Can you do a video on NAS with the BK? I'm a traditional Motorola guy and I understand all that's associated with programming trucked systems. But I definitely wanna learn more about BKs and what they have to offer. Sounds like it's not as technical and demanding as Motorolas CPS and it might be a good alternative for those that like public safety radios.

The biggest challenge I’ve had, is coming up with the band plan. However, I learned on Friday how to circumnavigate that. I’ll share all that in my next video hopefully. Hello, one interesting question on the 9000. At 7:07 you mention the radio will display a TG when using (0) as system scan, would you mine telling us what lines you assigned on your radio display (on front & top) to show it. When I tried all I get is the radio ID, not a active TGID, that would be cool. Amos in Denver.
I would like it if you made a video on how you programmed non-affiliate scan in the BKR9000. I am working on setting up two of them that I just received. Still working out some bugs and getting the code plug setup for them. Wondering how you set them up regarding the trunked systems, GPS, MDC-1200, text messaging and setting up a wildcard zone for a trunked system.
For sure, it’s on the list of videos to make, but it will probably be about two weeks before I can do it. This next weeks are really really busy week for me. In the meantime, I really do encourage you to go check out the BK technologies, instructional videos. They are what I learned from, and do clearly explain how to do non-affiliate scanning.
Do you know if the BK9000 has any plans to include DMR? Would be a huge competitor to the VP8000 and with the ability to do easy NAS would make it very favorable for a lot of users. From what I’ve heard Kenwood is almost impossible to do NAS let alone safely.
@@AdventureCruiser if it is possible that may be my new radio. I have an APX 8k right now bit if I can safely do NAS on a BK and have DMr it would be a game changer.
I’ve spoken with somebody at BK and they say that it is physically possible, the hardware is all there they simply haven’t written the code for it. I suggest we all nicely reach out to our various BK sales outlets and tell them how nice it would be to have DMR. I think BK will answer the call if they truly understand how helpful this would be.

Very good I’m a proud owner of an Apx 7000 XE with full capabilities and a 6000 xe with the safety yellow also has full capabilities with it and lastly, I own a Harris XG 100 that works just fine. I was debating on whether I should get an 8000 or the BK radio the BK 9000 looks like it is rugged and I’m about that rugged. Thank you by the way, I enjoy your videos.

Great question, DMR would be a huge benefit to this radio. I’ll start researching.

The Moto’s are 30 channel conventional, 50 trunked per system
Will the BKR 9000 or 5000 do multi system scan (scan talk groups on two or more trunking systems at the same time)?
Yes, but only a total of 16 channels/talkgroups through the Dual Mode Scan option.
Any experience with the Viking radios. The new vp8000 is supposed to be all band, analog, p25, dmr, and nxdn.
