  • Recently had my mate Shayno from SKCFAB 4X4 install the new JRP Edge water temp gauge.
    This was installed in a 1996 LN107 Toyota Hilux 2.8l 3L.
Can’t trust the old Hilux factory gauges so now I know exactly what the temps are doing in this old boy!
Hope this video can help someone else if they install one of these. There’s a few of Shayno’s tricks in here that’re good to know!

Mate I love it hey, it’s the only digital gauge I’ve owned so I’ve got nothing to compare it to, but I certainly can’t fault it. Looks great, seems to give an accurate reading when comparing the reading to a temp gun pointed at the thermostat housing where the sender is located.

What temperature did you set your alarm to? Mines reading 98 degrees Celsius up a long incline

I set mine for like 105 I think… can’t remember but these old rigs can get got under stress for prolonged periods.
I’ve got mine getting down to 82 degrees doing 110km on the highway now. Going up a long, steep windy range it got up to 98 degrees but as soon as it flattened out it came back down to 82.
