I lived just outside takoradi my dad was in the royal navy at the time January 1962 until August 1963. only part I recognise is the circular road past the markets. centre strip of road then was open sewer storm drains. We stayed in a services estate known as airport ridge. The army estate was I think called tannacrom.
Wow! nice video, I h've never been to Takoradi and taught is like all other Regions of Ghana with those bad roads and poor infrastructure but surprise to see these good structures and up-to- date roads, infact, i like it. I now have the idea of Takoradi, a very nice place, thankx for the upload.

My dad (Sean Murray) was a building construction teacher (and the only Irishman!) in Accra, in the mid 60's. I remember our family taking a BOAC VC-10 from Heathrow just to see him. There was no butter, so we used treacle or Golden Syrup. A supply ship would arrive once a month. I remember 'shopping' at a grocery store with, literally, semi bare shelves. We used 'Nestle dried milk' for tea or in our cornflakes (not Kellogs). I'd use my dad's SW radio to get the BBC world service or, on occasion, radio Australia. He died in 2014 at 91: instagram.com/p/BQMebfXAE67/ Anybody recognize him?
My grandad worked for the British government back in the 60's which lead to my mum being born in Lagos, Nigeria until she was 11 then lived here till she was like 16/17 before my grandad and family returned to the UK. Interesting to view the places she once lived.
May I make suggestions to the good videos you are producing? Next time, play local FM stations wherever you do recordings so that viewers can have a natural feel of the places being recorded.
