Great video as always! Lovely to see you and chat on Saturday. Sorry we had to get off after the junior races, we were off on holiday. See you again soon 😊 John, Olivia and William
It's funny how the age categories are worked out. I think sometimes there might be massive age gaps between the children running in the same category. Some are nearly 13, some are already 14 (depends what month they were born), and some are only 12, and they all run in the same category. I've always thought it was not very fair. All my 3 children were born in August too. In some races you can only run from the age of 18 as an adult but for the juniors they only go up to under 17 mostly. When Vladimir was still 16, he wasn't officially in under 17 anymore, so in some events he couldn't run in junior race but wasn't old enough to be allowed to run in senior ones. To be honest this age gap inequality has always been irritating me. I might bring in up in the next committee meeting.
@@johnwiggans8439 thank you, that's a strange rule that really works against some kids but if that's the rules then that's what you have to work with. On the other hand I love seeing kids competing like this, I hear so much about school sports days not allowing filming, not having winners, etc, which is daft
@@markcameron3I agree. It's great for the children to compete properly. They've gone all soft in schools about competing. When it comes to filming on school grounds and not being able to put it in public domain, it's because some children are under safeguarding protection and they shouldn't be easily found especially in public space, plus you can only officially film outside if it's public grounds. Schools are not public grounds.
I watch because you are Fun Olga.....I like the Scenery, the Villages and Just seeing People having fun.... But I have a YT Friend that has started running again after two years.... He is quite quick. He lives in Kendal so you might attend the same races.... I will try and find out where and when he is running... But I will always watch your videos...... I must have a Bum fetish...... LOL...... :-)) xxxxxx
Oh Thank you, David. That's cool your friend is doing fell running now too. Maybe I see him at an event at some point. Yes, I think the running away bottoms dominate most of my videos.
Hi Olga. Thanks for the great video in which I seem to feature far too much in by far my slowest ever Pike Race. What I didn't mention is that in addition to being an FRA member for over 30 years, I also happen to be the editor for Strider magazine, (the triannial publication of the Long Distance Walkers Association). Current issue includes the second instalment of Karen Nash's epic Transpyrenea Race exploit. Also you might wish to watch the recently released three part video of last year's LDWA 100 event which you may find inspirational - ua-cam.com/video/6enHBSJVFfU/v-deo.html - There are many fell runners who are also LDWA members.
Once again, sorry for the adverts. You Tube puts them on automatically.
Great video Olga, brings back many memories of running that race! And well done on competing and taking such excellent video coverage!
Thank you, Rick. Hope you are well.

Great effort to all. Lucky to get a gap in all the rain we have had. Best wishes Olga.
Thank you, Nigel. Yes it was a nice change, the following day was also ok but very windy, we went up Pendle hill.

John Wild ex RAF. What a team they had in the 80’s.
They were definitely strong and tough back then.

If Olivia is 12 why doesn't she run in u13?
It is age as at the 31st December this year

@@OlgasBritishFells you should ask what are the rules for adult age groups and question why they're different for kids
