    Thank you for shedding light on this important subject. I own an electronics recycling center and I do my best to recycle and separate all electronics all while repurposing whatever can be repurposed so that it does not end up in landfills or dumpsites like this.
    I recently started making videos on my recycling process and would greatly appreciate all the support I could get!

Im told everytime i drop off my recycling, they don't take this or that. Recycling is only done if it turns a profit, not to save the earth.....sickening....

      Manufacturers are not required to be responsible for their product once it goes out the door, and most crap people own does not have any inherant value such was the failure of the PET plastic recycling that costs more than making the bottle out of virgin plastic.

    • @levi-rj4et
      @levi-rj4et 2 роки тому

      @@chrisbrown-jw4ce I understand with your comment that you do not work in the plastics recycling business since PET is not mainly recycled to make bottles again, that volume is completely dwarfed by textile fiber manufacturers, that is the main use for PET bottles, and you're right in saying that PET bottle is not as good as virgin plastic nevertheless, the price is not the same, PET is way cheaper to get, compared to virgin fiber, so at the end even bottle manufacturers save cost on raw materials by taking PET flakes as 60% of the mixture against going 100% virgin plastic

    A wide variety of things could be done to reduce the rate of electronic waste.
    One thing we can do is to stop replacing our electronics too frequently.
    Why throw something away if it's not broken?
    Whenever people replace their televisions or whatever, the old one can be sold or given away for free as long as it still works.
    In the event it is faulty or damaged, it's possible it could be repaired or sold for spare parts.

    This is a place in the lovely country of GHANA. There are mostly beautiful places we like for people to see of every country, but every country has its Ignored parts. And the well known places like USA, some of Europe, may dump toxic, chemical, electronic wastes in other countries that their citizens may not know about n some may not care, but at the end of the day, Our country's government also allows for the dump. It is what you make it or in this case what our country's leaders make it. Watch the MV "Life's what you make it" by Placebo.

    The value of the precious metals in e-waste is very high. Do these companies that send e-waste to third world countries not realise just how much the metal are worth. An oil drum full of computer CPUs is worth £24,000 in gold and that's excluding the other rare earth metals.

    • @egoryakubenku34
      @egoryakubenku34 4 роки тому +1

      Whilst yes that is true, if you look at the process of how they extract gold from computer parts, it is extremely difficult and expensive to do so, meaning that £24,000 might be £6,000 if you are lucky but don't forget the import taxes as you can not do this in most countries, and the commission that the gold sellers take by selling your gold to them, and on top of alll of these remember it is not that easy to get a Oil drum full of cpu's especial if you have to pay people to get there Cpu's.

      You dont want to know the answer to that question a metal recycler collects it before it is collected and probably shipped off to another country for them to refine it back down make another electronic items which is used then breaks and probably shipped back to africa as ewaste.
