I remember when AJ hit the 3 home run against the cubs. It was an afternoon game and we went to pick up Sean from band camp. I was pissed that I couldn’t see the game but the radio call by Farmer was glorious Farmer was a St. Rita boy)
Great stuff yeah AJ's revenge I always called it I was at that game at Wrigley and oh the Cub fans were so pissed and I loved it
I’d say the rivalry between the Sox and Cubs during the time these two played for their respected clubs, was the last time the rivalry felt like a big deal around here.
Sox fan so grateful for 2005. Ozzie, AJ , Paulie, the whole gang! Took the other team in town a dozen years and a lucky rain delay to catch up 🙂😉

To say the Cubs Sox rivalry was intense a girl I worked with went to a Cubs Sox game with her friends she was big for the Sox when she split with her friends Cub fans saw her and said YOU SUCK YOU SUCK YOU SUCK Another time I read a story at a kids birthday party the adults were down stairs and a fight broke out over the Cubs and Sox the Cub fan kicked the Sox fan in the head KNOCKED HIS EYE OUT. Last I lived near Chicago but worked for a company out of Bama and this lady came in and told us about the company home office and how tight the rivalry is between Auburn and Alabama that there is nothing in the world like it. And I told her bullshit you ain't seeing nothing like when the Cubs and Sox get together for a game in Chicago. Just that chat in the room got both sides going and I told the lady see what I mean she laughed and said you win😁😁😁😁😁

That rivalry was TENSE. There were a couple deaths from fights in that era

I remember those fights. South vs North hate was strong.
Those were the days, ha!
What it was seen as South Side were blue collar, real baseball fans and we viewed the Cubs fans as fair weather fans that only went to wrigley as a hangout. Was it true, who knows but the hate was strong 😂
Tied with Fisk, AJ was my favorite catcher. Smart caller and a clutch hitter. When he was on the twins he was feared when he came up to bat. Old school catcher
