  • WATCH IN 1080p HD!!!
    Here's yet another Soldano Clip, this time boosted with a Maxon od808, the Cab was a Mesa Stiletto mic'd with a single sm57 (see second pic).
    I was going for a thick and creamy sound with some juicy mids...kinda what a KSE fan would like

    Really? It seemed like metalheads have been stuck on Peavey 5150/6505 variants and Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers for the past decade or so...with the occasional Framus, ENGL, VHT/Fryette, and Krank enthusiast here and there. I'm sick of hearing about the next guy with an ESP or Ibanez going into a 5150. LOL

    @LasseLammert Ah interesting, logical approach. Proof it works in the video above haha, I'll have to re-examine my micing technique, never even occurred to me that walls/floors around the speaker have an impact (totally obvious to me now.) Thanks.

    That sounds great!!! But isnt that Soldano a high dollar head? Why does it need a pedal to sound so great? For the price of that head youd think Soldano would design it to sound that good all by itself.

    • @dreamsofcosmicoceans8105
      @dreamsofcosmicoceans8105 7 років тому +1

      All the pedal is doing is boosting the signal, cutting some bass and adding some mids. Many amps sound great with a boost in front and for some it's personal preference as some like to tighten up the amp.

  • @jessemccormick5623

    Sounds great. Why do you have the cab laying sideways? Is it just that you like that speaker in particular and it's easier ti mic it up that way?

    • @LasseLammert
      @LasseLammert  7 років тому +2

      Jesse McCormick, if the bottom speaker in that particular cab sounds best, I'm flipping the cab to have that speaker further away from the floor to reduce comb filtering

    Weil in der Box der Speaker unten links am besten klingt, also mikrofonier ich den.
    Dazu drehe ich die Box aber, damit der Speaker und das Mic nicht so dich am Boden ist (weniger Reflexionen), normalerweise nehme ich dann auch noch die Rollen ab (einfach bei Mesa, nervig bei Marshall), damit nicht rappelt.
