You need to force the water to overflow from the top and out to the bottom so that the sediment is on the bottom and the clean water passes through the filter layer to the top so that the sediment does not be on top.

1. No bracing - It's too dangerous. All of the weight are disbursed on the vertical sump's glass pieces. It'd be taking a toll on the silicone trying to hold it all together. 2. Water Level Too High - Any minor choke on the first sump chamber (usually sponge / wool easy to choke) will send the sump over flooding. And in this way the sump is actually sitting on the tank, the water will overflow out of the tank and dry out your tank - fish will die. - Consider building a sides and middle bracing on your fish tank. - Make the sump slight smaller so it sits on your side and middle bracing. This way any flood will send the water back into the tank - won't kill your fish if you're not at home.
I hope you read it! I have a request and a challenge for you. Can you make a 2 level filter like the one you are making now? And it must be placed under the table and there must also be variations to make it look luxurious!!

I would love to build a filter like that for my six footer...just an idea when cutting holes in glass. Use plastasine to make a well, it holds the liquid (cutting fluid) better

카메라 렌즈때문에 약간 휘어보일뿐 휘어지지 않습니다.
가운데 부분에 지지대를 달아 주어야 할 것 같아요 아무래고 무게 때문에 유리가 깨지거나 여과기가 터지면 물난리나요 ㅎㄷㄷ
네..유리 자체무게도 상당해서 보강수조나 10T 이상 수조에서만 사용가능 할것 같습니다.말씀하신대로 지지대 설치해 주면 더 좋구요. 아직 사용하고 있지는 않습니다. 사용하면 꼭 그렇게 하도록 하겠습니다. 감사합니다.

제가 만든건 8T 수조에 보강대 5T인데 실제작시 5T유리로 만들면 그나마 무게가 많이 줄어들것 같은데 포멕스로 만든것보다는 더 나갈겁니다.
해외 사이트에 1만8천원에 비슷하게 파네요^^;;전 그냥 사는게 맘 편할듯해요...ㅋ금손 인정요

유리 상면은 개인적으론 비추입니다. 왜냐면 좀쓰다가 보면 물때도 장난 아니고 이끼에 분진까지....정말 부지런하지 않으면 쓰기 어렵다고 생각해요.

이중으로 하는 이유는 여과재 넣고 가동하면 나중에 슬러지가 물 흐름대로 이동하다가 이중격벽 사이에 막혀서 가라앉게 됩니다. 그러면 슬러지만 이중격벽 틈사이에 싸이펀을 넣어서 청소하면 상면여과기 청소주기를 늘릴수 있습니다.
