Hawk Harrelson: "I didn't retire, I GOT retired" | Foul Territory

- #FTLive was graced by the presence of an absolute legend in Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. Hawk takes us behind the scenes of his illustrious career including how his broadcasting career came to an end. He takes us back to his playing days and tells stories about Ted Williams, inventing batting gloves, and what it's like to be a GM. Hawk shares his expectations for the Chicago White Sox this season (spoiler alert: he and AJ do NOT see eye to eye) and a whole lot more.

Love this guy. Wish he was still calling Chicago baseball
He was such a homer, but I miss the Hawk and his old-school style. He’s still a die-hard fan and wanted the team to win at least. AJ was the catalyst he wasn’t liked, but brought fire and spark to a team with bad hitting and great pitching. We won the ring, because of pitching, speed, and defense.
The fact Hawk mentioned his convo with Ted Williams just blows me away.
Love Hawk and AJ!
Back when the Sox had some personality along with Ozzie
Whan an absolute treat hearing Hawk share those stories. I could listen to him all day. Living legend, HOF good dude.
I LOVE this! Hawk needs his own podcast where he just tells stories!
Agreed! Call it “Hawk Talk”
Miss you Hawk!!!
Heard that voice most of my life lol man 05 was a great year when we won the series
Grew up listening to Wimpy and the Hawk
Man hearing hawk say Sox will have a bad season is almost undigestable
I know, but the team had high expectations two years ago. Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez were supposed to be stars. They’ve been injury prone, and the pitching is underachieving. They strike too much and need more contact and speed. They can either win it all, or win 80 games. Everyone needs to over achieve.
@@CalebWilliams2030 Some of these Sox players, I wonder if they are injury prone, or are injuries prone to them
Turned out to be correct unfortunately
Turned out to be 100% correct. If Hawk thought 22 was the worst, 23 is almost unimaginable.
@shawnmcgowan6405 yep he sure did. And Hawk was right on the reason. Soft, quitting players who don't want to compete or lead. These bum of players have escaped accountability for everything.
LOOKING BACK HAWK NAILED IT @ 18:30
Imagine if Hawk was broadcasting this year for the Sox, he would have called them out so much that the Sox would have fired him. LOL! I would love to shot a round of Golf with Haw, just the hear his stories!!!
WaAAAY Back WaaaaaAaaayyy back you can put it on the booooaaaard Yeeeeeeeees!!!!!!! (White Sox t.v. announcer Ken "The Hawk Harrelson" who is 82 was forced to retire! LEGEND)
AJ looks uncomfortable when Hawk complains about the Sox organization. He keeps trying to change the subject when Hawk starts complaining
I like this show,. Im subscribing.
Hawk was awesome.
The 1993 season with Hawk & Wimpy, is my favorite baseball season ever … and I’m a Cub-fan.
Love hawk and ia definetly 1 of my favorite announcers of all time, but by the end of his career you can just tell this man was always 1 sentence away from saying something that would have gotten him fired. So the forced retirement was more looking out for his legacy
AJ belongs in the Hall of Fame? Glad to see the Hawk hasn't changed when it comes to his lack of perception/reality.
Broke my heart when the Red Sox traded him.
Dude on the right looks so baked!
It's so sweet how AJ knew right when the hemorrhoid story was coming.
One of my favorite things Hawk would say is "Don't tell me what he hit, tell me when he hit it".
he gone!
Duck snort
Matt Abbatacola
You can put it on the board, yasss!
Joe West!
Man I love Hawk but he is all over the place now. Age gets the best of everyone tho
Hawk's mic wasn't on
🐐
Every year he was announcing games for the White Sox I liked him less and less. The final straw for me was when he picked a fight on air with DJ and embarrassed himself, Derrin J. , the White Sox Organization and its FANS! He was a name dropping, self absorbed blowhard! He would spew about hitting like he was the Babe himself! Piersall said it best about Harrelson - .237 lifetime BA. YOU SAID ITJIMMY! I’m so glad he’s gone - had he stayed we would have lost Steve Stone - the smartest guy in all of BASEBALL!
Possibly the most annoying broadcaster ever. Joe Buck looks down on him
Good as he should of
Great! He needed to be retired! He was terrible! YOU CAN PUT THAT ON THE BOARD! 💯
His non stop bitching about the strike zone and umpires just wore on me.
those damn hemroids lol
Glad he is gone! He was terrible in the box unless you liked to hear an old guy ramble about nonsense for 9 innings!
The most annoying homer announcer ever. For some entertainment, look up compilations of Hawk calling walk-off losses.
The guys wearing their hats backwards is so tired.
It's more comfortable
Ken Griffey Jr hater
Unless your 16 & under - don't be backwards hat guy. DEF don't be middle aged backwards hat guy. Usually worn in this matter because said person is bald so the lower to the brow the better 'ala Fred Durst. It looks ridiculous and I 100% agree with what Colin Cowherd has to say about backward hat guy. Looks like your still a kid in a frat house and nobody takes you seriously.
I mean, A.J. wore his hat backwards for his job. I think he gets a pass.
@@tDADDY09 Valid point.
People trash Joe Buck for his homerisms, yet those same fans love rhis old head ? Worse gm in the history of sports. Homer for his own team and complaining about changes in the game
