Landing vikram is crucial . They have to reduce speed of lander in controlled manner from 2km/s to 0km/s just before landing on lunar surface.

Amit, the issue or fault faced by Luna 25 cannot happen today for CY3.
They could not reach their final designated orbit of 100x18 km. But CY3 already has reached its final designated orbit of 134 x 25km on 20th itself.
So CY3 facing the same issue as Luna 25 is ruled out, we are already past that stage.

Russia deserved Luna 25 crash
Instead of race , Putin could have allowed India to complete the mission.
They had plans to reach Moon by Luna 25 a year before or two, but couldn't because of the war.
They too wanted to reach the moon at the start of lunar day, the point that even ISRO is aspiring.
