Motioneye hasn't been supported or updated since 2020. If you do get it working, it won't be for long. Definitely be nice is someone was to take over that project, or replace it.

would it be possible to just stream the video output to a localhost port and have a electron application that checks for ports on localhost and displays that?

This looks fire but how secure is this? I saw the software hasn’t been updated since 2020.

    Two questions:
-If you're out of town, how can you connect to your Raspberry pi to access live or saved/recorded footage?
-Can you have it email or text you if it detects motion?
    Thanks.

a vpn would the best method, for motion detection, im unsure if this project supports that

Great video, but I'm running into an issue. I'm fairly new to Raspberry Pi and don't know how to troubleshoot well. I put in the ".CONF" file and then put the SD card into my Pi 4, I'm using a monitor, and it brings me to the diagnostics page and loops saying the same messages, a couple that read out "This board requires newer software" and "start4.elf: is not compatible". I've had this problem following other guides and don't know how to fix it. I made sure to get the right .img file from eyemotionos and got the version for pi 4. I can provide any more details if I forgot any and someone knows how to help. Thanks.

the file you should be using to flash the os onto the card should be something.img

@@BarmineTech I made sure to flash with the file name "motioneyeos-raspberrypi4-20200606.img" and I still get this same problem. I made sure to not flash with ssh and put the conf file in. I don't know if this means anything but when I try to open the .img file (for no reason, I did it accidentally at first) it says mount and then a window pops up and says "couldn't mount file, the disk image file is corrupted". Do you know any other reasons this could be happening? Thanks.
