      @pagrainfarmer  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Michael - Up until about 6 years ago, I never had a trailer. Even now my 16 foot utility trailer is not heavy enough to haul a tractor like the 770. So I get Cory to do it for me. He's had the experience loading narrow front tractors on a "2-ramp" trailer and does a nice job of it, so I don't even try driving the tractors on or off. Glad my video brought back memories of your Dad's tractor.

      Good to hear from you, my friend. Yeah, that's a special skill. I never had a trailer like that and never hauled tractors, so I had no experience doing that. I was blessed to have a friend like him who had done it lots of times. If you watch Bandit Farmer"s channel, he bought a 770 a few months ago and I believe he and Jacob (Boehm) loaded it the same way.

Glad to have found it and for sure i will do more videos showing the work I have been doing to it the last couple days since I brought it home - just a number of little things to make it better. Sweet 770! I don't mind having a few things to fix. They don't feel like they are truly mine until I have worked on them, even if it's just changing fluids and a tune up. I'm glad you're getting a muffler for it. That smooth 6 cylinder is more impressive without the cackle of open exhaust, in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing it in more videos.

      Well, we got it the day before yesterday and yesterday my friend Dan and I worked on it. Got that muffler on it. It has no lights so we ran all new wiring and also worked on the brakes a little. Gonna get the new lights and brackets painted and also will paint the new seat mechanism and install that. All little things. Thanks for watching and commenting, Chris. There'll be more.

    Just cant go wrong with a 770, i really prefer the wide front, but if i could have two 770s, I would go with a wide front and a narrow front. Im actually looking at a Super 77 right now to go with my 770. Great find Charlie, hope that tractor works really good for you. I grew up on a 770 and loved it so much i bought my own.

      @pagrainfarmer  Рік тому

      I like both narrow and wide front ends. While the wide fronts have their uses, I really like the narrow fronts for things like backing up implements, etc., especially wagons. Narrow fronts are a lot nimbler.

      The pickup of the 770 happened yesterday. Today my friend Dan came over and we worked on the 770 all afternoon Got a proper muffler installed. Put in some bolts that were missing in the radiator (basically it was just the hoses that were holding it in place. We wired it for the lights, which I plan to install in the next couple days - as soon as I get them painted. We also worked on the brakes and believe it or not, straightened out the right-hand brake pedal, which was bent and was causing the 3-part brake system to come apart. Still more to do - all just minor stuff - a really straight old tractor. I was lucky to find it and fortunate that the previous owner was very nice and gave me a great deal.

      @@pagrainfarmer Your like me when I get a new to me tractor, Go threw it and make it right and the way you want it to be. I still dont know the story about the one I bought but after talking to his brothers he seams he took care of stuff he had. I'm going to say his stuff sat several years before it was sold and the more I run it the more I believe it was over hauled by the way it runs. Doesnt burn oil real peppy and it pulled my MM disk with ease and with it showing 6000 hours on the tack I'm pretty sure it was over hauled at some point in the past. It really dont matter to me I really like it and love the sound she has and thats all that matters to me. I was amazed that all the lights work even the little red light on the fender , That one never works on them ! I still cant believe I got it bought for what I did but I got lucky ! I had it hooked to the drill this year and that is now the drill tractor for sure now, That 2 speed really makes a big difference on the ends, Just pull it back into low raise the drill turn drop it pop it back in direct and go and never touch the throttle ! For some reason it seams to be more nimble than the 1550's for some reason. All I know is I really like that old 770 for some reason and dad says he really likes how it sounds so smooth and quiet running. You will have it whipped into shape in short order and your going to love it ! Bandit

    • @pagrainfarmer
      @pagrainfarmer  Рік тому

      @@banditfarmer1900 Yeah, I think we are alike in that way. I like to go through stuff. Once I get some of these things straightened around on the 770, then I'll go through it and go down my checklist like I do for each tractor in the spring -- servicing, changing oil, greasing, checking bearings, etc. I like to make sure they're right.I don't know much of the history of this tractor other than that the engine was rebuilt 2 years ago. It has all new tires and a new radiator. What Dan I found the day after i got it home is that the new radiator was not exactly the right one. It definitely works, but the neck is not long enough - the radiator cap is below the level hood, instead of the neck of the radiator sticking up like it does on the 1550 and 1650. The young man who lives next door to the farm works in our local radiator shop. I called him and he came up and looked at it and said they can put a new, longer neck on that radiator, so the cap will be above the hood and I don't have to raise the hood to check the water. Like I said before - a bunch of little things. I was busy Thursday - day 2 - painting the lights and light brackets and assembling them. I also painted the new seat mechanism and heated and removed the roll pins in the old seat mechanism so I can remove it easily to put the new one on. I also worked on the lever that hold the left brake locked on. It needed a little love. I'll get it the way i want it pretty soon.

      @@pagrainfarmer A lot of the new after market parts you get now are a little on the iffy side as far as fitting right, I run into this a lot ! LOL But I have a torch and welder and other tools to make something fit if I need too. I'm getting good at finding parts to fit when original parts cant be found. I like to go threw one when I get it so I dont get any surprises to deal with, If there is a problem I want to know ASAP ! I'd rather know its ready to go if I got to relie on it in a pinch. I had to adjust both brakes first thing after it came off the truck cause they were really weak to the least, If your not used to the brakes on those Oliver's you can do a few bad things real quick ! LOL Not being used to a left brake on your left leg takes a bit to get used to , Just ask Jacob ! LOL I think he is in love with that old Case 730 now and it looks like he's using it for more jobs now, I wonder when it will end up on the baler to bale with ? Bandit

    • @pagrainfarmer
      @pagrainfarmer  Рік тому

      @@banditfarmer1900 My buddy Dan, also an Oliver enthusiast, stopped up the day after we brought the 770 home. WE tore the brakes apart and unseized the adjusters and got them working again. Also this tractor had no lights, except for the little red bullet light on the left rear, so we rewired everything back to the lights. We also put bolts in the radiator - the only thing holding it in place were the 2 radiator hoses. The 3-part brake pedals kept coming apart, which usually means they need adjusted, which we did, but then we realized that the right-hand pedal was bent back, so of course the connector to the middle pedal wanted to slide out. We heated it and fixed that. The next day I painted the new lights I got for it and the light brackets as well, as they were missing. Also painted the new seat mechanism I ordered. So, the day after that, I installed all that stuff and wow, the lights even work now! And the seat flexes up and down the way it should. There'll be a video talking about all that in the near future.
