Well, since the pandemic began as well as the renovations of my local Golden Corral, the chocolate fountain is completely gone and replaced with a few desserts pre-dipped in chocolate. I bet most Golden Corral locations got rid of their chocolate fountains after COVID. People would get really sick if they still have the chocolate fountains in their locations today. I still miss the chocolate fountain, but there are always other ways to enjoy melted chocolate in a safe and sanitary way. 😊
The Pot Roast has always been good at the Sevierville TN location but the sliders are hard hockey pucks. The Yeast Rolls with the honey butter is always yummy
The Fried Chicken is very good .. great salad bar and ice cream. Steaks are good but not the top quality meats. I hope GC will stay in business forever as America needs Buffet options.

I actually like Golden Corral, they have a lot of choices. I think their best dishes are their meatloaf, pot roast, roast turkey, fried catfish, baked tilapia, and their bourbon chicken. They offer a lot of side dishes to choose from, their salad bar is incredible, and they have a lot of good dessert choices; their carrot cake is incredible!

There supposed to reopen them apparently! But, the last time, I ate at a Golden Corral, all the food was ice cold! I don’t think no one wants to go to restaurant and expects to get ice cold food that they aren’t willing to reheat!

Skip over the nutritional data. Irrelevant. Food taste and texture matter more. I ate lunch there last April. They reduce their menu for lunch. The only beef dishes were burgers, tacos and pot roast. Mostly tasteless. Pot roast was so...wet...and unbeefy. The fish filets were gelatinous, flavorless and inedible. Everything else is best described as "mediocre" or "edible." My biggest mistake--I should have skipped all of their fried junk and overcooked dishes and gone straight to desserts. One thing they do well is BAKE! Truth is, when I got a burger, after the first bite I removed the patty from the bun and ate the bun. Their cobbler was excellent, their puddings were delicious, their cakes, pies and pastries were luscious, expertly executed.

I've never had a problem getting med/med rare. Though they do occasionally get a gristly cut.
