Going down to what I expect to be 30Hz +-3db with minimal roll off, I doubt if one needs a Sub. Not much music at 30Hz not alone lower, let's say 20Hz other than record rumble, although some huge pipe organs can go down that low.
When I A/B the Kef LS50 meta to the JBL L52 and GoldenEar BRX, I thought the Kef was not good (too beamy, heavy, light on bass, and had plastic binding nuts.) #1 GoldenEar BRX #2 JBL L52 #10 Kef LS50 Meta source=Apple Music lossless
Years ago I did a double stack of LRS with subs crossed over at 70 hz 6db slope, sounded great. I think upgrading the passive x-over would have helped even more.😊
I bought the Arendal 1723 in January 2023 after watching your review. Did not regret it at all. They really are fabulous. Paired them with the CSS 1TDX surrounds and 2TDX center with upgraded crossovers. Receiver is Integra DRX-8.4. Built 28 acoustic panels from scratch. I am in audio heaven.
The alternative rec to the LS50 Meta is the KEF Q350, the sound of which I preferred very much anyway; less clinicla, more acoustic. And the scaling aspect is there, too - the more quality you put into them, the more they keep giving you.
Excellent update and breakdown. I demoed the tribe towers, wasn't as crazy about them as you are, and returned them. I would love to see you review the newer KLH kendalls.
Jay, please explain why the original KLH Kendall speakers with Kevlar cone material are better than the new version? The specifications KLH provides say so on paper. Have not seen a direct comparison. I have a pair and think the originals are a good value with better bass response
What a nice job Jay. The vintage speaker from the later 70’s I remember most was the Cizek Model 1. A 10” two way Acoustic suspension, crossover at 1500hz with a flat impedance curve and a Q of .6 or 1 and a foam covered front baffle for defraction. Set up like the KLH 5 with the Q at .6 the bass was exactly as you describe the benefits of Ac Sus. Roy Cizek a blind golden eared designer who worked for the East Coast AC speaker companies previously developed these. Pair them with an Onkyo A10 integrated.
I heard a model 5 and concluded that acoustic suspension was the way to go. I ended up buying an old set of Advents for $50, spent another $50 on new crossover caps and a reform kit. I didn't get to test side by side with the model 5 , but the Advent has every bit of the acoustic suspension I was hoping for.
Transpuls 1500's speakers by Magnat cost me $1,000 dollars for the pair. I'm thinking there's a reason why these speakers are no longer available. They sound too good for the money and this disrupts the speaker market! Those Klippel tuned 15" paper woofers make think these other speaker guys are just effing around with tricks and gimmicks! It makes me wonder what Magnat could do to the Transpuls with another $2,000 dollars of engineering, components, and tweaks added to the price.
Great video, love the speaker smorgasbord! I'm still listening/enjoying my red Tekton Lores that I purchased after watching your review a couple of years ago, Maybe in a couple of more years I'll spring for those Arendals, they do look compelling.
have a pair of KLH Kendalls , looking to replace them with something like the Lintons for a warmer sound. I had a pair of Kenwood 4 ways thirty years ago and let them go 😢
I also have the Kendall's and have played around with placement. I have them about 2' from the wall in a small living area. Also, have you experimented with placing the foam inserts into either port? I don't find them to be boomy. I also have an EQ to play with sound.
I am using Focal Electra 1008BE but I still missed my KEF LS50 , with IOTAVX SA3 + PA3 stack + REL T5 subwoofer, the sound of this combo was really magical. In opinion you really can’t do better in around under £3K
I am very, very surprised that the KLH Kendalls are in this list ! I have them for over a year and i still can’t get use to them. I do like the over all tonality but i find them a little bit boomy. Not on all songs but on many.
In 1980 I bought a big pair of Pro-9 TL transmission line speakers (Falcon crossovers, Kef B139 bass, Peerless midrange and mine had Elac metal-dome tweeters). I let them go about 15 years ago. Fortunately they now belong to a good friend, so I still get to hear them regularly. Would buy similar again if my budget didn't stretch to Lowthers. I would not swap them for my Lowther horns but I would really miss them if I didn't get to visit...
AAD Phil Jones Silver Reference 1. We’ve all had speakers we thought were fantastic at the time, sold them and now wonder if they were actually as good as we remember…
Great video Jay! I really miss my PMC Ob1i - shouldn’t have sold them. I have the Focus SE now which I absolutely love and will never sell even if I experiment with others.
I‘ve heard amazing loudspeakers and systems. None came close to the Tribe Tower. In my ears it is the only speaker that doesn’t sound like a speaker. It becomes the instruments it performs 🤩🤤 “tonally addictive“ and PRAT and speed like no other 🤯
I had the Totem Tribe Towers and loved them for some time. They we're my entry into tower speakers as my space is limited and had mostly standmounts prior. The TTT are everything you stated with their tonality and soundstage width and overall sound. I've always paired them with a sub as they definitely need them. What was lacking for me is the visceral mid bass punch. The punch to the chest sensation that you get with percussions such as the kick drums. I find that most speakers are not designed to make the bass to mid balance especially good to give a realistic impression of percussions. Many speakers are overdamped through the bass meaning you hear more of the harmonics instead of the fundamental tones, so you have to turn the speaker up loud for it to sound natural. Fast forward to my current speakers are the Borresen X2s which you have and reviewed. Still breaking them in but already the Tribes pale in comparison in this area and completely blow the Totems away at least with my setup and my room. The X2s are considerably larger but the slim design is what made them fit in my room and have given me that bass authority that I was looking for but also excels beyond in the overall frequency range from the airy detailed highs to the fastest bass I've ever heard. Price wise the TTT and X2s are relatively close.
I love listening to good vintage speakers on my vintage amplifiers..............and I don't get a headache or listening fatigue as happend so many times with new high end stuff.....very high performance but lacking coherence and harmony ...good and exellent, quite impressive at first listening for demos at the dealer but not for long periods of listening at home or at a lower level at night . Time tells what is good and when it's gone you know that is was good....because you miss it !
Got my JBL studio 580 in front, each sitting on it's matching studio 550 sub. (Only being used as stands to get the speaker over my bed because I don't need extra bass) and elac ub5 on the sides, power with a denon, eq'ed by Audyssey. Took running eq about 100 times, and towing speakers but I finally got it where I like it. I'm happy with this arrangement in my bedroom. Feel -90% to upgrade. When you are liking most of your music more than you usually ever have you know you've got the right speaker for yourself. When I look at speakers I'm only curious now but I enjoy the JBL concert, bass heavy, but clean sound (lucky me). This is the first set up, and I've had probably 10 different ones, where I've got to listen to the music rather than critiquing the speakers. They aren't really the best at anything I would imagine but do everything well enough. Highs aren't the most extended or clean but it works. Detail retrieval isn't pointing out every breathe but nothing ever seems to be lacking. Imaging happens sometimes that a sound comes from somewhere else it's seems but mostly it's just filling the room with music I can actually hear all the instruments. Mid-range, though sometimes the box chuffing can be annoying is rarely an issue and is much better mid-range than I give it credit for. But the cherry is the bass and how it brings it all together. For a $600 set on sale and a $400-$500 in back, a $150 center and $550 receiver, I'm sure it's no $20k system but I don't even get to listen to this enough. No need to spend more money, I need more time to spend with what I have. It really is just an enjoyable system that I'm happy with. I'm an audiophile, or, at least, an extremely critical audio listener and I used to think JBL is what normies would buy, like bose or Sonos, but I'm sold. I even bought JBL earbuds and they are a total smash hit. If audio reviewers said this they would be out of a job. Most likely a lot of speaker companies would go out of business. And everyone would have to find something else to do or they would be using that time listening to their music. Sincerely, Me 🐏
I actually haven’t sold any speakers that I regret selling yet. That’s mainly because a lot of speakers I used to own where pretty cheap and not really that great. I probably do need to get rid of some of the speakers I have lying around the house though.

Man! I got these RTR two ways, with 8" paper drivers in 1972. They went loud. I want those back! Not to replace my speakers, but for the rumpus room or something. RTR made systems with many drivers, 4 ways. Not for me, but I want these.
Hi Jay, wish you discussed amplifier recommendations for the Totem Tribe. I have Totem Element Embers, which I think are fantastic speakers and probably have a similar sonic signature to the Tribes. My integrated amp, a Musical Fidelity X- A 200R, seemed just right for my old Totem Model 1s, but my gut feeling is that something more analytical might be a better match for the Embers. Getting the equipment mix right seems so important for the system overall and is so helpful from the reviewer as they typically have a good amount of gear to “mix and match”. Thanks for your reviews, they are insightful.
Would the Tekton double impacts, be a good comparison for the Arendal? I bought the double impacts off of your recommendation, and I’m wondering if I should have bought the Arendal speakers. Did I make a mistake?
I am 99% sure that the original KLH Model 5 was not offered as a kit. I bought a new pair of them in 1972 when I was working at an audio repair shop part time in college. I got them at 50% off MSRP which manufacturers offered to employees of retail dealers and authorized repair shops (dealer cost was 40% off MSRP). Henri Kloss (the K in KLH) Kloss co-founded Acoustic Research (AR) with Edgar Villchur in 1954. So obviously KLH designs were somewhat similar to AR, but Kloss designed them both (along with Villchur at AR). The original KLH 5 had 2 midranges drivers side-by-side instead of the modern one that has one midrange, but the modern midrange drivers "look" similar to the original KLH model 5, even though they are obviously completely new designs. For example, even though there is only one midrange on the modern Model 5, the metal flange (somewhat unusual shape) on the midrange driver looks almost identical to the original and was obviously custom made to look that way. Also, the original Model 5 tweeter had a screen cover over it like the modern Model 5. The beveled edges of the original cabinet were somewhat similar, but the original was thicker and overall I think the speaker system was heavier than the modern version.
@@Winterfell1066 I don't know, maybe Jay said hit and it was my mistake. I don't think the Model 5 was as big a hit as the AR 3a or the Advent Loudspeaker, also designed by Henry Kloss when he left KLH and started Advent to develop a low-cost projection television, but had trouble financing the leading-edge research and development. To earn some money, Kloss decided to build a high-performance low-cost dual driver speaker system called the Advent Loudspeaker, and it was very popular. When I got my KLH 5's in 1972 it was not sold at retail in Austin TX or San Antonio, and I got mine directly from KLH because the repair shop I worked at was an authorized repair shop for KLH (and and just about every other brand). I don't recall if it was even possible to get stuff like that "mail-order" in 1972. I only heard about the KLH Model 5 because the owner of the repair shop I worked at had a pair, connected to a Phase Linear 200 power amp and playing a pre-recorded tape on a Revox reel-to-reel at 15 IPS, and I was blown away when I heard it.
I have the LS50 meta’s with Hegel H390 and the Dynaudio HS. Both speaker sets are great. Kefs are the best for vocals, Dyns have it for the bass and power.
Totally different sounding speakers. The Borreson are very impressive, with tremendous speed, accuracy and detail. Which will drop your jaw ... for at least 10 min. After that, I found them quite fatiguing due to the exacting and clinical sound. I found myself listening more for details than just listening to the music. With the Buchardts you give up a little less detail, speed and transparency, but they are much warmer, more musical speakers that are less fatiguing, IMO. If you are looking for a fast & hyper detailed speaker, Borreson are amazing. But I like musical and less fatiguing speakers, so the Borreson sound is not for me.
I had to sell my Tannoy 385 HPD ARDENs many years ago because of financial reasons. I bought some Tannoy Berkeleys 6 months ago and have had a true ribbon super to them to ad a hint of top end to them. The really need a bigger Arden size cabinet to complete it though.
I would buy the Klipsch RP8000F again. Big bass, big soundstage, neutral and not even close to the typical bright Klipsch sound. Sold it, because even neutral spakers are not for me, I'm leaning more towards the warmer sound that is exactly what you prefer.
I bought the Kef R3's because of your review Jay. Never looked back. Sold my NS-555's, sold my Monitor Audio silver 100's. Just happy this my R3's and twin subs.
Love your videos Jay, I really like how you describe the sound and characteristics of the components along with your humorous little twists 😂😂What’s your view on the source point 10’s by Mofi? I want to pair them with a Hegel H190 which I know is one of your favs
Loved this analysis. Im the owner of the Buchardt S400 mk II amplified with a Linn Selekt with the Katalyst DAC. Im not sure if is the Linn Selekt pairing, but the Buchardts do not sound warm at all in my 11.5 x 11.5 feet room. How far from the wall you place it to improve the bass....
Hi Jay! I still have them, but are in storage, Spica TC-50's. They are imaging champs. But I was thinking... will the Kef LS50's have the same imaging of right - left, but also depth? I like that can focus on the placement of instruments and singers.
I miss my first affordable ”high-fee” speaker Q acoustics Concept 20. A wow moment campared to what I used to listen to before. Really nice sound, balanced.
Sonics aside of ideal point source, I never understand the aversion to towers when quality stands occupy the same footprint. I always appreciate the benefit of the larger skinny volume. Is it just the aesthetic?
Funnily enough I had 2 of these speakers! KHL model 5’s were great but we’re just too big for my space and aesthetics are a big part for me, I also had the buchardt s400 mk1, which were really good but I don’t think at the time I had the right amp pairing would really have loved to have kept them now though!
Funny thing.. I have the S400's with Willsenton R800 and then I put in a low cost Klipsch RP600M and it was totally different. Lively and bass more so than the S400s. Now I want to test something else. I've had Totem Hawks but too bright for me. Thinking Klipsch Forte but not sure hence me watching this vido.
What are your thoughts regarding the Sun Audio Purified 4? It is an active system where you can use your own DSP, power amps, and so on. It has Purifi and Bliesma transducers and a sealed alu spherical enclosure.
My biggest mistake was selling my BW 802n which I bought second hand for 3000 eur, the vocals on the speakers was on a another level, the huge body was exclent, I didnt get it from another speaker 3 years and Im really mising it and looking for pair of 802/801n or D series
Jay, I was quite disappointed to see you didn't include Tannoy Revolution XT-8F. You gave them a great review. I own them and love them. You didn't include, even though your review was so positive?
I have the totem tribe tower. Found a used pair at a decent price. I figured they are smaller than a set of bookshelf with stands. Run them with a Heaven11 amp. My Canadian setup. I like it, but I have problem with my room so I can’t give a final verdict. Added a Kef KC sub for a bit more bass
Tekton yes, but I already have a few so do not "miss them" Zu audio no, I have never liked or reviewed them, Magnepan LRS yes, and I still own a pair, but it has now been replaced with the LRS plus which I have not reviewed yet.
@@Jayiyagi Nice, appreciate the clarity. Definitely looking to make some changes in our set-up (and finding a place to actually listen is next to impossible these days). So sadly it is very important to have input and hearing the views of people like you who actually get to listen is key to even having a remote chance at success.
Jay, I still have my original KLH 5. I still have not seen anyone do a A/ B vintage vs current. I can get one of my pair to you if you’re up for it. I also have stacked Advents, have you ever listened to a double stack of large advents or Polk monitors 10a? Always enjoy your videos. Bill
This was such a helpful video! Wonderful cross section of types and brands, from the uber to the affordable. So many I want, but have a small space so am limited to choices. Totem Arros. I wish I'd kept them! And also a pair of Tekton Lores 😞 But am really loving my Spendor Classic 4/5's atm 🙏
The way Jay reviewed the Tribes I didn’t think he would ever sell them, I want to give them a listen soon. What are your thoughts, after owning them for a while? Cheers
@@Openeyesopenheart42 great imaging, sound stage and bass. They don’t only sound great for the size, they just sound great overall. I do find them a bit fatiguing on the top end compared to other speakers I’ve owned.
My ears are now 51 yrs old, what may be a little fatiguing to you may well be fine for me. I have been in construction for 30 yrs so my top end sensitivity is somewhat reduced. Thanks for your reply, I will keep it in mind when I have a listen. Cheers from Australia
i have the arro's and looking at tribe tower or forest sig's. everyone (including totem) push the tribes. i'm sure awesome but the top end worries me a bit, hence the forest sig. thoughts appreciated.
Love listening to you. I brought a set of soundartist 15inch concentric speakers after your review. I am wondering do you still listen to them? And what amplifier would you recommend
I was getting everything lined up In life to get a Porsche 911 (gts, gt3 or gt3 touring) but then the world changed and all of those cars doubled in price 🤣 Talk about a moving target. Guess I’ll stick to my child hood dream car that is in the garage already.
I would love to know what you think of Bryston speakers and subs. I have a pair of Mini T's and am considering their maching Mini T subwoofer. But for $5k I could go with a pair of Rel S/510's.
It's so easy to FALL IN LOVE with the Burchardt bass and meaty mid range. In fact I will prefer the MARK 1 anytime easily over Mk2 cos the Mark 1 is less harsh on the highs and hit harder bass ! Thanks for reminding these great speakers which makes life more enjoyable wo spending much.
I thought the Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th Anniversary and the Totem Tribe will be on your list since you raved about them so much. Personally, I will spend the extra money on theTriangle over the Totems any time, they are just that good.
After the KLH5 I'm shocked that every large bookshelf speaker is not placed on such a stand with the incline to test them. How much of everyone's love of it can be attributed to that stance and why hasn't it been tried on other speaker? For that matter how does the 5 sound when not on the platform? You could spend months watching speaker placement videos and how important it all is. So?

I bought a pair pf Magnepan LRS+. The soundstage was mesmerizing. It’s basically made my box speakers obsolete. Best $1000 I ever spent on audio.
What are you using with it?
Years ago I did a double stack of LRS with subs crossed over at 70 hz 6db slope, sounded great. I think upgrading the passive x-over would have helped even more.😊
Yup! I have owned 4 pairs of Maggie’s including modding two. Great speakers!
Isn't placement a bitch?
Yes I agree totally not only I own a LRT and I bought another pair of 1.7i too
I bought the Arendal 1723 in January 2023 after watching your review. Did not regret it at all. They really are fabulous. Paired them with the CSS 1TDX surrounds and 2TDX center with upgraded crossovers. Receiver is Integra DRX-8.4. Built 28 acoustic panels from scratch. I am in audio heaven.
And not expensive!
Thanks Jay! This is one of my favorite videos that you have done. Great job!
I've got the KLH Model 5 and T+A Pulsar R2000AC and they glow in the dark 🎉. Amazing match.
I appreciate you talking about obtainable products. I have the KLH model 3's which is a smaller 2-way version of the model 5 and I love them.
Everytime I listen to them 1st word comes to mind ...Intimate.... enjoy
Who said they are better? Just asking. Forget on paper, real life sound matters!!
Really enjoyed the content. Love the choices and different price points. Well done.
Would love to hear your thoughts on pairing the KLH5 with something like the daynco st70 or the mono blocks mk2/3
Loved my klh model five !
Arendal 1723 THX and Cary 805B amps. ❤, thanks for your review.
I had a pair of Kenwood 4 ways thirty years ago and let them go 😢
I also have Kendalls and I am looking for new speakers to replace them. I find them boomy, why do you want to replace them ?
I also have the Kendall's and have played around with placement. I have them about 2' from the wall in a small living area. Also, have you experimented with placing the foam inserts into either port? I don't find them to be boomy. I also have an EQ to play with sound.
@@hanksta34How do you like them???
I am using Focal Electra 1008BE but I still missed my KEF LS50 , with IOTAVX SA3 + PA3 stack + REL T5 subwoofer, the sound of this combo was really magical. In opinion you really can’t do better in around under £3K
I am very, very surprised that the KLH Kendalls are in this list ! I have them for over a year and i still can’t get use to them. I do like the over all tonality but i find them a little bit boomy. Not on all songs but on many.
Even with tone control?
Cool, I have the KLH Model 5 and Eversolo DMP-A8, but I need a power amp. The Denafrips Thallo wasn’t on my shortlist!
Do you still own the SF Electa Amator III?
How would you compare the KLH Kendall to the Polk R 700s? I love my 700s I only paid $899 for mine . I’ll never let them go .
I love my Kendall's but they don't have that many available second hand as compared to Polk product do they?
@@hanksta34no
He has a video talking about both of those speakers! Check his products of the year, or Kandall review its in with that.
Would it be possible for you do a review on Harbeth speakers? It would be great to get your opinion.
Hi. Any plans to review the new KLH KENDALL 2F?
Would love to see that review!!!
Great detailed notes and options; thanks for the review.
Hi another great video, I prefer the Kefs meta r3 over ls 50. Regards mark
Sincerely,
Me 🐏
I still own my 1979 stereo system with my JBL 4311's. I will never sell them.
I noticed the gatio Audio amps in the back ground. Just woundering if we will ever get a review?
You had 999 likes when I started watching. Now you have a thousand.
Great video.
I actually haven’t sold any speakers that I regret selling yet. That’s mainly because a lot of speakers I used to own where pretty cheap and not really that great. I probably do need to get rid of some of the speakers I have lying around the house though.
this is a really helpful video! I hope you do more videos like this in the future
When I A/B the Kef LS50 meta to the JBL L52 and GoldenEar BRX, I thought the Kef was not good (too beamy, heavy, light on bass, and had plastic binding nuts.)
#1 GoldenEar BRX
#2 JBL L52
#10 Kef LS50 Meta
source=Apple Music lossless
Man! I got these RTR two ways, with 8" paper drivers in 1972.
They went loud. I want those back!
Not to replace my speakers, but for the rumpus room or something.
RTR made systems with many drivers, 4 ways.
Not for me, but I want these.
How about a series on highly efficient speakers for tube amps? Review Stenheim?
Since I can't afford big ticket speakers... I'm curious how my ADS L780 would compare to the mid high end stuff ??
Thanks for the update. KLH5 must be the beans because they are on back order throughout Australia.
Great video as always.
How do these speakers compare wirh ELAC UFR52?
What do you think about PSB Imagine T3s? On the 2nd hand market, they’re really good value. I could buy a pair for $3000. Originally $7500
Jay please review the Buchardt A10's
Great review Jay, a few there I want to own in my collection.
Nice job Jay - best hi-fi guy on YT.
What about the Arendal 1961? They are still available in their outlet for < $1,300.
Did he say it was a kit or it was a hit when the speaker came out? I think he meant to say it was a hit and misspoke.
Is that the choco emei on your shelf? It looks green.....does it come kn green? Is that what they call "gun metal"?
I have the LS50 meta’s with Hegel H390 and the Dynaudio HS. Both speaker sets are great. Kefs are the best for vocals, Dyns have it for the bass and power.
Have a look at the boressen X1, they are just gorgeous.
How does it compare to Burchardt Mark 1 ?
I really enjoyed this one, Jay. I regret selling my Pioneer Elite bookshelf speakers.
Did you consider a Klh model 5 over the r3 meta they seem to be price the same
@jayiyagi What do you think about pairing LS50 Metas with Marantz 40n?
How do you see the Alta Alec floorstanding speaker?
Please make a speaker tierlist of all the speakers you’ve reviewed so far. Thanks!
Hey Jay,do you think you will be getting in for review the new Svs Evolution speakers?
My biggest mistake was selling my BW 802n which I bought second hand for 3000 eur, the vocals on the speakers was on a another level, the huge body was exclent, I didnt get it from another speaker 3 years and Im really mising it and looking for pair of 802/801n or D series
Yamaha NS1000 only speakers I need to own again. Sounded better than Wilson Maxx II which costs over hundred thousand.
Have you heard the Fire V2? How would you say they compare to the Tribe?
Jay, I was quite disappointed to see you didn't include Tannoy Revolution XT-8F. You gave them a great review. I own them and love them. You didn't include, even though your review was so positive?
I have the totem tribe tower. Found a used pair at a decent price. I figured they are smaller than a set of bookshelf with stands. Run them with a Heaven11 amp. My Canadian setup. I like it, but I have problem with my room so I can’t give a final verdict. Added a Kef KC sub for a bit more bass
Am I wrong; wasn’t there previously quite a bit of love for Tekton; Zu Audio and/or Magnepan LRS ?
Tekton yes, but I already have a few so do not "miss them"
Zu audio no, I have never liked or reviewed them,
Magnepan LRS yes, and I still own a pair, but it has now been replaced with the LRS plus which I have not reviewed yet.
@@Jayiyagi Nice, appreciate the clarity. Definitely looking to make some changes in our set-up (and finding a place to actually listen is next to impossible these days). So sadly it is very important to have input and hearing the views of people like you who actually get to listen is key to even having a remote chance at success.
What amp is a excellent pairing for the totem tribe towers to bring out their best ? Would the Hegel h390 be a good match ?
Good to hear!
Probably a good idea to also explain why you sold them, especially the LS50/meta since you bought/sold them like 50 times : )
I have Tribes and a pair of 5’s. But what I miss are my Sky Towers and Lumina 2.
So, wait. Are you saying that the Mission QX-2 Mk II is better than Kef Q350, Polk R200, Wharfedale Evo 4.2 and Klipsch RP-600M II?
Love listening to you. I brought a set of soundartist 15inch concentric speakers after your review. I am wondering do you still listen to them? And what amplifier would you recommend
Awesome list of speaker for people looking to buy one.
Love my PS5's! Got them on sale for $299. They are amazing for the price.
I was getting everything lined up
In life to get a Porsche 911 (gts, gt3 or gt3 touring) but then the world changed and all of those cars doubled in price 🤣
Talk about a moving target. Guess I’ll stick to my child hood dream car that is in the garage already.
loved DALI 's Oberon 9. Lovely big speaker.
I would love to know what you think of Bryston speakers and subs. I have a pair of Mini T's and am considering their maching Mini T subwoofer. But for $5k I could go with a pair of Rel S/510's.
Hello. Are you planning to review the Buchardt P300?
What’s your take on kLH model 30 with denon pma A110?
It's so easy to FALL IN LOVE with the Burchardt bass and meaty mid range. In fact I will prefer the MARK 1 anytime easily over Mk2 cos the Mark 1 is less harsh on the highs and hit harder bass ! Thanks for reminding these great speakers which makes life more enjoyable wo spending much.
Unfortunately these days with shipping costs being what they are it's almost impossible to get large speakers outside of being local
I bought Rega RS1 speakers for my desk twice. I missed them
If you get the chance, please check out the Blumenhofer Genuin FS2 or ME Geithain 901 or 921. Of course only if you want to check out German HiFi.
I got the mission qx2 after your review. And, it’s only US$400 in Singapore. ❤❤❤
KEF R3 not on the list?
Thought so too. But at least ls50 meta does the job too well.
I thought the Triangle Magellan Duetto 40th Anniversary and the Totem Tribe will be on your list since you raved about them so much. Personally, I will spend the extra money on theTriangle over the Totems any time, they are just that good.
Wish I did t sell my LS50 Mets but I needed the funds at that time. My current 300B tube amp won’t be able to handle them however 😢
After the KLH5 I'm shocked that every large bookshelf speaker is not placed on such a stand with the incline to test them. How much of everyone's love of it can be attributed to that stance and why hasn't it been tried on other speaker? For that matter how does the 5 sound when not on the platform? You could spend months watching speaker placement videos and how important it all is. So?
