I was taught to twist wires to make a good mechanical connection before soldering, rather than using solder as glue. Cut one wire longer than the other, so the splices don't end up side by side, this makes a much neater repair.
hey i broke the handle on my gotrax g4 handle clean off at the base. do i have to replace the entire handle with the bell, wire and everything. or can i just get the lever by itself and replace that because that's all i need replaced.

i was taught the western union splice as the best splice to use when splicing wires and then solder it.

I have an Apollo v2
I ordered a new left brake handle
Only it came w no vsl connectors
Do I cut the old vsl connectors and wire them in or what?
Soldering... frick, my only weakness... I knew it was trouble when it walked in with those loose cables T_T

Another AAA infomercial
Next time just loosen the brake nut in the back and the brake lever will loosen to take it out with ease, first try🤷🏽♂️
