This is an underrated youtube channel. I've watched most of these already. The ps3 is my favorite console even after having my 5 for a year. Some of these games are quite expensive now, in the US anyway.
Another winner PD! Appreciation for games that were just fun, and provided great value for money. Not every game needs to be a critically acclaimed 120 hour epic with levels of detail that can only best be appreciated by those 15 and under, aka those who don't have a job, a family, or a life that also demands their time and attention. Cheers!
I've watched the whole PS3 series. Scribbled down the games i found interesting. I found quite a few at different used stores: Dark Void, Remember Me, Dantes Inferno, Time Shift, and Syndicate. I am so excited. Thank you for renewing my love for the Playstation 3. 😊
Amazing to hear! Glad you’re liking the series so far and I hope you enjoy those games too. Good selection! New PS3 vid will be up within the next couple of weeks 👍🏼
Ps3 needs got some bangers. I played space marine several times and its awesome mowing down those orcs with big meaty hammers lol. Dark void is another gem that's not getting much attention.
Happy to see you do another fantastic list mate. I played Space Marine last year so I'm very pleased to see it on this list. But damn, I never knew Mercenaries 2 was available on the PS3 too. Definitely will hunt that one down.^^
Nice one mate, yeah I really enjoyed Space Marine, can’t believe it took me so long to play it! And yeah definitely pick up a copy of Mercenaries 2, was a lot of fun. It is starting to show its age quite a bit these days though so be prepared for that. Occasional screen tears, texture pop ins etc but still a load of fun to be had
@@thepolygondon9198 Oh, don't worry about this mate. Recently I appreciate older games more and more even with the evident parts that could be better. I'm actually playing more PS3 and PS2 now that I do PS4 and PS5. XD
Man, I've been trying to remember to finish up Space Marine for the past few months. Like, I keep thinking, "Man, I wanna play a third person shooter.... ooh, I got Space Marine on the PS3 I never finished!" and then I just..... don't play it, lol. I'm playing _Infamous 2_ and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions right now; my PS3 is as relevant in my console rotation today as my Series X. I'm trying to pick up a bunch of games for the library on eBay before stuff from that generation gets too stupidly expensive like games on the PS1/SAT generation. So I *really* gotta finish that up, ideally, before Saber Interactive finishes up Space Marine 2. Thanks for the reminder! *A LOT* of great stuff on this list. I'm a fan of arcade racers, and while I'm looking at DIRT Showdown and thinking "That actually reminds me of Dirt 5 in a lot of places" I think I'll look more into it, though I should pick up Blur instead I think - I already have Ridge Racer Unbounded, Split/Second, a lot of cult classic arcade racers from that gen. It's cool to know about Showdown now though! I have Bionic Commando - never could get into it much. The swinging feel is TOTALLY off. Spider-Man, it is *not,* but to people who enjoy it, props to them. It LOOKS very cool. I always _wanted_ to like it. I'm actually playing Transformers: Dark of the Moon now on PS3 too, and I have to say that's a bit of a hidden gem. The movie-licensed Transformers games are usually ignored for typical movie license game reasons, but Dark of the Moon _was_ developed by High Moon. So if people enjoyed War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron and want more of that, it's not as good, but it is still more of that good game design, y'know? Just with the different art style of the movie Transformers versus the Cybertron designs. Rise of the Dark Spark is another one that is worth a look if people liked the other Cybertron games. Both are very cheap on the PS3/360 currently.
Blur is fantastic! I’d say that needs to be in the collection first, incredible game 👌🏼 And thanks for reminding me about the Transformers games, I think I only have one of them, need to grab the others. I’ve heard good things about Dark of the Moon
I bought Warhammer earlier this week on ebay. I'm working on ps3 and ps4 games I missed while they are cheap or at least under $100. Yakuza dead souls is gonna hurt
@Ji99i3 yeah that’s the reason I’ve never pulled the trigger on it, heard it’s quite terrible actually. But I’m a sucker for a complete set and I have every other Yakuza game, it’s the only one I’m missing 😅
Man, all of these games bring back some good memories (well except the Atelier game you chose since I've only recently gotten into that series). Space Marine, still awesome to this day, can't wait for Space Marine 2. Dirt Showdown is still severely underrated and it was a shame the "sim" crowd hated it for how arcade they went. But as an offshoot title I think it works great and is great fun to boot. Mercenaries 2 might be one of the saddest endings for a game that I'm still pissed off about. Such a fun game, though it seems "most" people hated the sequel over the original. I thought World in Flames was insanely fun and a terrific open world playground of destruction (see what I did there!!! lol) and of course now it's delisted so I can't even get it on PC anymore. And yeah, I liked the Bionic Commando game as well. Not the best "reboot" style game but it was fun and had some neat ideas overall.
@@thepolygondon9198 Could be or it could just be because the studio was closed like what, 12 years ago I think now, they just can't license the game out anymore due to that? I don't know, but it sucks. Like I said I LOVED Mercenaries 2. It's not as bug free as we'd like, and it's a bit janky, but all the best games kind of have that jank if you think about it :D
I've been collecting PS3 games for the past 6 months or so, ever since my friend gave me his PS3 since he was done playing it. I've bought about 80 discs or so right now, and think I have all the ones I want to get, but every time I watch videos like these I end up adding to the ones I want to pick up! I've already got Warhammer 40K, and I've got the whole Atelier Dusk Trilogy on the Switch (you can buy an Asian copy that included all 3 games on the cart), but I haven't gotten around to playing any of them yet. I'd heard about Bionic Commando, but watching the gameplay shown in here makes me more interested in it, so if I see it when I'm out and about I may try grabbing it if the price isn't too high.
Nice! Yeah I’d say grab all the PS3 games you’re after sooner rather than later as the prices on some of them seem to climb on a weekly basis 😅 Nice one for the heads up on the Asia release of the Dusk trilogy, will keep an eye out for that. Cheers man 👊🏼
@@thepolygondon9198 Yeah, I've found it a good time to jump in to collecting games for the system. There are some that are rather costly, and the most I've personally paid for one of them is about $100, but most are still on the reasonable side. However, I can easily see that changing, especially if/when Sony decides to shut down the PS3 store or the games get delisted.
@allenc6277 nice! Yeah I picked those up too, could only get Heavens Vault on Switch tho which is a bit annoying as that’s the one I’m most keen on playing and really wanted that in the PS4 collection. Rising Hell looks like a lot of fun too. I haven’t cracked the seal on either yet so let me know how you get on once you play them 👍🏼

Great selection of games, loved Space marine and Dirt Showdown

Yeah man Dark Void is great, love that game! Featured it on a previous PS3 vid. A bit rough around the edges but lots of cool ideas

I've beeen championing Space Marine for years. I started to think I was the only one super excited to play the sequel 😅

bionic commando has a lovely story and in game cutscene ..
Everytime i see Mercenaries 2, i always say the Yahtzee line "Airstrikes 2, hooray for airstrikes"😂😂😂

Yeah man Dead Souls is something I missed getting when it was still around £15-20 i stupidly thought that was a bit much back then 🤦🏻♂️
Please don't do it guys! Dead souls is expensive because of hype it's really not that good!
@Ji99i3 yeah that’s the reason I’ve never pulled the trigger on it, heard it’s quite terrible actually. But I’m a sucker for a complete set and I have every other Yakuza game, it’s the only one I’m missing 😅

I don't remember if you covered Transformers Devastation before if not check it out, cheap beat em up with rpg elements
I haven’t yet but it is something I intend on covering as I love that game, my era of Transformers too

Playing Space Marine right now. I played it on 360 years ago, but picked it up on ps3. Looking forward to space marine 2
Same man, can’t wait for that to come out
Mercenaries 2 was great fun, flawed but fun. RIP Pandemic, great studio.
Yeah man, still hurts that they aren’t around anymore 😥
Glad you enjoyed Warhammer 40k!
Mate I loved it, thanks for reminding me to actually play it👌🏼

Just picked up Rising Hell and Heavens Vault as well.
