- This February marks 11 years for me as a hardcore Doggett and DSR fan. And I still love every second of it.
I decided a while ago I wanted to do a different kind of DSR / Doggett vid using real facts and quotes from cast,, fans and crew about season 8, Doggett and the Doggett and Scully Relationship (DSR). I think its worth while for people to know the other side of the opinion regarding the season and the idea of thier relationship.

Season 8 was on another level....it was so fresh and sleek, tight and you can tell they worked hard on it. After all the seasons I had seen, this was finally feeling like season 4 or 2, to me. Roadrunners and Via Negativa were perfect eps. Thanks for your words.
Season 8 is really special. Is touching because of Mulder abduction, fresh because of Dogget who's great character, really good boy, friend of Scully and Mulder, even if they hate him in first place xD
Music in this season was totally epic, Scully Serenade in every sad scene made me cry, made me feel the emotions of Scully and Skinner.
It was one of last seasons, but it was really, really good. For me - one of the best seasons, and You need to know I specially like the old ones.
Thank you so much! I completely agree with you and it was the same for me with how Doggett changed my love for the show and for older characters. There are a lot of fans who feel the same way and one of the biggest points I was trying to make with this vid was those sentiments and thoughts of those people whom rarely get heard.

I love your work and this is a beautiful vid. It's great to see there are plenty of other fans out there who recognised and fell in love with the wonderful, subtle, heartbreaking character that is John Doggett. He revitalised the show for me and made me excited to watch every night, and the dynamic between him and Scully was just fantastic. I loved Mulder, but once Doggett was on the scene, nothing else compared. The episodes he spent as Scully's partner will always be my favourites.
This is a wonderful vid! So amazing! Don't agree about Sculder being an immature relationship [Doggett sometimes treated Scully like a child...he did love her, however], but such a solid piece of work! I applaud you!!!!!

I love season 8! My very first season. I have a strong connection with it. It made me a fan of the show. Episodes like "Patience", "Roadrunners" and "Via Negativa" made me a Horror fan eventually. That's impact. :) Thanks for this.

I cannot understand how you can't see Doggett being in love with Scully. Apart from the fact that Robert Patrick admitted to playing it that way on purpose. In what ways did he feel for Reyes? He always looked pissed off with her....and then calm around Scully when she appeared. The producers took a massive U turn in season 9 when they decided not to explore DSR and implanted DRR on purpose (due to MSR fans being angry that DSR was made).

This vid is more about season 8 and how Scully and Doggett became very close in this season and not about how they totally changed Doggett, Reyes and Scully in season 9. They even talked about Doggett being in love with her in Daemonicus but never returned to that at all and decided to change it all. This was only to please MSR fans. Nothing else. Spotnitz enjoyed DSR, you can tell by the scripts.

Barbara was not jealous because she left John and I think she moved on. Even if she thought Reyes and Doggett could be together, does not make it right or correct. Its the script and its her point of view but she has not known Doggett and Scully together to make a judgement. Either way it was a stupid line that was out of place in an episode that was about finding her sons killer. I know she wants him to move on but it was random.
@AdamSandman hmm, sometimes ironic how some were closed minded they were at that time and even now.

@Rachelspicygirl Definately without a doubt a man and a woman together will make anyone think of romantic things but I do think there was more to Doggett and Scully than just being in the same room together. The tension, the care and the respect was huge and the writers wrote it that way. IMO they ditched everything they achieved with their relationship development once Mulder came back and that was a massive shame to me. Once I saw Scully with Doggett, everything changed 4me.
funny how close minded some x-files fans could be... personally I want to believe
@Rachelspicygirl DSR dont automatically hate MSR. I like the UST between Mulder and Scully in the early seasons. And some fans love both just the same. The X Files to me was in no way ABOUT romance, nor was it to me a love story of M/S. To me, it was an investigation show of paranormal. I simply love Doggett and seeing him with Scully & think she is better suited to him than Mulder. This would in no way affect how I watch the show before Doggett. I was a hardcore fan since S1.
@Rachelspicygirl I view the show in a completely different light. I dont watch it for MSR& never have done.That was not what the show was about to me.I loved the show for the stories, the paranormal &the way it was filmed.I do like some romance if I feel its right & unfortunately I dont think M&S are right nor romantic. I see 7 seasons of the show as the show of stories, not M/S love story.The relationships in the show were a PART of it I enjoy (like DSR), but its not all of it.
@Rachelspicygirl I think Mulder in S8 wasnt the same character I knew & loved. I started thinking that Scully & him didnt suit eachother since S5 & when Doggett came, it made me feel it even more.I prefer D/S together. There R nice moments between M/S still in some seasons & I enjoy them. I dont think they should have ended up together & IWTB is too depressing & badly made.I find their relationship in that film dysfunctional. But I dont find MSR to be the main thing of the show.
