Glossier really missed the mark by not going retail, like, 5 years ago. Now that so many other brands do the clean no makeup-makeup schtick better, it all seems too little, too late. I also think they do huge disservice to themselves by not marketing to an older demographic. Their products are well designed and formulated for a mature demographic. Tone deaf. That being said, Glossier has a bunch of solid products both skin and makeup. Love the concealer, lip balm, mascara, boy brow, the perfume, the glow serum. It’s funny to say but Glossier is kind of dated.
Their perfume is so good too!
And no international shipping, just to a handful of countries.
I agree with you so much about the older demographic part. For two years in a row now, I have been asked by them to do a survey answering a multitude of questions about their brand, and this I mentioned both times. Instead, from what I've read, it seems they are mainly targeting Gen Z as their main demo now.
This is what I was thinking EXACTLY.
I‘ve always wanted to purchase Glossier but they refuse to ship to most EU countries🤡
I have the driest skin on the planet and the stretch concealer is the ONLY one that doesn't cling to dry patches or make my undereyes look cakey. Also huge boy brow and cloud paint stan...and YOU is the only perfume I have EVER liked. Super happy to have them at Sephora now.
I have insanely dry skin as well and I use the stretch concealer for foundation. The tiniest bit worked into a fluffy brush is exactly the coverage I need and it looks so elegantly understated.
Stretch concealer is the most underrated beauty product on the planet I swear! I don't understand why it's not an absolute cult must have always sold out.
A tip for the glossier cloud paint blushes: I like to put the blush on the back of my hand and basically blend it out on my hand like 90% and then i just take what's left on my fingers and blend that in. Works like a charm and you need just the ittiest bittiest little dollop of product. These blushes last me YEARS and are by far my favorite non-powder blush formula.
Jamie! You should do a video with a full face of all your favorite products from brands that cater to the “clean girl” makeup aesthetic. I’m thinking like glossier, ilia, merit and any others you’d consider in this category
Funnily enough, this video is inspiring me to pick up the Glossier skin tint again. I don’t want much coverage and don’t need a more versatile product like Mac face and body, but I appreciate your input. I usually just wear a dab of concealer under my eyes with cream blush, bronzer, and Auric Glow Lust. Your skin looks amazing and so natural with just the skin tint and stretch concealer.
Great video and I love your honesty!
It seems like Glossiers products each caters to a very specific type of person. They were created very intentionally. Separately could be really good. All the products together, not so good. 🤣 No offense.
together is a big big no hahaha
Why do you think? I've never tried them because I live in Italy but they don't appeal to me for some reason..
So agree. I've tried almost all but stick to the skin tint and concealer. They're great for low maintenance days.
I love glossier so much aha. Boy brow, mascara, skin tint, futuredew, eyeshadow palette, generation g, cloud paint are all in my every day routine, as are the cleanser, moisturiser, eye cream and lip balm. Genuinely my favourite brand of all time. It works so so well for me and I try other stuff but always go back to them because nothing else does it for me like they do!
I've never watched your videos before but I really appreciate this one, I don't know if it's your camera or the lighting but your skin actually looks like skin and it really gives me a great idea of how the products sit. I find with a lot of makeup influencers/ review videos their face looks very smoothed and blured or extremely over exposed and I can't actually tell what the make up looks like on their skin. This video really helped me to understand how the products perform and I really appreciate it!
I bought the cheek tint in Haze. It’s a beautiful colour and it sheers out very well (I have a very fair skin tone.) My porcelain-skinned daughter uses the light pink colour, Puff. She likes the colour and the way it blends.
I like glossier my thing is most of the face products don’t last more than an hour on my dry skin. So I look for products with longetivity since I don’t like re applying face products
You just saved me some money 🤣 I had that bronzer in my cart and I kept going back and forth on whether or not to try it. I'm happy the lippies are good because I was already pretty sold on trying them. Thanks for an insanely helpful video!!
Yess agreed this video was so helpful ✨✨
I just bought their skin tint, cloud paint and boy brow now that it’s stocked at Sephora. I’ve always loved all three products, but didn’t want to pay shipping/customs to Canada. (I know the skin tint is divisive because it’s so sheer, but I like how it makes my skin look like it’s naturally perfect). I know you brought up MAC Face and Body, which I loved the look of, but it majorly blocked my pores and made me break out, unlike Glossier.
Glossier skin tint plays well with others. I usually mix it with summer Friday skin tint. The concealer is great too. Haven’t tried the bronzer but the blush is lively - you need one dot only
I have two holy grail products from Glossier, which are the future dew serum & stretch concealer, other than those I can leave everything else. They rely too much on their “minimal aesthetic” than actually creating good formulas. Great video Jamie! 💗
Future dew is the BEST 👏👏😊
The product that impresses me the most even after years is the futuredew. No other brand did anything like it. It‘s the only product that makes me dewy ALL day, it‘s so good applied to specific areas and just tapped (not rubbed) in. Also the stretch concealer with a brush all over as a foundation is so good:)
true!! i'm kinda hitting myself for not including it in todays video! It's one of the only glossier product I still love going back to!
Cloud paint, boy brow, generation lipstick are some of my holy grails!! I know it’s not for everyone but I love the brand!
This is actually a really good idea. I haven’t used a Glossier product in YEARS. It doesn’t make sense to judge the brand based on my experience from so long ago. I doubt they even have the same products or formulas as they did back then. I wonder what other brands I’m ghosting based on outdated opinions?
I actually really love a lot of products from Glossier. They’re stretch concealer is one of the only concealers I have ever loved and it mixes well with others. Also love the future dew, blushes, mascara, lippies. Tons of stuff. I think too many people expect high coverage, and current beauty guru style makeup and you’re just not going to get that with glossier but for people who like the no makeup makeup look, it is really great!
I giggled multiple times during this because Glossier products have NEVER worked for me and I never got the hype so in a way it was validating to see so many of these fail
The lip balm was not only repackaged, but also reformulated. I used to LOVE their old lip balm, it ever had medium-staying power on me and the light brown was a lovely your lips but better look. I'm so hesitant to buy the new lip balm bc I've seen reviews that do not think it compares at all
I prefer it to the old formula. I think some people just hate change and that’s ok but the new formulation is great! Sephora will probably do their spring sale coming up in a few months so just grab one at a discount if you’re unsure about buying it rn at full price!
I’m going to be honest, I was very disappointed when I got the reformulated ones. 😞 I bought it, it was bad & then did the research and saw all the bad comments..
for my dry skin, I LOOOVE their priming moisturizer! i'm glad they're now in Sephora so it's easier for me to order them online. I'm from the 🇵🇭 btw😊
I love the lip balms and the Future Dew looks so beautiful under foundation.
i love the cloud paints with a brush, stretch concealer with my fingers, and the You perfume is my fave!
I'm so looking forward to this! I was excited about it being more accessible to Canadians but didn't know if it was worth the hype it recieved previously
Omggg the lip colors look soooo good on you though 😩 I’ve never been particularly attracted to glossier as a brand since there are so many other brands out there that cater to that minimal makeup aesthetic. But those lip colors on you are GORGEOUS
I adore the Glossier future dew serum & stretch concealer. I do use the skin tint on occasion. I want to pick up some cloud paints, a boy brow, a lash slick mascara, & a sheer matte lipstick in poppy red.
i love the stretch concealer :) i have used it for so long and it’s perfect for my no-makeup makeup days or even a thin layer underneath my mac prolongwear concealer to stop it creasing with my dry undereyes
Just to say I APPRECIATE U DOING THIS and jus generally tbh 🥰🥰 so informative and thorough in ur takes - we share similar skin type and colouring kinda so i really am benefiting from ur hard work! APPRECIATE U 😭💕😇
You are one of the only 2 youtubers whom I trust their reviews.. All of the products you recommend are truely very good.. I must see your review of any product before buying it❤️❤️ we dont have glossier in Egypt or in sephora middle east yet
💗💗
I’d love to see you use some of your favs from this video in a retake with other makeup you like! Those lip products look beautiful 👀
Sooo happy Glossier is finally at Sephora. I will always be a die-hard for the stretch concealer, Generation G lip, and the cloud paints. But this review made me super excited for the brow flick! Can’t wait to try that and future dew.
Glossier is very hit or miss for me but when they hit they hit like the ultralip and the perfume I will always repurchase
the perfume is def a++ too
God I love the Ultralip. They nailed that one. I hope my local Sephora carries the fragrance because I’ve always been curious but have never gotten my nose on it!
Eve is my favourite cloud paint and one of my favourite blushes - I have a similar skin tone to you but I use a tiny amount with my fingers and it always looks lovely!
I finally bought a few products from the brand, Sephora has a easier return system in case someone doesn’t work 😊
totally!! soooo much easier!
Ah everything looks so pretty on you! I’m really happy this is at Sephora Canada too! ❤ 🎉
The solar paints are phenomenal as a one-&-done eyeshadow but horrible as a bronzer. After buying it when it launched and hating it, I was playing around with makeup at 3am (as one does) and put it on my eyes when I mistook it for another liquid eyeshadow, but OMG- It look so pretty. Now I have all the shades and wear them quite often, esp if I’m in a rush in the am.
I'm new to your channel! I'm always on the hunt for a good eyeliner, so good to know it didn't smudge!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the Ultralip in Cachet because it’s my favorite and now I feel that all of my life choices have been validated 😆😘😘
TBH I have liked what I tried: cult products boy brow and cloud paint, then the mascara because I was curious. Here’s the thing - I can get the elf wow brow, flower blush bomb, and cover girl clump crusher for the same effect or better. I am really glad they’re at Sephora now though, and plan to try the concealer and perfume.
Ugh, thank you! I needed this video!!
i swear by adding their glow serum to other cream foundations like the it cosmetics cc to slightly sheer them and make them perform better in my dry skin. it’s game changing
Your lashes look AMAZING!!!!
I still absolutely love their Stretch Concealer and Cloud Paints.
wow thanks for making this video esp with glossier now being sold at sephora😮 i also noticed that the lighting in ur recent videos have been more gloomy and dull and i miss the old lighting set up! ☺️
Would love to see you doing more shop my stash and playing with makeup videos soon! It's been a while
I have the same color of Cloud Paint, and it's the perfect cold girl color, but it is, like, so much more pigmented than all the colors and it can easily be a lot!
My Sephora has Glossier in store so I’ll definitely have to check it out. I’m mostly interested in the stretch concealer and boy brow.
I use a wet sponge with the glossier bronzer and blush and I’ve never had any issues with them. I love their new bdc reformulation - the old one did not work for me. And I love the futuredew as a glowy primer!
I've never liked the way foundation looks or feels on my skin. But Glossier Skin tint and the concealer are my all time favorite for evening me out and looking natural. I have a lot of skin issues and products tend to cling and look awful. Not all brands need to change their formula to suit everyone and I feel like going into Sephora is going to bring in a ton of people with expectations that the product is something its not. They already changed/ruined the gen g formula. 🤷♀️ The cloud paint is definitely a less is more product. I haven't tried the bronzer because of the shimmer. Fawn might make it into my next cart though 👀
I’m obsessed with glossier lip products. Brow flick is also fab. Cloud paint is awesome but I’ve decided it’s pretty difficult to apply simply because it’s sooo pigmented.
I have a peachy toned cloud paint that I really like using to tint my usual concealer into a colour-correcting one for under my eyes!
Never tried anything from GLOSSIER but if anyone is interested in the history/rise & fall of the brand, Kelly Gooch did a really good video about it recently!
If you like the blush color i recommend merit flush balm in mood, it's actually very blendable and we have similar skin tones. I really want to try glossier but I know it won't work on my oily af skin.
Tip for the stretch concealer: I find applying it under the eyes and letting it set for a couple minutes before blending makes it so much better. It stops it creasing completely for me, I set it with a powder puff and it looks flawless
The Cachet lipstick on you looks stunning it reminds me of the Clinique Black Honey
My daughter loves glossier, I on the other hand only like the boy brow! Thanks Jamie so looking forward to this video!
The Glossier Boy Brow and Parfum are my faves ♥️
My favorite products from the brand is definitely the cloud paints, lidstar & I like the mascara for lower lashes.
I like using the solar paint as liquid eyeshadow.
I've never tried the glossier skin tint because of the bad reviews, but I a 100% agree with you about Mac face and body. It is so so good and adds no texture to my face. My fav glossier products are the future dew, pot concealer and the brown mascara. I've tried their liquid blush and brow gel and they are both fine, but i find the cloud paint a bit annoying to work with - too much comes out of the tube. I am excited to try the brow pen based on the good reviews!
Hi frienddddd! 😍
Been a minute since I watched you. So nice to hear and see you again!
i really like the mascara, it's pretty natural and good for day to day. I still like the skin tint and concealer. But i'm trying to get through other complexion products now.
I really like Glossier. When I was having problems with dermatitis on my eyelids and around my eyes the Stretch Concealer was the only thing I could use for months. I"m almost on my 2nd pot now. I recently bought their mascara and the Boy Brow. The boy brow is not like anything I've ever tried. It's way better than what I've bought at the drugstore. It definetly exceeded my expectations. The mascara is another fave. I don't have to use my mascara primer with it and it makes my lashes stand out. Stays on all day too! I threw out the skin tint because it was like putting on a moisturizer with a hint of colour to it.
Would love an updated video on favourite skin tints now that we’re heading into spring!!
The Solar Paint bronzer didn't work for my face either, but I found that it does look decent on the eyes. It stays a little sticky which is great for dry eyelids. I find myself reaching for it often, before gym or on no-makeup makeup days. The shade I got(Flare) works better on the eyes than the cheeks and the metallic sheen looks nice and subtle. It really is a mess on the cheeks, though. To end on a positive note, that Generation G lipstick is very much your colour, looks great on you!
I love the stretch concealer and I never set it. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed it creasing on me. I’m a bit older with dry skin and struggle with base products. I’ve finally accepted that my skin actually looks better without them as they tend to highlight my pores and dry patches. I can use the stretch concealer anywhere I need it without making my skin look worse.
i loveeeeee glossier the concealer n tint especially absolutely love ! im 31 and have extremely dry skin
I'm pretty dark, Fenty 450, and you used the shade of cloud paint that I use so I def think you should try another shade!
Oh my …. That bronzer and that blush 🙈 , they just weren’t blending out . The lash slick however I buy every year in the Black Friday sale and get enough to last me the year , it just works for me x
I love that hair color on you
Thanks for the review. Yep, most of the glossier products arent for me, so this review on the products helped. If anything, I would like to try the brow flick pen, and lipsticks. Love your cat! I have a flame point Siamese with blue eyes.
As someone who works at a glossier store, I can easily say that the bronzer did you dirty when you tried to blend out the cloud paint. I'm already pale in a "don't like bronzer" way, but I also don't love the solar paints most of the time. Eve is gorgeous on its own, though! Cloud paint and the concealer were my ride-or-dies before I even worked there
This video was chaotic!!! Thanks Jamie ❤😂
i hope in a good way!! hahaha
@@JamiePaige of course! 🤪
I get sooo much more coverage when I use the skin tint with a brush
cloud paint reminded me of the makeup doodle sheet 💓💓
yesssss!!
I loved their bubble wrap eye cream, so sad they discontinued it. Also like the bounce serum. Tempted to try the lip products and lidstar! I could not get on with the future dew, had a weird oily silicone texture one me
Clear boy brow, cloud paint in Dusk and ultralip in Trench for life!!! Also Alix from I Covet Thee would use the Stretch Concealer with a dry Beauty Blender and it’s definitely worked better for my under eyes, HOWEVERRRR thanks to you Ms Paige I am now a Kosas revealer concealer convert 🤣
I would love to see a brow tournament video!
I totally depend on your views before buying makeup. 💗💗
💗💗💗💗
I prefer the concealer all over my face instead of just the skin tint. I learned that my skin is pretty dry so I definitely get more coverage with a decently hydrating product
Only tried a few Glossier products. Recommendations are the concealer (good for dry undereyes), the cloud paints, and the ultralip. Hated the skin tint and lidstar (both added nothing and the shadow wore away very fast because it was slippy).
i tried to love the cloud paints but it was too hard to blend. im still a noob to makeup and those were not noob friendly!! currently using the rare beauty liquid blush and its stunning!!
dab dab dab dab the cloud paint! don’t rub!
Your skin looks lovely. Thank you for looking real. I have redness and have been battling it for years. Had ipl. I'm 50 and now have come to terms with the fact I have a fair skin with rosacea. Pretty good skin for my age. Few wrinkles but very dehydrated so lines that my estee lauder, full coverage used to love to make look worse. Need to go lighter and improve the texture of my skin so things sit better on it. I am similar in colouring to you.
Very helpful video. Will be watching your others. 😀
I’ve wanted a nice brown mascara too. Bought the new Too Faced Better Than Sex one in brown. Love it.
unrelated lol, but I’d love to see you make a video/reel/TikTok about getting a “seasonal color analysis” and what you think the befits of getting it are. I just love your content and would want to hear what you have to say about it lol.
I picked up the trio shadows at Winners one day and I like one of them Teak. Hate the mascara, love the eyeliner, impartial to the bronzer, love the ultralip, don't like the cloud paints, like the highlighter, can't stand the feel of the generation G, and love the balm. It's a rollercoaster.
As an American who has family in Canada and always trying to figure out what to get. I randomly picked up the stacked eyeshadow quad from Quo in Crème Caramel and I think I like it more or as equal to the Glossier shadow in almond. Worth checking out for your thoughts. I need more recs for Canada brands lol. Like do we still like Bourjois?
i had no idea about the sephora thing, i remember making the pilgrimage to the one on melrose in like, 2017. for a ~clean light brand, i'm still so impressed by the cloud paints and how they hold up over time (i always apply with a small stipple brush so a little gets spread out farther). same i'm shocked my haloscope still works great. but the boy brow is what kept me coming back.
as much as i'm sitting here saying everything is great, i have never gotten the love for lash slick or the generation g's, the ones i had were so patchy w their pigmentation and dry. maybe a bad batch? but i never got more.
but seriously wtf w them not bringing the wowder to sephora, actually my favorite thing i still use day to day??
Glossier is so interesting to me, they’re so good with concept and design but the actually products just sort of give nothing? Thank you for this review, I’m often so tempted to rebuy/retry glossier but they always end up failing me and I need to just remember that lol
you're right on with that assessment!
I’ve been using Glossier for yeaaars now. I have a few core holy grails that I continue to repurchase (despite trying really hard to find alternatives lol): skin tint, concealer, and perfume specifically and this doesn’t even include their body care which I also love lol. I’ve also been using cloud paint in puff for years-I’ve gotten the application down to a science, it def isn’t an easy product to work with consistent with most reviews BUT I’ve had a hard time finding a similar color and formula that works for me. Cloud paint also looks BEAUTIFUL under powder.
I understand the critique they get 100%, but I honestly thank Glossier for helping me love my *skin* and completely shifting the way the makeup industry thought about makeup. I’m porcelain skinned, and makeup trends at the time were not suited for my skin tone so I always felt left out (the self-tan era)-there were probably 1 or 2 influencers at the time who focused on fair skin, and even their options were limited. Glossier helped me love the skin I’m in :)
I personally love Glossier but if you go in expecting/wanting them to perform like other brands then you’re going to be disappointed. Also I would say that the shades you used with the blush & bronzer seemed a bit dark which is why they didn’t work as well as they could. I’m pale & I find the most flattering cloud paint if puff or beam. The darker ones just make me look like I have rosacea! Also I have the eyeshadow trio in mist & it works really well & is very pigmented so maybe just the shade you chose ❤️
I have both mac skin and body and the glossier skin tint. I like how glossier skin tint gives a barely-there look for days where I want to look super natural. The mac skin and body is a fave for when I want more coverage. The concealer is nice but I think I would prefer a slightly warmer shade to help even out my redness.
Love the cloud paints, but you do need to be careful which colours you choose. The dark ones look too strong on my face, so I stick with the lighter ones, or peachy ones that give a little bronze. Dusk is the best shade for me.
Just tried their mascara for the first time and I love it for light makeup days - it gives enough definition without making me feel like I need something else on the eyes.
I don't like the cream shadows that much... just not my favourite thing and I don't reach for it.
Thank you for taking one for the team!! It’s weird how this brand seems dated and just hasn’t really evolved. I am wondering if anyone has feedback on Futuredew compared to alternatives like Glow Lust. Worth it? Jamie your hair is looking so beautiful!
Glow lust has some coverage. It blurs and covers and smooths and glows. I’d say future dew is far more minimal, no coverage, but the reflective quality helps things appear more smooth and blurred.
not every Glossier product is worth it but there are a lot that I can't live without- After Baume, Solution, Stretch Concealer, Lash Slick, and Cloud Paint in Storm are my must haves. My mid-tier are are the pencil eyeliners since they do not move and come in a lot of really cool colors, the Brow Flick, Haloscope, and Gen G are all worth trying out but aren't perfect. I feel they're price point is quite fair and the really stand out products are 100/10 chef's kiss gorgena
I wish wish wish the cloud paint came in the same packaging like the solar paint. The little squeeze tube has always been so messy and hard to use
I bought the solar paint in Ray and expected performance like the cloud paints. It ended up being so patchy! I had a very similar experience to you with it.
It feels like I’m the only one who loves the Glossier skin tint 😂 it’s the only skin tint/foundation/what-have-you I use. I love that other people would think I’m not wearing makeup but I know it makes my skin look filtered.
Yes! It slightly blurs/diffuses the skin and adds some color!
It's my favorite as well! I'm terrified theyll turn it into a Mac face and body type coverage with the negative review im sure theyll get from sephora buyers. 🥺
Exactly!!! I hate wearing cc creams and foundations because I really do not like the look of covering my skin up. The skin tint gives me the slight bit of coverage I've been looking for.
Well you just saved me lots of money 😂 I had 3 items from them in my saphora cart and now I have 3 items leaving my saphora cart lol. I’ve never tried glossier but don’t feel like I’m missing out. Love your videos :)
Lol I was watching you put on the cloud paint and was thinking,Sweet Jesus. I do love the Cloud Paints though.
twas a hot mess, for sure hahaha
The perfume (and accompanying scented products bc I LOVE glossier you), lip balms (LOVE the new applicator and the mango & rose scents are my favs), all lip products!!! (rip the play products I love that lipstick), the exfoliating soap bar, blushes, concealer, & brow flick are such holy grail products for me. that being said, I do not use the brow flick anymore bc u have to put it on bare skin or it dries up pretty fast - since i’m used to doing my brows almost last I switched to the NYX brow pen a couple yrs ago. also ik it seems late for glossier to go retail but the glossier aesthetic is so targeted like we (glossier girlies) are not switching to other brands it’s just not gonna happen lol
edit: I totally forgot to mention the daily moisturizer in rich is my holy grail I will never stop buying it for the rest of my life idc its the best moisturizer for dry skin ever especially in its price range also RIP bubblewrap I miss it sm
