I was a lineman in Southeast Texas. We had a sky crane like this that was setting metal 2 pole H - structures for our 138 k v transmission line that several twister's from a hurricane that damaged several structures. It was an awesome sight to see. God bless them all for a job well done❣️❣️❣️
I've done this before being taken up by the long line and it was FUN!!! Only difference was is that I wasn't strapped to a safety harness. I was holding on to a 250' longline and my feet were between the rungs of the hook. It was at the end of the day of helicopter logging. The the guy you call a hooker hooks up logs to the hook that's suspended 250' down opposite of the helicopter. We were on a very steep hill high in the mountains. The original plan was to have the helicopter land and we would get in and be flown out to the landing but it was too steep for the helicopter to land so plan B was to get on the hook and ride out.
I'm a senior researcher at Heimkeeper Co., Ltd.Our company has an idea to reduce propeller noise and vibration of helicopters and drones. We're done with the experiment. We have applied for a utility model and a patent As a result of several experiments with small propellers, the current noise and vibration reduction effect is about 30%.Looking forward good news from you soon
@@mjfirthau nope the fuel tanks are in the fuselage in the forward and aft sections and the helicopter burns 500 gallons an hour so the flight time for them is quite short , they have to refuel after doing one lift.
@@ShortArmOfGod Correction it's like walking on a 2 lane road (no sidewalk) while having all vehicles travel constantly at 50mph or higher (NO SLOWING DOWN). You're more likely to die from an accident with a 600lb blade spinning at 500rpm than you are from walking a sidewalk.

Experience plays the main factor. There are pilots out there who were lucky enough to start early in their careers, and built a lot of time doing this type of work(precision long line) who could probably strap themselves into a S-64 and have no problem? I know one hydro pilot in his late 40’s with over 10K hours, who could put anyone to shame with a 100ft long line, but would much rather fly a light helicopter(AS-350) single pilot, than a heavy with a big crew.

Any sling load job is always exciting. You gotta be well rested, and at the top of your game 🚁 Been there, done that 👍🇺🇸
yeah right. and you have to be part super man too. I've done lots worse and riskier half asleep. 😂

I looked up "bad ass" in Websters. It had a link to this video.
My brother is a mechanic/maintanence worker for Siller Brothers!
I'm sure he's named a beneficiary.

What frik’n wild video. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Those choppers are bad ass👍😄 And people get paid to do this….how cool
Wow... !!! My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks Have a happy day! Keep it up! +thumb up3!
That Sikorsky is a BEAST. It looks like it uses a lot of fuel, and that there would not be sufficient fuel on board.
There was fuel truck there
@@freedoggg Were You part of the job? Excellent video btw!
I believe it’s in the legs, my brother in law built and maintains that aircraft, I’ve sat in that thing.

Probably holds between 200 to 500 gallons of fuel at 1 time, my guess?
That dude that climbed the helicopter with the blades spinning was kind of crazy.
No, he wasn't. That's like saying someone walking on a sidewalk is crazy because they're only a few feet from the cars.
It’s extremely common, since it’s the only way to detect leakage at full rpm.
@@ShortArmOfGod that is also crazy
Kind of stupid......

Surprised they don’t have some kind of safeguards for static electricity discharge!

The marvel mystery oil can be added in with the oil.& Into the fuel also.
I’m curious why do they use wood poles in a fire prone area and they use concrete poles or steel in the city???

Do Pilots with a lot of age and experience do this type of Flying or do they think it's too dangerous and prefer a different type of flying?

Man they’d have to pay me ALLOT for that dangling from a helicopter by a rope shit!
