I am an elderly befriender and one of my clients wanted to play this with me. I had never played this game in my life, but this video helped me so much - thank you. I am about to visit the lady in question now and hopefully we'll have our first game together 😁
Thank you! This was much easier than reading the directions. My kid was like, oh, okay, I get it now! 👍🏼
Glad it helped! Thanks for leaving a comment, enjoy the game!
Thank you! Finally someone who can explain a game clearly.
There are so many that don’t make any sense.
fantastic tutorial. I read the instructions and watched the official instructions video and was still confused. Seeing someone play helps sooo much
This video is explained perfectly. I watched it three years ago when I bought a Rummikub card version to understand it. Today at lunch I played a round with some colleagues; I lost yet I managed to practice for future rounds and focus on strategies.
Also, I see that you didn't mention the penalties for illegal plays, two minute limit and the points when winning/losing; yet, it doesn't lose the essence for beginners, medium or advance players.
2020 corona virus quarantine!!!! Here in Los Angeles ! Hopefully in the future someone sees this and we are waaaay past this!!!!!
Two months later!!
City’s are burning down..🤬
Still here and still in quarantine
Not yet 😣
well it's been a year......still in quarentine!
Congratulations!
Thank you! This video was very helpful. We haven't played this game in many years and this was exactly what we needed! Well done!
the instructions made no sense at all, but this did
Happy to hear it :)
We developed a few house rules which make the game more enjoyable and speeds it up a bit. Rule1, When drawing tiles at the start of a game, any double is returned to the pile, and a different tile is taken. This keeps you from getting bogged down with doubles. Rule 2, The game starts with 20 points, instead of 30. This gets everyone playing right away. Rule 3, The loser is given a joker, and must use it on their initial play. This gets jokers on the table, so anyone can use them later. Enjoy!
Nice! I like all three rules! We will probably be borrowing them ;) Thank you for sharing!
Interesting
Our version of the starting 30 is you can play less then 30, but you cant start adding to otger ppls groups until youve put your own 30 down lol. So if you do 21 next turn you need 9. This way prevents ppl from having to take cards, if they at least put 3 down.
I have family members at my house for a birthday party..bought this game and sadly never got to play it. Now I will introduce this cool game to them all and make it a favorite! This demonstration made it much easier for me to understand..Thank you !
It's an awesome game! Enjoy :)
Very helpful, I'd rather have games explained than read instructions! :-)
Amen, I don’t trust anyone who feels otherwise in this modern world.
Exactly.
Me too!!

I love this game! My family plays this game every time we’re together, Every holiday and any other events!!
This video is so helpful!!
I tried watching other videos but I don't understand the instructions they were trying to explain.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you. I remembered that my family used to own one of these sets, but I never got to actually play the game. I thought it would be a good idea to learn how to play it and maybe I'll find some people to play it with in the future.
Thanks we used to play this a long time ago. Your video was clear and covered anything in a concise fashion. We’re ready to go!
Glad it was helpful! Have a Happy New Year and enjoy the game!! 👍👍👍
Thank you for the refresher. It has been many years that I have not played this game and your tutorial brought it all back again. Thanks
Glad I could help with that :) Enjoy the game!
2020 this helped a lot, my grandma forgot how to play so played off of the directions (they did not help at all) and when we were playing she was thinking that we were ending to fast so I looked up vids and this helped the most, thank you. now we know how to play.
Thanks so much for explaining. Made it so easier than reading the instructions. Love this game.
Wow! Great video! We've had this game sitting in the cupboard for years. Decided to take it camping with is not having any clue as to how to play it. Now the competition is hectic downunder! Thanks for the video! ⛺♟🎲
That is awesome! Happy to hear the video helped, enjoy the game and the camping trip!
What doesn't Amazon have? :) amzn.to/2Ex2sHJ
I just realized I didn't say Rummikub anywhere in the video! Now nobody can say i mispronounced it ;)
I didn’t know how to play but now I know how to play and I appreciate y’all because y’all help me learn how to play
Thank you. Brought this for lock down round 2 but couldn't understand the rules. Now we can play
AWESOME tutorial i have been looking at so many tutorials and didn't understand them until I found this one THANKS
This game was sitting at the back of my closet, and I had no idea what it was, but now I do! Thank you!
Enjoy the game! :)
Thank you! Now I can play the new rummikub game I got for Christmas🙂
this is my favorite game, its so fun and i never get tired of it
I know this game was played to illustrate the rules and it does that well, but I need to get this off my chest anyway. The player on the right in his last turn was actually able to win. He should have added his red 1 to the set of three different coloured 1s in the bottom left. Then he should have taken his blue 3 and added it to the set of 3s with the joker in it and thereby dislodge the joker. Then he should have taken the orange 7 from the set of four 7s and placed it next to the orange 4 5 and 6 row. After that he he would have needed to place the joker next to that 7 so that he could then add his orange 9. Having done that he then could have dislodged the orange 4 from that set and taken the black 4 from the black row on the left of the table and added his own blue 4 to form a set of three 4s.Then all he would have needed to do was take one of the red 5s and take the orange 5 and add his own black 5 to form a set of 5s and he would have won.
Holy crap!! If I have to figure all that out in order to play this game I might as well go back to Uno!
Intuitively obvious!
Our family plays Rummikub either daily or every other day and make moves like this or more complicated all the time. Remember though, you have to finish all your moves in 60 seconds or else face the 3 tile penalty!
That 60 second rule mentioned below just burst my bubble...🤷♀️🤣.
I just bought the same one! Reminds me of Gucci colors and the metal legs for the tile racks. Had to have it!
A combination of Scrambled, dominoes, Uno, Mahjong and Solitaire.
Well done! I’m completely new to the game and now I can play and teach my family. Thank you!😀 Actually, I’ll just show them your video.😁
It's actually more fun with 4 or 5 players
Yo, i was teaching my kids this game and i showed them this video my kids’ reaction= :O. i was so astonished at the quality of this video. Thnx so much!
Thank you so much rummikub has been at the back of my cupboard for years and we finally no how to play it
Thank you! This was exactly what I needed to know to play with my grandkids!!
Awesome! Have fun! :)
Thanks guys! Didn't understand the rules of our new family Christmas game.. Now I get it!
i just learned this last week by one of the residents at my work place, sm fun too play!
Best video on the subject of Rummikub. Well done!
I rarely play this game, but when I do, I need to relearn this game every time, so fun!
That is really nice but for some, consider the same layout but use natural speed explaining each move one or the other makes. It would help a bunch of people enjoy the game~
Finally we could start the game with our kids)))
Amazing explanation, thank you for showing the rules so clear. 🎉
I just bought this game today and was so confused reading the instructions. Now I get it and this looks SO fun!! I'm glad I got it and can't wait to play it! Thank you! (I may haha questions. 😉)
When the joker is used in a sequence (i.e., 1-12) and represents red 8, for example, if a player splits the sequence to create another one and takes the joker off the end of the split to use in another group or sequence, do they still have to replace the joker with a red 8 tile? In other words, if there was a sequence of 1-12 where the joker represented red 8, a player splits that sequence by taking the 9-12 to get to that joker, can they take the joker off the end, leaving 1-7, and making the joker equal another color tile and number, like blue 12? They would have red 1-7, red 9-12, and the red 8 now becomes blue 12 (e.g., blue 10,11,12)?
I think they have to replace the joker with red 8 no matter what. There was a question when we played for the first time.
Sorry if my question is confusing. Thanks for reading.
Best Tutorial Ever!
Thanks for this detailed explanation!
Very very good! We now understand this game and are playing it. Thanks
So easily explained, thank you 👍
I keep getting argued against this, but I thought this was the rule, can anyone correct or thumbs up?:
Your initial meld is ONLY your own tiles and has to be at least 30. And then on your subsequent turn, you can then add/manipulate whatever how you please. Everyone says no, on your SAME INITIAL MELD TURN, after you have played the initial 30 point meld, you can also add/manipulate, etc. which I think is INCORRECT.
The rule on the initial meld of what you think is also correct. But in the actual gameplay I only draw one then pass because its a strategy
So helpful! Way better than instructions. Thanks!
Many thanks. Awesome explanation.
Thanks so much the instructions here are super clear! Anybody can understand them.
Nope me and my mom are tryna play but I barely understand it!
Thank yoh for that! Rummikub will be (hopefully) more fun this way.
This is really helpful to me! Thanks for creating this video! Now I could play with my 90 yo grandma!
Very well explained. Thank you!
Thank you! This was really helpful
Yea you guys explained this so well! The included written rules had us debating for 20 minutes 🤣🤣. Thanks for saving us!!!
very well explained.Thank you
Thank you for this tutorial! Very helpful.
You're welcome! Enjoy the game! :)
Thanks for the video, the instructions had me lost!
Glad it helped! Enjoy the game :)
Very well explained thank you so much
How to get point of the game that after all parts done? and how about to make doubling the tiles that collect same tile as two, is it exist in Rummikub?
I bought a Rummy-O set at a yardsale and never played it because we didnt know the rules. Thank you for your help 🎉 the wife and I now love this game.
Thanks a lot!! Very clear instructions! :)
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
I suggest you guys to play Turkish "101 Okey" which means "101 Rubbikub" actually. There should be tutorials on UA-cam. It's a little complex but very very fun to play with friends. It has a little intrigue inside and that makes it funnier.
Thank you! Now I got the rules.
do you add the tiles left in your hand when the other player wins? Do you play to a certain number of points to finish the game
the messenger sound you had playing was so cruel!! thought I was popular for a second
Assume that there is black run from 6-12 on the table. I have two 9 ( blue and red) in my hand, question: May I take the black 9 what divides the run into two 3 tile runs 6,7,8 and 10,11,12 in order to use black 9 for my set of nines ?
I just bought this game at a thrift store and look forward to playing, love your video so thank you. I do have a couple questions 1) do you keep score throughout and if so that can get real confusing but the directions state that if the game is over and you still have the joker you lose 30 points. and 2) is it possible that the game may not end in both players using all the tiles so maybe this is where a point system might be needed?
Well actually, there are a few different ways you can play this game. Just like there is more then one set of rules for the game UNO. The version you see in this video is single game gameplay. You can also play it using points. For example, you would play three games in a row and whoever has the least amount of points would win. Hope that helps! It's a fun game, enjoy!
Thank you it makes sense now 👍
I just tried to read the rules and got so confused, this video explains it perfectly!
Happy to hear it helped! :) Have fun!
Best strategy game!! Great video btw
I have running and I'm good
Very good explaining
Great tutorial!! I forgot how to play it. Thank you for the refresher course :)
*btw...Who would give this video a thumbs down? Doesn’t make any sense.*
Glad I could provide the refresher! :) It's a fun game, enjoy!
The thumbs down are probably from all the people who still can't understand how to play the game..
Word of Advice TV *Haha*
Roarke6 thanks for the refresher course,I love this game
I was excited about the tutorial because I am teaching a group this coming week how to play. The only part that did not appear correct is the last hand moving the 5's around to use her 2 and 6. There was a joker in the sequence of 5's and she never replaced the joker with a 5 but used it to make 2,3,4,5,6. The way I play you have to replace the joker with the tile number it was representing which in this case was a '5' and she did have one. Unfortunately I won't be using this tutorial...I'm disappointed. I love this game and hope others will too.
Some people complain their ice cream is too cold.
Very clear video. Thx!
When you do the splits to create more groups or runs, do you get all the points? If you add a 12 to a run, for example, do you add up all the points of the numbers on the table?
Hiya, can you rearrange tiles already on the board to help you make a set? For example if there was 555 and 2345 on the table, and you needed one of the 5's in the first set could you move the 5 in the second set and add it to the first set so that you could take the relevant coloured 5 to make a brand new set
Rachel Gregoire Yes, as long as there are no duplicate colors in the group of 5’s.
Best explanation of the game!
Thank you! :)
So if I have a joker in my rack I can make a set purely from that and other things in my rack? I don’t have to use something that’s already on the table
Amazing 👌 bro
You are one 😍 who explained the best 👍
Hello, if I have a 4-chip ladder with a joker, for example (4 5 6 7 C) it is understood that the joker can be replaced by an 8, my question is, Can I move the joker to the other end and replace it with a 3? and use the joker to put together another game? Greetings, good explanation of the Game.
Excellent video, but I still have a question: what if there are no more tiles in the bunch? We should decide with points remaining from each player? thank you
Yep, you would just tally up the remaining tiles in each player's hand
This is helpful thanks!
How do u calculate the points of who is winning and who is losing?
1. Do you play with a 2 minute time for each player. 2. Does the 1 who puts the joker down decide on what color it should be (in a meld that has 2 different colors and a joker- can the player decide what color the 4th one can be? Like if it's orange, black and joker - does the player decide the 4th one is either green or red or can the next player change the joker into any color in the sequence?
Great tutorial!
Hi.... I have a doubt.... Is it compulsory for a player to put tiles from his/her rack instead of just rearranging the previous tiles put down on the surface?
Great video, thanks! One question I had is whether the final move in this game should have been allowed... the joker is representing a 5 and hence should it not require a yellow or blue 5 to clear it (since it is part of a group and not a run) before it could then be re-used as a 3 in the new run?
Or I guess that the set of 5s is split by adding the red five to the 234 set and the black five is now part of a new set (456), and the joker is now clear...?
Atlas Cedar this is my question!!!! I don’t think (according to the Rummikub rules) that play would be allowed. But I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as you’re consistent about it? Bc even with splitting the group of 5, you’re only supposed to get the joker if you put down exactly what the joke represents. Or so the rules say
You can free a joker without replacing it with the exact piece
I might have missed something but I have a scoring question. When you add to another players line do you only count the points that you laid down or do you count the whole line?
I thought you could only group 3 or 4 tiles but they've got up to a group of 8 (Red tiles 5 through to 12) around 3-4 minutes mark?
Can you use the joker from the board or must you change it from your rack..say you need a yellow 3 and can move the other 3 on the board and take the yellow 3...
Do you have to time each player for a minute for each turn?
am I the only carat who search this to understand seventeen playing this game? lol ok then
im doing that right now ahaha
lmaoo mee
Wow
Super helpful!! Thanks’
Enjoy the game! ;)
Can you use 2 jokers from your rack and the pool/river to create 2 melds
If you can only make one move, do you draw another tile?
How do you keep score in a two player game? We chose to play five rounds and at the end of round the player who went out got points for the sum of unplayed tiles of the other player. Thoughts?
When a player puts down his initial meld of 30 points or more, does he have to wait until his next turn before he can play on other player's tiles or can he do that on the same turn in which he melded. Different friends I play with have different opinions on this. I was taught that when I meld, I then pass to the next player and wait until my turn comes round again to play the board. Please clarify. thank you.
How do you pick tiles when you draw a double
Thank you so much I have a hard time with this game
So like.. um.. can you add more tiles onto anyone's tiles or just your own?
