0:40 I must still be wearing rose-tinted glasses. I do not remember this game having as many typos as it’s had thus far. I just recall the one you can find from the third chapter onwards. 2:33 I’d also forgotten that the doghouse in this game doesn’t give you barrier. 3:48 Imagine PCs in this era being made without jack-in ports (or sensors in this case since from BN4 onwards PETs use infrared instead of cables for connection). 4:20 Energy Bomb class chips hit the square they land on three times in quick succession, so technically it does more raw damage than the Quake1 we picked up last time (120 total vs. a flat 100). The hits are also small enough that they don’t trigger I-frames in later fights. However the trade off is that enemies that don’t flinch (like all viruses) can potentially move out of the lingering explosion and not take the full damage, as if lob type chips weren’t on the slower side already. 6:15 There’s a couple other caveats to regular chips, but none that we can currently discuss right now. 8:44 Even in the future weather forecasts aren’t always accurate…which is only half true. The thing the layman doesn’t know about weather forecasts is that technically they’re right, just not necessarily for a given area. When the weatherman on your local station says that there’s a 40% chance of rain in your area, it means that rain will definitely be passing through the general area that the forecast covers. It’s just that there’s only a 40% chance that the rain will hit your specific area as the system passes by. 9:04 I say take it at your own pace. If you want to grind zenny to buy out shops and get the Unlockers you need, go for it. Whatever helps keep you from getting too burned out (you are going to have to play this game twice over at least and far enough into DTDS to show off the changes. It may not be BN4 in terms of repetitiveness, but it’s still not short either). Also I wouldn’t say that, outside of certain setups, the chips you can normally buy or get through unlockers are terribly broken. They make the game easier, sure, but this game doesn’t get difficult until much later anyways, so you’re not making things too easy if that makes sense. 12:06 “I telegraphed that one!” 13:25 A word of warning for those playing along: PAs got a slight nerf in this game in that you are only allowed to perform any given PA once per battle, so that Giga Cannon 1 can only be done once. Granted, you’d only ever be able to do Giga Cannon 1 once since you’re capped at 5 chips of the same exact name per folder for Standard chips (and IIRC no duplicates at all for Mega and Giga chips), but for future PAs that have alternative combinations such as Life Sword that will come into play. 15:12 Also when it comes to trying to grind certain chips.

Ok, so my comment earlier was about DS version, but so far the only departure I see is that the Homepages were completly redesigned. One thing about them though? Compared to earlier games I kind off do not find them that usefull - with exception of 2 later pages. With the ACDC network being remarkably small and much more linear than earlier games and all of them being in ACDC1 they do not offer the ease of navigation... Though it makes mje wonder if Yai's page was supposed to be somewhere else, because I don't think there are Champies anywhere on her HP, nor its vicinity.
It always gets me how in every game you need to reacquire your friends' homepage codes. Like either the homepage software is so laughably backwards that it deletes all permissions with each update or else they're pretty bad friends to not just give him the code each time it changes.
For the off camera grinding, do as much as you need/want to (just don't burn yourself out). As you said, you can't really level up, and the extra chips you might get while doing this could come in handy later on anyways
An amusing fact: You can never fight Glide in any of the MMBN game. You fight Gutsman and Roll in pretty much all of the games as either story or optional fights but never Glide. I'm almost certain he's the only Navi with a unique design that you never face in a fight (and if the Sprite rips of the games are to be blieved they never even made Battle Sprites for him)
Episode three, and we reached five marks. XD Friendos being their precious selves. The fun thing about starting the Battle Network games again is finding the little things Capcom added to ACDC. A weather observation system disguised as a tree seriously sounds awesome. Actually, pertaining to the previous sentence, I just like seeing the new and/or different things Lan can jack into. ^^
For off-camera grinding, I feel like having enough unlockers generally around to unlock purple mystery data as you encounter it would save you plenty of on-screen headache in the long run, not having to try and remember where they all were or backtrack to pick them up later - that way you could show off the goodies as you get to them ^^ So, however much you feel like you wanna do, I doubt anyone would be opposed to it!
Personally id say some off camera grinding would be fine since i do know whats in the 1st purple mystery data from last vid and it be handy soonish and having more useful chips from the shops is always a plus
Maybe Show the differences between GBA and DS as you go. As far as grinding is concerned, maybe stock up on in lockers and Zenny as much as you need for a particular section or each area. Once the net gets more expansive, just max out on sub chips for less backtracking in the future. That’s what I think for a plan. Good job as always Roahm!
Oh dont ever apologize about text in RPGs. Not to me anyway. I enjoy that type of thing in RPGs. Learning more about the characters and the worldbuilding. Its what RPGs excel at after all. And also I like the fact that we dont have Dex's annoying brother this time. Not at the start anyway.
I'm also in the boat of grind if you want to, though I wouldn't complain if you recorded it and maybe had a few clips of funny things that happened during the grind
I think I've seen a bit of it in action? I feel like I remember the models looked kind of slightly off to me, something about the eyes, but still interesting to see such a project.
Sorry to hear about excessive heat and humidity, especially since it's only going to get worse due to continued corporate greed and ineptitude both public and private. Future so bright.... As far as this game and series of videos go so far, it's rather nice when a game can work its tutorials and system explains organically into the universe like with the BBSes...and quite silly when it can't like almost everything else. The school report recitation oddly works though. Also, yeah, doing the different version differences at the end of this series of videos seems for the best or at least far less of a headache in keeping track--probably. The grinding issue is a bit more uncertain, especially since you can't become directly overleveled in these game. I think that grinding is fine for an item or two the game would reasonably expect you to have or at least seems fine for something that doesn't trivialize encounters in the (upcoming) area. Otherwise maybe you shouldn't bother, at least this early in the game.
Ya know, I really have to wonder what exactly Lan does to make his friends lock him out of their networks after ever mmbn game. And what's with Dex moving?! His new house is blaaaa, his old one looked much better. Blaa I say, blaa.

@@RoahmMythril I actually have one, and let me tell you... you're not missing much. It's another case of great concept, bad execution. The one classic game I ever played on it was Donkey Kong Jr., and you had to scan a whopping _10 codes_ to be able to play it. A little excessive there? More often than not, I used the codes from some of the Pokemon sets that supported the e-reader (Expedition, Aquapolis and Skyridge). There were two minigames I mainly played with those. The first was Machop At Work, where you play as a Machop that punches boulders. If you break 50 or more, the Machop evolves into Machoke at the end, and a perfect score of 100 has the Machop evolve twice. The other was Construction: Action, a kind of build-your-own-minigame where you need to scan codes for a playable character and somewhere between 1 and 6 screens. When you play, you go around catching Pokemon by throwing Poke Balls at them, and you win if you catch all of them within the time limit. 10:09 Lemme finish that sentence. "...will never come to fruition."
More net exploring!
0:12 - 0:22 - While I'm not from Texas, I do know where you're coming from with humidity.
6:26 - 6:28 - Brian Johnson is a squirrel? (Sorry, dumb joke is dumb)
18:54 - It's Gutsman! *DUN DUN*
Summer heat whew, we've been hitting 90s this week in Sota.
We're not known for heat.
Hectopascal, by the way, is the term for 100 Pascals. A Pascal is used to determine pressure and tensile strength
Happens to be a convenient unit for talking about atmospheric pressure specifically, so the talking about weather forecast fits.
I miss rage duck
Grind as much as you want, like you said it’s not like it’s going to affect us a ton
Wouldn't be mad if Battle Network did end up being our future. Would love a Navi lol
Oh hey, also in Southeast Texas here, yeah, the weather has been awful.
Oh jeez, recommendations show MMBN 4 being recorded 6 years ago! I remember watching them as they came out. Wow.
It always gets me how in every game you need to reacquire your friends' homepage codes. Like either the homepage software is so laughably backwards that it deletes all permissions with each update or else they're pretty bad friends to not just give him the code each time it changes.
"Elements are everything." He said it, not me
Selfed contained bonus video for Double Team DS sounds like a good idea.
Does Mayl play resident evil? You can shop in resident evil 4, and there's the piano in 1
I wouldn't mind if you did off screen grinding like you did during the first 2 Battle network Let's Plays
I'm almost certain he's the only Navi with a unique design that you never face in a fight (and if the Sprite rips of the games are to be blieved they never even made Battle Sprites for him)
I kinda imagine him using fencing techniques. But that would also fit a potential Enker.exe
I can imagine Glide throwing silverware, summoning Kettle viruses, and blasting MegaMan with jets of scalding tea
Episode three, and we reached five marks. XD
Friendos being their precious selves.
That Tree Comp becomes important for one short moment near the end of the game.
Dang....BN5 had a lot more typos than i thought...sheesh. I think it’s still better than 4 though
I can definitely sympathize with feeling bad during summer heat. Believe it or not, but Siberia can be pretty hot.
"Make him stop saying that!" ... Did you just quote "What's Up, Doc?" AWESOME.
Haha, indeed I did, one of my favorite movies ;)
grind as much as you like drago
Push the SELECT......Classy stuff Capcom lol.
Ah yes, Battle Network English, how we missed you.
I wonder what Sal thinks about a tree you can jack-in to.
Hey Roahm have you heard about the overclock demo? It's a fan made 3D remake of the first game.
I think I've seen a bit of it in action? I feel like I remember the models looked kind of slightly off to me, something about the eyes, but still interesting to see such a project.
Yeah. The teeth stick out too much and the generic NPCs... dear god their faces. Still interesting as you say. I think the demo goes up to Fireman.
He sends them bad memes.
He posts cringe
@@jouheikisaragi6075 oooo, i like this line of thinking, but let's take it one step further; He talks mad smack while playing Fortnite but has a KDR of 1/700. :D
My guess is security updates and such, and they've never gotten around to re-granting him access, since his old codes likely wouldn't work. That's my headcanon, anyway.
Just the one "Thank", you boys have to learn to share.
Was so confused why Mayl's PC looked completely different in the legacy collection but then I realized the japanese version has completely different layouts for the friend's PCs
I usually pick Busterup for my Regular Chip since it gives you that extra boost of damage through the whole battle in case you get in a pinch.
Commence the grind montage!!!
Maybe use hacking codes for zenny because you will be grinding forever
what is the "you are not me make him stop saying that" quote from
A movie by the name of "What's Up Doc?" There's a character named Hugh, but due to his accent, when he introduces himself, it sounds like he's saying "I am you," which greatly confuses and frustrates a judge during a court scene.
Does anyone like me where COVID-19 situation starts increasing rapidly and now only allow ‘takeaway foods’?
You'll definitely want at least one unlocker soon.
Every one of his titles should have a typo
"Common multiple units of the pascal are the hectopascal (1 hPa = 100 Pa), which is equal to one millibar, and the kilopascal (1 kPa = 1000 Pa), which is equal to one centibar."
Just felt like sharing that in case the Prog that just felt like saying that confused you
I agree it would probably make everything flow better waiting for the end to show the additional content outside of the original two games like the ds version and the e-reader
Though if anything with the e-reader is like how good the z-saber was I might say go for it if you can it in without too much trouble
I completely forgot ereader cards was a thing. Though hmm.
Grinding is kind of inevitable in megaman games really.
WAIT- Roll posted that she went with Mayl to get her Progress PET claiming "It's easier for *our* navis to get around"
Navis have navis? Naviception!
Hey, Roahm, I know I’m a bit late, but did Pink ever tell you that she did testing for one of the versions in Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch? I found this out after seeing MegaQuint clear Chapter 7, I believe.
Battle Network 5 has a lot more typos than I remember there being
You can grind out of camera if you want, it will also let you demonstrate the PA mode since you'd have lots of the same chips, though I haven't played this game myself so idk if it's way too imbalanced for the stage he's in rn
looking forward to the bonus vid for the ds version, seeing that's the one i own, on another note, would you be interested in the ys series? they are rpgs, but their not long ones, and have adventure game elements, i honestly feel they are what zelda would be as an action rpg. (just to clarify, i'm not asking for a playthrough, though i wouldn't be against it, just recommending a series i love that needs more attention).
This game had E-reader support?
So it would seem, yes. I never had an e-reader myself, so I don't know too much about it.
Unfortunately, I was never able to get ahold of any cards that connected with any GBA games, so I wasn't able to experience how that works.
@@SuperGoker64 actually there is a hidden boss battle with Bass XX if you use ereader to acquire Bass Cross style. Hardest boss in the game and possibly the entire series. I’m really hoping he shows it.
The heat has been brutally oppressive up in Minnesota of all places, I can't even imagine how bad it must be in Texas. Let me know if you need me to freeze a puddle of durgon back into a solid shape! I'm a bit out of practice with Ice Beam but it's worth a shot.
May be necessary at this rate o.o;
Hey man, you know that in BN5 DS, if you insert a BN2 Cartridge in the GBA Slot of the DS, or just use a cheat for Fake Slot In, you can have a special seller that sells Unlockers for 2000 zenny in the Scilab
Photorealistic? On the game cube?
I'd say feel free to do as much grinding as you need to get the necessary Zenny, and to get available chips (as you did in previous BNs)
Double Team (NDS) has a TON of differences, including the gameplay and the unlockables. if you have no intention of touching the ds version, don't bother including it in the differences. you might as well play the game separately and do the comparison then... IF...
Personally, I prefer to have a Vulcan chip as my default chip. They're my favorite chip series after all.
That expensive LocEnemy 6000 Zenny. Don't need to grind the buy this early in to have. I wonder how unlocker will cost unlovk mystery data.
LocEnemy shouldn't cost that much, its effect is extremely short, and it doesn't work most of the time for me, at least in BN6 where i tested it
i think they design it specifically on late game grinding
Didn't realize there was a power outage wher you live. Hope it didn't get hot AC or fan. This episode reading alot of BBS posts.
Get as much money as you feel you need between parts. And show any interesting drops the enemies gave.
I hate that tree
