Awesome video sweet looking tractor and some good country music never get tired of the two cylinder sound Only thing better if you had George Jones singing 😀
Growing up on a farm in NE Illinois, my dad had a 1952 John Deere G that had been heavily modified. I once pulled a 10' fertilizer spreader, a 10' disk, and a 10' drag all at once behind that tractor in third gear. Covered 80 acres in 10 hours. Nothing sweeter than the sound of one of these old two cylinders working under a load.
My dad has a 59 730 Diesel, factory wide front, but it's electric start. By far my all time favorite two cylinder John Deere!!! Thanks for the video!!!
You have a GREAT looking 730 and you did an excellent job with the video! When I was growing up on our farm my Dad had two 720s on LP gas. Lots of power from those tractors. I suppose if I buy one, just for fun, I need to get a gas or diesel burner to make fueling easier. Thanks for making this video, it brings back lots of pleasant memories.
Nice tractor, nice plow. The effort in making videos like this is very much appreciated and I love watching them. Grew up a farm kid on John Deere A and B tractors (also a then-new Massey Ferguson 165, but that wasn't as enjoyable), so that two-cylinder sound is really nice to hear. Could do without the music playing in the background, though (not meaning to offend and Willie's a long-time favorite), because it seems best to let that John Deere sing solo. Wonder if a wireless mic (transmitter on the 730, receiver on the camera) would capture the feel of being close to it? Guess it would have to be shot differently. The camera would need to be much closer, like tracking nearby, or from the operator's position, etc. Of course, that all requires a little more equipment and planning time, two things that aren't always available.
Great video. I am from Argentina, South américa, and, here we have a 730 Diesel ( in my house we had 7 of this tractors) but, had a little diferences: 1- Here dont have a "Pony Starter", had only a electric engine for start, 24 volts, . 2- Here we have plows with bottom of 12 or 14 inches (we dont know 16 "" bottom.) In my 730 i had a 5 bottom plow (bottom af 12 inches)and ise in second speed. Congratulations. See you any time.
Very nicely done!!! I have two F145H plows, a 3-14 I cut out of a 5-14 and I pull it with a '49 A (w/ an 801 hitch and custom sway blocks) in second gear and an original 4-16 that I hope to put behind a 720D someday, I noticed your's was originally a 5 bottom. Great looking and sounding 730D good looking plow and awesome video!!!
hey I'm impressed, I couldn't pull a 4-16 on my 720D or 730D here in NE, & your not even using rear wheel weights, you have fluid in those rears? Did have the same plow your using on a 4020D tho & it would pull that plow like a knife thru butter on any type of soil..
North East Arkansas gumbo would make you have to go with a smaller plow either a 4 12" or a 3 18" sandy loam dirt easier to pull through. Draft control better be working
Dont like the music! video is good though. I grew up on a A JD spent a lot of time on a 70 diesel then on a 620 gas and diesel then a 730 both gas and diesel and out of all of them I just bought a 59 730 diesel row crop with electric start! I know it sounds weird to buy a tractor older than I am but its what I grew up with and you can never beat that sound!

Pulling that Mounted 4 bottom like a Champ 🏆
now why is there music? THe best sound in the world, and you cover it with music.

I'd never imagine. And still can't understand WHY... A tractor with only 2 cylinders. But man that tractor is AWESOME
JOHN DEERE TWO CYLINDER ENGINES WERE BIG BORE LONG STROKE LOW RPM WORKING ENGINES THAT DEVELOPED A LOT OF TORQUE THEY COULD LUG DOWN AND NOT STALL

We had a 5, 16" John Deere integral plow we used behind our John Deere 70 and 730 tractors and also our 4020 and 4010 tractors
Finally!! A john Deere man who knows how to set a plow lol Im an Oliver / Massey man but I like all kinds.
I would have never believed that an invisible radio on a tractor could be so load.
Slick!
Two 730s were my main horses in Ohio during the seventys four sixteens fourth gear in cornstocks third gear in sod.fuel mizers.
Nice video!!!!

Very nice video.
What type of plow ? Are the spring loaded coulters original? I want to buy a 730 and plow.
Use to pull 3-18 12inchs deep in 3 and on the flat 4 gear with 720
screwed up the sound of a fantastic diesel with crap noise
Third, or Fourth gear?
Why the cacophony? Is not the sound of the engine music enough?
had to stop. only made 124aint here for music.
Why Cant U pull that little plow in 6th Gear awesome video GET ER DONE
Cut the music! Nice tractor....
@regaltracks check out the other two videos!
