Thank you for your work. I enjoy your series. I was thinking there was something missing in your drawings though, then I got it: weighted lines! You should add some weight to some of your lines, to highlight the difference between foreground/background, or contour/inside lines. Like they do in product design. It would help visualize the forms better, especially on realistic drawings of complex shapes like pelvis.

I already learned this stuff from his channel before I bought his Anatomy Course. (Highly recommend, by the way!) I have this stuff on brown paper in a leather skin, making it look like an old 18th century doctor's notes, or something. (The wording is in cursive too, haha.) I like vintage things, I guess.
Hi Katie, I find my information from many sources such as books, videos etc. which i reference throughout the study sessions. For the pelvis in particular though, I found this bucket method from proko to be the best - so I suppose this video can be used as some additional guidance.
I've been trying to avoid doing this but fuck it. I'll just speak my mind. I watched a Marco Bucci video a while back and it made me realize I could help you. It made me realize the the people telling you that you are doing great are only not helping you, but are actually hindering your progress overall. There's two things I want to address but I'll keep it short. First, your channel was the best thing ever. I really loved the vlogs, their setting, editing, music, drawing, talk, you name it. It was all great. But you don't do that anymore. Second is about your art. You don't seem to be making progress in a way. Your images are very detailed and textured, but incredibly flat. I believe the reason is because you aren't good at shading form(as you admitted in a really old video). When you work from reference, it looks dazzling, perfect I might add. But when you draw from imagination, your images have no shadows, or deep shadows at all, it just doesn't have a good value range. It does when you work from photos, but not when you draw from imagination. Don't take this as hate or anything of the sort. I don't know you, or what you've been up to. I visit your channel sometimes to rewatch the old videos, but I stopped watching the new ones years ago, so I may be speaking out of terms here, but anyway, I had to get that out of my chest. I wanted to make this comment 2 years ago, but I just didn't really know how. I just couldn't just say nothing anymore. Have a good day, and if possible, please make more content like the stuff you used to do.
@@BC-sh7en i guess , it's more like he is learning art basic and isn't using shading as a crutch to make the drawing look 3d. he is learning forms it seems

But I think you point "learning art basics and isn't using shading as a crutch to make the drawing look 3d" lacks logic and contraddicts itself in more ways than I could possibly hope to explain.
@@BC-sh7en i'm not really a fan of the channel and i barely watch the guy but that's fine. What i actually mean is that shading is used as a tool to show 3d volumetric form and add depth , but if one do not already have a basic understanding of the 3d forms at hand , than the shading will look flat or , the drawing will look wrong . That's art fundamentals , shading is the least important thing you'd need to worry about .Understanding 3d volumetric form is the most valuable . Dan has trouble drawing simple ellipses in perspective which he stated himself. He is furthermore learning that .

Great video but you need better lighting it is very hard to see
for drawing the skull I prefer Bammes's method of skull construction over loomis's construction
