Damn this is making a grown man cry. I used to go to Eliz and bleeker for years. Then in 2020 we moved to michigan. I haven’t much film since and seeing these labs really brought back memories. Photography is so much more than photos. So much more. In a time where humanity has less communities…

BLEEEKER - For their consistent quality work, gotta give it to them ( + their TIFF scans leave enough room for post work).
Also a fan of picturehouse+thesmalldarkroom after listening to Sissi's recommendation - their location is like a secret underground chamber and they look + feel like a very proper film development lab.
Another great one guys! Really loved this one

Have to say that Bleeker’s scans did shock me when we put it side by side with others. But I might just realized something... I think we got mid level tiff from bleeker instead of jpg like what we did anywhere else... ooooops 🙈

The color house has a wide range of film stocks to buy, much like Brooklyn film camera so going there to get film is always reliable. Bleekers digital has amazing tiffs, but accurate photo shop wins all around.
The friendliness of the staff, the prices for processing film, the turnaround time is unbeaten, and their scans are unbeaten.

I just recently started film photography and my first/only photo lab was/is Sammy's Photo Lab
in LES, but started buying a developing kit and scanner as I want to do the process on my own, as I think it's a big part of the film photography, and it's much more personal in a way. Just like the whole idea of being the one who will get that shot to the final destination, and create something from scratch, if that makes sense...
P.S. Oh yeah and prices are:
    I think :
    c41 - 14$ (scanned photos on a USB stick)
    b/w - 18$ (scanned photos on a USB stick)
If you want your pics on email instead of USB it's 5$ more, I don't quite understand why tho xD

Super interesting concept! I think Bleeker or the last lab are the best ones since they just nailed the sharpness, contrast and colours the best. But sometimes it's also good to support the family owned ones, really great to see their passion. Here in Belgium (so don't pick me for the giveaway) we have maybe 10 or less labs in the entire country! My local one asks 5 euro (6 USD) for development + prints which is insanely good. Hope you guys make some more video's!

Love you guys!! I started shooting film again I finally got a Hasselblad. I'm from the west coast i don't have a lot of labs nearby like NY (jelly :P). I just mail it out but its exciting to know there's a cool film lab community in NY. I'd love to visit 😍.

I love Accurate. They're always so friendly and talk to me while I wait for my film to get developed. The lady boss always definitely makes sure to comment on my roll "this was shot well" etc just like she says in her interview! ig: @wave.lengths_

Good video.. but- personally, as someone who shoots and develops (for my own peace of mind) in nyc . I think that it’s a little sus to be making videos like this that potentially rob people of business but who am I to say. Yes people can be judge themselves, but you guys clearly gave a subjective opinion that can easily skew others opinions- it’s kind of unfair but that’s just my opinion :)

thank you, Conor, for the feedback! you have a point. we try to show everything to the audience so hopefully they can decide for themselves. but I personally (sissi here) have a strong favorite haha, as you could tell. we are not a professional review channel, and we are trying our best to share our journeys and process in film to everyone... even every bit of our thoughts :)
