen, and that if Timmy hasn't kept the flame going, she would've switched to a different job if possible); AJ was treated as the butt of Timmy's jokes, despite being Smart (in a "City of Idiots" no less: vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fairlyoddparents/images/3/38/Vlcsnap-2016-02-03-22h42m41s325.png/revision/latest?cb=20160204044724&path-prefix=en), and it's even hurtful when you find out that Jimmy Tummy Power Hour 3 has him blindly think that he's in the future for the majority of the episode. The next one's a bit of a stretch, but Chester having a miserable life, and now having Fairy Godparents instead of Timmy foreshadows what's going to happen in Fairy Idol... still, the problem here is that later episodes have Timmy isolate himself from his REAL family and friends, and hang out with his Fairies, not caring that they'll go away eventually.
Also, you forgot one detail (which was from "The Grass is Greener): The Dinkleburgs *NEVER* have a son. Other than that, amazing story.
You're welcome. You deserve it.
How about you do Just The Two Of Us Next, The way I'd write it is to have Cosmo's false assumption about Wanda having a crush on Timmy, when he wished for himself & Trixie to be the only two humans on earth be even worse. Have Cosmo gradually descend into madness & intentionally try to keep Timmy from unwishing his wish so he'd die one way or another, basically make Cosmo the main villain of the episode instead of Trixie.
Did you even realize how Trixie tends to ignore Timmy a lot? It would've been nice if Timmy leaves Trixie after that episode, but no, they have to go back to the "Status Quo is God" cliche after that... BULL... SHIT.
that is my favorate episode its hilarious
I really like your thoughts on this! It's down to earth.
+The KT Show 😊 Thank you!
Did any of you think that after the controversy around Butch, this episode is basically a metaphorical representation of his unsympathetic view on depression and mental illness.
I was disappointed when I first saw this because the episode had so much potential:
One route the show could've took is if they wanted to truly make Timmy seem like a selfish asshole and have Jorgen's message make sense they could've shown him doing all those good deeds specifically for favors. He could've painted the play background because he wanted to get extra credit for drama class because he was failing due to never practicing or studying. He could've bought AJ that computer because he wanted him to do his homework for him because he was too lazy. He could've fixed his parents' lawn because he wanted them to take him to a consort or he wanted money for a new video game.
Another route the show could've took is it could've shown Tootie and how sad she is because she felt like something was missing from her life. Timmy sees how miserable she is and realizes how much Tootie really cares about him despite discovering that the rest of the world is better without him. He could've then started hanging out with Tootie more and be more a friend to her and grown as a character. Maybe even eventually start dating her.
A third route is after Timmy realizes the reasons why all those people are better off without him he could've then used that as a motivation to better himself and be more selfless. He could strive to study harder and pursue an admirable career so he can be the rich and successful child his parents wanted him to be. He could wish that Francis joined the football team so he could be the star athlete. He could stop being friends with AJ thus allow him to reach his true academic potential. He could wish that Crocker never discovered that fairies existed so he can improve his teaching career. He could wish Elmer's boil away and wish that Mr.Bickles had a successful career as a director. He could wish that Vicky work for Dr. Bender so she won't cause pain to himself and other children. Then after Timmy fixes his life and improves the others' his final wish could be that Cosmo and Wanda become Chester fairies since he realizes that he needs them more than Timmy. That would be an interesting series finale with him growing up as a person. Or Timmy could wish that him and Chester share Cosmo and Wanda, which would make way more sense than him sharing them with Chloe who is in no way miserable enough to have fairies.
But instead all this episode tells you is you should always do good deeds no matter how much of an asshole someone is to you, you should never thank someone for doing good deeds for you, and unless someone does a good deed for you that's 100% perfect it's perfectly ok to be a selfish asshole to them.
How I'd write "It's A Wishful Life"
Throw away the terrible idea and start from scratch.

Alpha Jay Show nice job with the rewrite! You put it in the right direction
More Fosters?
Is it Christmas?!
Great, a clash of the idiots.
I heard that some times alpha jay responds to comments
you should have added more jokes yes morality and life lessons are good but the point of the show is to be funny your version is less funny
i remember watching this episode when i was 7 or 8 with my mom, and during the middle of the episode, i asked her, "would the world be better off if i wasn't born?" or something similar to that. she then yelled at me to not say those things. the end.
Never say things how did your parents meet for my parents meet in 10th grade my and aunt along with my dad and uncle were good friends my parents started to date in 11th grade to
I had a theory for why Tootie wasn't included in the episode.
Since Timmy isn't directly responsible for Vicky being The Worst (see: evil bug up her butt), she continued being evil even without Timmy to babysit HOWEVER without the extra person to dived her attention, she bullied Tootie more than usual and without Timmy giving Tootie something to focus on and look forward to, she 13 Reasons Why'd herself.
This realization that her actions have lasting consequences would be what eventually pushed Vicky to try and prevent pain rather than cause it.
YES!! *grabs food and covers self with blanket* my show is on, new episodes!! Edit: Also, I think this episode suffered because it might think that if kids weren't born then their friends lives would be better, and killing yourself isn't funny.
Btw I love your opinions and listening to you tell us about them!! Congrats on your subs!!
Thanks for rewriting this episode! It was pretty good. This is why I like your channel so much. You decide to do something that no one else really decided to do. Great job!
+Lou Cartoon Thank you!
Wouldn't Dinkelberg's life be changed for the worse? If timmy no longer existed, Dinkelberg would've most likely lost the competition.
fancy man that killed 2 people No he wouldn't care about that.
This ep really messed me up when I was a kid. So glad you covered it
This episode made me really, angry if I was Timmy I would of went out of my way to intentionally make everyone's lives miserables.
It matters, since it's incorrect. Correcting grammar isn't something that's intended to make you feel worse about yourself, it's to point out something you did wrong so that you can learn from it and not make the same mistake again.
"Would of" is an increasingly common mistake that has probably arisen because it's a perceived phonetic spelling of "would've." Even if the meaning can be discerned by visualising it read out loud, it makes no sense grammatically. "Of" can't ever replace "have," since they are completely different words. Not acknowledging when you're wrong or not making an effort to learn something or correct yourself just serves to further normalise these errors.
Don't trivialise or get upset about people correcting grammar, we're doing it to help.
Rider450 no one cares
@@KaeraNeko ok, but why would you care so much if some random person on the internet makes a grammar mistake? It’s not your job to correct them
Yeah, Just Be Yourself.
When I first saw this as a 4 year old, It felt so wrong, ever since my therapist has helped a bit, now I'm fixed
Edits On Imovie Thank god you got help!
Butch. Hartman.
Why.
Why the hell did you do this.
My god, this rewrite is such an improvement! This episode always bothered me as a kid, as it's just so mean-spirited and (unintentionally) sends a terrible message. It essentially tells kids that you should tolerate abuse from others with a smile on your face and continue to help out even if you're hurting inside...in other words, being a martyr is a good thing.
Don't tolerate abuse, but help others and be kind, even when they're not. And please don't use God's name in vain ❤ He loves you very much ❤️
I should also mention that if Timmy ceased to exist, fairy world should lose its power, and that it would be vaulnerable to the darkness
I love the salty roasts you give the characters at the beginning
If anything Timmy makes things better in Dimsdale
Dimsdale won't get away it
I used to like this episode as a kid cuz I only saw it after season 8 when Timmy became noticeably selfish and stupid. It was kinda satisfying in a way, until I saw that it aired in season 5 and I was like, really?
I do have a very important question.
How are you so fricking underrated! I think you deserve so much more than 20k, though that is a great milestone and congrats!
You give out both sided opinions and they aren't swayed by the majority of what people think. Yet you still go out of your way to think about others opinions as well and is very opened minded. Also I like how your channel is based on a broad thing such as 'cartoons', I believe you can expand so much more with that concept, especially in the type of videos you do.
Vs, how I would write it, the good and the bad of a show, what you generally don't like about a show, ranging from personal opinion to facts, ect...
I only started watching your videos today, but I'm definitely going to be waiting for the next video. I'm not even trying to be nice or flattering, I honestly think this and hope a lot of more people see this channel and find something they like, or even something they don't see eye to eye with. I still think it's very interesting to learn others well thought out opinions.
But of course, that's just my opinion. 😊😉
Ok one more thing, ps; you are one of the few UA-camrs I can play out loud without having to worry about you cussing. It's not that I have a problem with or without cussing, but I rather not be on the run from my parents.
Everyone else's misery is beyond Timmy's control! 😠
2:33 if he needs a computer every time anthoer comes out, good luck writing a paper
1:38
Geez. Even I don't nitpick that much.
your rewritten version fits with timmy's actual peronallity...
when was the last time the genie guy was on the show
FernoHead season 5
+FernoHead Norm? That's a good question. Not sure.
Why aren't you a tv writer?
The plot of this episode is depressing. I don't know the resolution of the episode, but the synopsis gives me depression flashbacks of not wanting to exist, which is a very heavy feeling to have. It's not the exact same thing as "I want to die," but it's very closely related. Finding out that you are the root of all the misery that your friends and family experience could definitely be a suicide trigger.
No matter what intention the episode had, it just feels wrong to me, personally, maybe because of my own past experiences with the same sort of wishes.
this show is awful for being about an abused and neglected kid and also not offering any hope outside of cosmo and wanda (who aren't permanent). i can't imagine how damaging it is for kids that might be living in an abusive situation. the "everyone would be better off without me" is a dangerous borderline suicidal thought.
I once heard a theory that the world was altered a bit by Jordan just to mess with Timmy. I discredited it at the time. But given some of the more recent episodes...we sure Jordan doesn't want to just punish Timmy for doing nothing wrong?
This episode feels like a episode from Season 10 tbh.
Nah, I Think This Was Bad In A Diffirent Way.
+Jay W. Eyyyy Jay.
Alpha Jay Show Eyyyyy
+Alpha Jay Show AJ?
No, then Chloe would be the protagonist and the episode would have nothing to do with the show as a whole.
Everyone in this episode was a stuck up jerk! AJ could've refused the computer but thanked Timmy for it anyways. The drama teacher is just a child in a man's body, can't really expect much from him. The parents should've accepted what their son did. Sure they lost a contest to the worst yard but their neighbor has to clean all that up while the Turner's have a nice yard.
Do you think you can do a video on how you'd write Arnold Betrays Iggy?
I don't think that episode can be rewritten.
I think it could work. Instead of Arnold doing it, have characters like Sid and Stinky since they often have skewed priorities. As for Iggy, have it so that they only get humiliated in their homes, with no ond around.
Right after learning the truth, Iggy whistles so loud that it causes everyone to cover their ears and eyes as well as break all glass including the cameras and tv stations relaying the whistle and Arnold, covering his ears, slams the door. Iggy then goes in front of Arnold's door and yells, at them to leave. Saving the humiliation.
It's not the best, but I'm not writing a wall of text.
Was anyone else scarred by this episode? Because when I watched it I started falling into this hole of “what if I’m the Timmy of my world? What if nobody wants me around?”
it sounds goos but I also am sad that it felt like missed potential. Like maybe Timmy doesn't believe wanda when she says she amped it up so she shows tootie and even when amped up proves that tootie is still not as happy without him. Or perhaps Jorgen is revealed to have amped it up for Wanda and got something I'm return proving further the being nice and getting something back but also going the extra mile and proving that he could do it for non humans as well like perhaps Cosmo and the fish bowl or perhaps the alien
+Rythan Hemphill That's pretty fair. Nice additions!
I like the new thought on this story, its a lot better then Its A Wishful Life
Hello Alpha Jay from the Alpha Jay Show! New to the channel, really like what I've seen so far! Love how you can be critical of things without blindly bashing it like some others do. Keep it up, dude!
+zcolucci Thank you man! ^^
if Timmy was never born then the nicktoon crossover games would have never happened because Timmy was a founding member and was extremely helpful in most of the games. so with out him Danny, Jimmy, SpongeBob, and every other nick hero would have been killed
As a kid I never knew that a certain child's existence is the reason why everybody's lives are miserable until I had watched that one episode when timmy feels unappreciated and depressed all because his family and friends don't appreciate him at all and so he wishes that he were never existed and it turns out that his parents and all the other people in the world are doing good without him around
I thought Jorgan was funny with the cactus stuff, and would keep that and the dirty fish bowl it works so much better in your version.
Also Remmy isn't an actor, I think it would be funny to have Crocker there instead looking for an excuse to hide from his mother.
This episode just straight up said that everyone is better off without you
I honestly cried because everyone made him feel that he's worthless and that he is not loved, his parents got a better life if he didn't exist
13 reasons why fairly odd parents edition
I remember this being the last episode that I watched. It was just at a point where I said, "Nah I'm good."
This episode turned me off THAT MUCH.
Dayum suuuun *not dead meme*. This guy is the most savage cartoon UA-camr I've seen
This episode could have restored some continuity and used previous episodes as a way of showing the positive influence of Timmy's presence. He was responsible for a lot of good things happening to his loved ones, or at least he had some positive effect on their lives (such as him helping his younger parents get together, helping Trixie express her inner tomboy nature, helping Vicky show some kindness on occasion, helping Mark Chang save his people and escape his fiance Man-Die, etc).
hey what about tootie how would she be able to cope without Timmy
i don't think she could imo.
What I took away from this episode is that while I am not saying its wrong to do good deeds out of selflessness however to me it depends on the CONTEXT of those good deeds that matters most. It shouldnt be a moral crime to sometimes feel unappreciated. Sometimes feeling unappreciated is just simply a part of what makes us HUMAN. Every time Timmy tries to do a good deed for someone they keep crushing his spirit until Timmy got fed up with their inability to acknowledge his efforts and at least thank him for at least trying to do the right thing. What Butch Hartman seems to be implying is that we should just allow others to bend us over and take us for granted and add insult to injury tell us to be GRATEFUL about it as well as the whole world would be better off with out you thing which in my honest opinion is like the worst message you can teach children. While I do enjoy other episodes of this show Butch Harman pushing his morally superior values in this context is pretty mean spirited I find.
You know, when I was little I never really understood why I disliked this episode, I’d just feel pretty sad and like I related, and now watching the beginning of this as a depressed teen, I’m just like: oH
Timmy is an average -> *kid*
BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD DID THIS EPISODE BETTER THAN FAIRLY ODD PARENTS!!!!
I swear, these reviews are so detailed that they sound like educational classes on how to behave in real life rather than actual reviews, hahahaha. It's just really weird
These alpha roasts are so hot, let me call the fire department. 🔥🔥🔥🚒
i love your way of rethinking shows. this makes me sound old but it really does remind me of how people used to create cartoons, adding in morals and lessons or thoughts that get you thinking but still being fun and entertaining at the least but nowadays cartoons just simply want to entertain and i think thats whats wrong with some modern shows. they can be soulless sometimes (like showing a character with intentions or ignorance, hurting others and ending with that character getting no consequence whatsoever/actually being rewarded) and dont leave you with much except for randomness and toilet humor.
I like this concept of reimagining and episode's story/plot. Mainly because I really hate the argument of, "You think you could've done better?"/ "Let's see you come up with something better."
As if to say when a person reviews and or critiques a show or episode, the straw man defense against such a review is to say, that you're not creative and can never come up with a better idea in a million years because you "complained about it".
To me its always such a non-argument. Its why people write fan fiction and all that stuff, because people can and do very often like to reimagine how they would handle a show or certain elements in a show that they see as plot holes, or maybe wasn't handle well in the original.
You're the first person I've seen to make this an entire concept for series, instead of just briefly mentioning bits and pieces in reviews of how a scene or plot could have worked better, that's really cool.
Oh man. This episode really messed me up as a kid and made me wonder for a long time there if everyone I knew would have been better off if I was never born
episode in a nutshell: Everyone gets roasted
Your version would have to be a 20 minute episode. But I like it.
+Rex Hernández That's fair. Thank you for commenting.
Doesn't this reveal that Chester has fairys?
New alpha jay video? Hell yes
+Sadhow Ayy a Sadhow comment. 🔥🔥👏🏾
I was thinking about redoing this episode too yesterday.
+yaoipigglet Lol nice.
Alpha Jay: the king of family friendly roasts
You roasted them hard! I laughed so hard at this!
+Joe Casazza Glad to deliver!
Pun intended
Bruh you rewrote this episode perfectly! Although I would also add in a moral about not expecting more than you’re giving or just doing good things because they’re the right thing to do. But unlike the actual episode says, there’s nothing wrong with wanting appreciation or a simple “thank you” for doing good deeds.
How about rewriting the season finale episode Phantom Planet from Danny Phantom? The episode may have been an hour long, but it was too rushed in certain places. His friends and sister turn their backs on him because he gave up his ghost powers, basically calling him selfish when he actually did it because he was afraid they'd get hurt or worse because of him and wanted to protect them they act so out of character it's ridiculous. I want to see how you'd go about making that episode, since you did such a good job with these Fairly Odd Parent episodes.
Do one on Stuck in the Wringer (assuming you hate that one), cause I haven't really seen anyone try to rewrite that so it would be unique.
I love your channel SO much you give everything such a fair chance unlike other reviewers who just immeditaly hate cartoons and don't give them a chance
+Ezra Semel Thank you. I appreciate that.
Bro I can’t hold you 2 minutes into your version is already 10x more funny
This channel has been in my feed for so long and I finally decided to watch a video. I'm definitely subscribing to this channel.
+RiseOfTheFandoms Thank you ^^
The big problem with this episode is that it is trope subversion simply for the sake of Trope subversion. It doesn't understand how Trope subversion is supposed to work.
12:21
Dinkleberg doesn't have kids and it's a pretty fundamental part of his character. (There's the episode where Timmy ran away to the circus because he misread his parents being jealous of the Dinklebergs' wealth)
