The cheaper variety such as Kampung Durian (Village Durian) also worth trying but it's has mixed flavour. I feel alot first timer like to relate the taste of durian to fruitiness because it's a fruit, unfortunately its taste is nothing fruity but more like dry winey taste and with that expectation in mind alot will be turned off by the first bite. Having said that, it's ok if you don't like it, don't force yourself. Some locals still don't like durian also.

It's not wise to pair Durian with any form of beer or liquor because it might be too heavy and heaty for your body. It's better to pour some water on the cask and drink from it to keep your body cool, though.😊

You should try Cempedak.. Same texture with durian, but for me the taste not as good as durian.. But the fruit shape looks like jackfruit.. Also try mangosteen and langsat/duku

You will don't like it for the first time. There is a technique to taste it and later you will come again cause you will addicted to it.
