Once you listen to mushuggah, everything else sounds like freaking Dora the explorer
LOOOOOOOOL!!!
When I listen to them, it kinda sooth my brain...
Thanks for watching bro! Don't hesitate to sub 😉👍
Oilid I already subbed man , you got some great content
@@omarjones7838 Thank you VERY MUCH!
Yeah only, Rings of Saturn, Infant annihilator and Oceans ate Alaska can follow after this...
@@Timbo6669 Infant Annihilator are soooo funny! How can someone dislike them?!? 😁
Play this at 1.5x speed and you'll notice he got the strokes right.
To be fair I think it was easier for me to learn it at 2x and then slow it down........
I’m convinced it still isn’t 115 bmp when the video is played at 1.5x speed, to be honest.
20000000 iq
:)
Bro fuck Messhugah for being so goddamn talented
Best Meshuggah"s "Bleed" lesson ever made. Gotta work on that now ;)
Best lesson yeah
Also you can listen a Bleed cover after the lesson :D
2:14 and make it ×1,5 speed lol
:)
This is legit the only one that ever made any sense to me
@@ericsiemens9891 Thank you Eric.
You shouldn`t. The parts are wrong and slopy. Sorry.
It's way easier than it sounds, it's just really fucking fast.
Yes, it's "super human" fast ! :)
Don't hesitate to sub and hit that bell for part 2 ;)
I also do many guitar/pickups tests ;)
I'm learning on Bass. I want to learn Combustion, Electric Red, Bleed, Lethargica, and Obzen and play them as one piece. I've already learned Lethargica. The one thing I've learned is that Meshuggah is cheese masters and their songs are simple but written in a way that makes them seem insane
LOOOOOOOL! Yes, you can't be more right! :)
Good luck for all those songs, I'm planning to learn them too, but I started with my favourite ;)
I started with Lethargica. i'm at the point where I can comfortably play 100% with the song but I'm doubting right now whether I can play it from memory. The 'verses' throw me off when trying to count them. I'm going to learn ER > Obzen > Combustion > Bleed
That's the order of songs I should have done lol
Okay, this is more complicated than i thought it would be. Now i need an 8 string guitar.
Yes indeed, very complex! 🤘
0:25 I thought you were flipping us off
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Plot twist: he was.
Lmao I thought the same thing
Hahahaha I thought the exact same thing, I had to rewind. Great video.
(follow the bass drum) good luck with finding a drummer that can play "bleed"
LOOOOL! I know one. 😉
Thanks for watching bro. Don't hesitate to sub if you haven't already. 😉👍
🤣
this video taught me to play the song 1.5 slower, then speed the song up x1.5 from DAW. really useful video, thanks for the idea! LOL
Thank you very much!
Don't hesitate to sub, more to come 😉
You are the best bro! Getting my first 7 string (yes I know, this song is on an 8)in a few weeks and stoked to learn this song. I pretty much never like these "how to play" videos from anyone, I'd rather learn by ear or a tab, yours is really one of the few "how to play" videos that is actually useful. You rock bro
Thank you VERY VERY MUCH !
Honestly the note to finish with an upstroke unlocked this for me. Now I’m doing it that way I cannot understand why I was trying to do it the other way - I was almost there on speed but it was effortful and hard to maintain endurance. Piece of cake with the upstroke by comparison
😉😉😉.😉
kind of metallicas fault we default to downpicking

As a cellist and Classical musician, metal is one of my Fave genres: i have a tons of fave metal songs but this period i'm Just into meshuggah and i wanted to learn the rhythm of bleed riff.

Shit! I always finish with a downstroke. That kinda changes many things...
You're welcome, don't hesitate to subscribe for the next lesson ;)
it was a very subtle joke. very subtle indeed
I take you use push-pull knobs on your instrument
Only pull, never seen the push knob... Damn, that's another thing I'm doing wrong for years!
Please inform me.
loooooooooooooooool
🤘👍
🤘☺️👍
It's perfect to play intro "Bulls on parade" by Rage Against the Machine with that guitar.😃👍👍👍
looooooooooooooooooooooooooool
I found out practicing this riff that I prefer starting the main riff triplet on the upstroke and finishing it on downstroke. I don't know why but switching the first stroke and after that just alternating like in video is much much easier to me.
👍
It's not a triplet though, is it?
@@TheImprovisations When a guitarist says "triplets" in the context of a riff like this, they are always talking about gallops. Reverse gallops like in this song or Raining Blood or Battery are notes played in groups of 3 as 32 32 16 notes, regular/"foward" gallops are 16 32 32.
Wow . You're God

LOOOOOOOOOOL
Awesome dude! Thanks! One question: gear used? It's hard to get that freakin creazy tone. I got a Mesa Boogie Mark v 25
Lucas Nicolas Crosato
Thank you very much for watching bro!!!
The gear I use is over simplistic and ridicule: Ibanez M80M, M Audio cheap interface, DAW, Line 6 Pod Farm plugin.
The rest is that I'm used to work this way, so I think my ears know what to tweak. 😉
See: very cheap gear!
Don't hesitate to subscribe if you haven't already done bro! 😉👍
Oilid really awesome!! I need to learn to use my ears haha..Thanks for your answer and keep on rockin!
Lucas Nicolas Crosato
You're welcome!
I find as I'm trying to learn this that I really emphasize the first downstroke to help me keep time. However, I almost feel like that's sacrificing some of the speed as I'm overexerting my wrist. Should I keep all the notes at the same emphasis and be more relaxed to help me get the riff up to speed?
Hello.
I tried both.
I prefer the relaxed way, even if the 1st note "punch" can help.
Maybe you can alternate between both when you feel you're losing speed or stamina?
Thanks for watching and your comment.
And now... 5 times faster and you got it! ...oh... and survive the hellish 4-5 minutes of it :D
😂👍
You guys don't understand this man is doing God's work.
looool ! thank you very much bro! :)
Can you play it full speed? I see you have a circular movement of right hand pick, which makes it very difficult to play like that. If you look at original Meshuggah's session video, they play it with a straight wrist motion. I found it much more stable and powerful. I've also been playing with a circular movement, and have to learn the new way of doing that.
Hello!
I do a mix of two techniques!
:)
Thanks for the vid. I think I'm getting it but with my setup with emgs it is not sounding tight when I try to play at the same tempo as the song.
You're very welcome bro!
Don't hesitate to subscribe, it means a lot to me!
As for the EMGs... meh... I don't like them... they are too fizzy in the high end.
Try to lower the gain on your amp settings or plugin.
Meshuggah - Bleed lesson part.2 is also available in the same channel! ;)
Push the mids hard, turn bass and gain down and amp presence up. Treble wherever it starts to bite and articulate. Meshuggah use Lundgren pickups which are super tight and punchy for single string rhythms but they separate tones hard and don't sound as buttery thick and delicious for chords like EMG'S will. Everything is a compromise.
😱😱😱😱😱😀👏👏👏👏
🤘🤘🤘
I love bleed..! 🤘🏿
Your sound it’s amazing .. do you use amplifier or emulator? which?
Thank you!
I use Bias FX 1, factory preset.
@@Oilid i have positive grid amp but i can't find such a cool sound., it sucks enough
@@fish2238 I understood that I'm not an sound engineer so I always use factory presets done by competent people which know their product far better than myself 😀
Too many years playing gallops the traditional way. I have better luck playing it that way. Kind of a drag, as I know this method would potentially help grow my rhythms/ writing. Awesome video, and thanks. I've not given up hope entirely.
He he You're most welcome bro! ;)
Sounds like a Halo Battle Rifle
😁👍
When you learning speed playing this riff, main part was a first 3 movement(down,up down) or full 4 movement(down,up,down,up)?

The slow strokes part sounds like pirates of the caribbean
🤣
Can you tell me about your M80M guitar? I want to order one but a little suspicious of the build quality since its Indonesian. Hows the fretwork? Is it smooth and even and not sticking out of the fretboard? Hows the sustain. Does it keep tuning well? How low can you set the action? Overall, does it feel like a quality guitar?
If Ibanez doesn't screw the QC, it could be your best guitar.
It is my best guitar.
PS : sustain not long.
I see. Im mostly hearing good reviews of this guitar so i guess the QC is good. Where did you get yours from? Ill most probably order from Sweetwater.com since they check the guitars before sending out.
Yes, it's better to get it from a store, that's what I did. :)
Don't hesitate to subscribe :)
Just did. Btw final question. Is it one or two truss rods and are they hex shape or RG style (inverse hex head)?
Actually I can't answer you because I never had to touch the trussrods.
The neck NEVER moved!
I know there are 2 titanium truss rods. I didn't notice a particular key.
Anyways, every "goodies" is included (solid gig bag also).
I tell you, if the QC is good, this is the BEST 8 strings you'd put your fingers on ;)
Ask your shop to check it before they send it.
Here's a video of what I think about Ibanez's QC : ua-cam.com/video/usZTok00UGw/v-deo.html
And Ibanez QC catastrophe: ua-cam.com/video/fJ4QLwb4-Ug/v-deo.html&lc=Ugx6FWtjfakW7H5xU4d4AaABAg
I much prefer finishing with a down stroke. It sounds way more chunky and aggressive.
Ok.
Confusing, you put up text about Rhythm 1b at the end but playing with the 1a rhythm?
I'm indicating the notes for part 1b.
Watch part 2. 😉
I knew it...my hand was telling me it was wrong but I stubbornly ignored it...end on an upstroke...gotta listen to my hands more
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
what about tuning and pedal set up
Half step down.
No pedal. Bias Fx 1 factory preset.
What's with the hair tie thingy at the nut
To avoid strings unwanted resonance.
“If you can play it slow you can play it fast”
😉👍
My neighbors love this song ,.... I think ~lol
🤣🤣🤣.🤣
what if i like doing it downstroke?:D like this rythm is so cool and i lover those rythms from metalcore and learned it downstroke :D i tried to play this song but the hardest part is to keep the pace with the song. the hands gets tired from this song fast but i never played it and this seems a lot of fun :D
😉👍

Can I play the same thing if I tune down a 7 string to F?
