However, if they are in a position of authority and say something clearly hateful then there should be consequences. Disagreement does not constitute hate speech. When the government gets involved in trying to regulate morality we get things like alcohol prohibition and bad things happen.

As for the boy scouts argument and the like, I don't mind it so much because of the difference in the two groups. A few years ago I was a volunteer with my local girl scout troop. Most of the girls in it, nearly all of them, wanted to do some things that the boy scouts were known for doing. Camping, fishing, knots, widling, ect. But their leaders were either "That isn't stuff girls do." or "I don't know how or even want to do that." The girls were going to leave to join the boy scouts, but instead volunteers like me jumped in and we gave them the chance to do "boy scout things". Which we actually worked with the leaders of the boy scouts to do some joint trips and the two could be separate but work together.
For what it is worth, I think a gold toilet named "America" is a perfectly valid, albeit odd and controversial piece of art which traditionally have been two objectives of art. I would tell Prager that it's a little hard to decry the loss of free speech and then complain about what a gold toilet named America says. As for things like late night TV, my advice would be to not watch it. It is consumer driven so turning off Steven Colbert and not supporting the show's advertisers is probably the best anyone can do. Personally, I still remember Carson, remember him fondly.

A discussion however lets both sides learn from their different perspectives.
The purpose of a debate is to present and defend one's position in an argument following the rules of LOGIC and REASON. It is neither toxic nor inhibiting. What it does not do is rely on presentation of feelings or opinion as facts, both often defying logic or reason. By the way, argument is not pejorative by nature. It is an intellectual exercise.

They won't be forced to allow girls into his troop. The way it currently works is the girl troop (who will share the same troop number) would have separate meetings though I believe they would sometimes attend the same camp outs or activities. They can't really force them to accept girls as they would need new women leaders who are willing to run the girl troop.

Most of the heat is coming from the actress herself and some of her comments.
So just remember, the vast majority (though not all) of the hate you heard about Captain Marvel is focus on the actress and not the movie itself.

That and the fact a lot of them live in urban areas which all vote democrat because of their views on gun control, climate action etc.

As for the boy scouts argument and the like, I don't mind it so much because of the difference in the two groups. A few years ago I was a volunteer with my local girl scout troop. Most of the girls in it, nearly all of them, wanted to do some things that the boy scouts were known for doing. Camping, fishing, knots, widling, ect. But their leaders were either "That isn't stuff girls do." or "I don't know how or even want to do that." The girls were going to leave to join the boy scouts, but instead volunteers like me jumped in and we gave them the chance to do "boy scout things". Which we actually worked with the leaders of the boy scouts to do some joint trips and the two could be separate but work together.
For what it is worth, I think a gold toilet named "America" is a perfectly valid, albeit odd and controversial piece of art which traditionally have been two objectives of art. I would tell Prager that it's a little hard to decry the loss of free speech and then complain about what a gold toilet named America says. As for things like late night TV, my advice would be to not watch it. It is consumer driven so turning off Steven Colbert and not supporting the show's advertisers is probably the best anyone can do. Personally, I still remember Carson, remember him fondly.

This was applauded by the left. So using that logic, why then is it a bad thing for boys to have their own space? Why is segregation applauded in one instance and denounced in the other? If girls can join the boy scouts can the reverse be true? What is the point of having two separate organizations at that point?

Yeah but they claim to be spreading the truth. If they simply claimed to be a conservative platform, there would be no problem. However, they claim they are a university and are teaching "courses", according to their ad. However they are simply spreading right wing propaganda. Both sides are bad in some ways and good in some ways. It isn't a political party destroying the country, it's the lack of compromise between the two. If the leggy and right work together, a lot more people would be satisfied.
