I grew up in California and during the 60s we had a couple of Buddy Guy and Junior Wells albums that got thrashed to death. Never got to see him play live though. Been down under for 45 years now. Back in the late 80s Buddy came to Sydney, his first time in Oz. I saw his first show at the Enmore Theater. I had seen Jimi, Jeff Beck, Clapton, Jimmy Page, Rory Gallager in the 60s but that night in Sydney I understood, unmistakably, that Buddy was the link between the older bluesmen and that next generation. Some shows stay with you forever...thank you Buddy.
I saw Buddy April 22 2016 live in Toronto. He is simply the greatest Blues guitarist and singer I have ever heard perform at only 79 years young! The power of him playing loud and fast or slow and soft is next to unbelievable. Keep on playing Buddy and God bless you. I hope to see you perform again in Toronto next year.
This is one of the best Buddy performance what I have seen. Amazing Buddy. Also very good Tony Z and Jason Moynihan with saxophone. Great performance. I am happy that you enjoyed this video.
I've seen Buddy live twice now in Sydney and think he's brilliant, this would have been a tremendous concert to attend especially loved the keyboard and sax. Man I got chicken skin !
Buddy was just a kid-like em- when I first saw him in the South Side clubs. I still hits my guts at 72- but, I will not disparage EC's performance of this song- not the same, but equal. My teen years were spent sneaking to the Loop, but veering South to those clubs where I might be the only Caucasian. I was treated kindly and always welcomed be cause I was entranced. ( Got beers too since I was a trusted regular, but I laid low so as not to offend some who felt I was out of place. They could not sense my awe and respect. But, no one was permitted by the employees to mess with me. If eyes are open, love shows.
The Color Of FIre Vi essa fera tocando no free jaz festival e fiquei petrificado com a dinâmica e expressão desse gênio do blues! O cara brinca com a guitarra! Solar é uma diversão para ele! Absolutely a moving and emotional experience just watching this video. Incredible performance by all of them! God bless the Blues and the gift Buddy Guy has given all of the world.
Ele começou a chamar atenção.
