    if the dog is on the borderline, they almost ALWAYS get sick in the bording kennel or with a dog sitter. it's the added stress. signed a retired small animal vet who treated her fair share of dogs in that situation.

      Not a vet but I have a lot of experience with animals. The stress from change can be very worrying. They won’t eat they won’t drink they pace and act nervous no matter what you do to help. I brought my own dog to a friends house and he refused to eat. I had to go back home the next day because I don’t want him stressed out like that. I guess he just didn’t like my friend cuz he eats fine at my moms house.

    I also run an animal rescue and what the defendant is saying is something that some folks have a hard time understanding. If they are our dog WE NEED TO HAVE FULL SAY IN THE MEDICAL CARE. I’ve had fosters that seem to think we are made of money and can can pay for exorbitant services like it’s nothing. If I’m providing care for a dog, it needs to be at my vet under my direction. Once you adopt the dog then you are free to take them wherever you want

    I am an animal lover, have had both cats and dogs since my husband and I met 40 years ago, (Plus the entire time I was growing up) and I am likely just getting old and cranky, however these combine dog breeds are getting ridiculous!
    I get how they are created, like the Chiweenie, it just seems everytime I turn around, there is another mixed animal that people are breeding because it is the flavor of the week.
    Perhaps I am sensitive because our Molly was a one dog puppy mill, then abandoned by the same people that used her.
    She has been part of our family for approx 12 years, is a senior now, and is currently watching the ball game with my husband!

    Its so sad that the little dog died. It looked rather thin in the picture. When it got sick and went to the vet the first time, maybe it should have recieved more care? or even gone back to the rescue. I dont know why the plaintiff didn't send the bills and relied on the vet to, and I also don't know why the defendant didn't just contact the vet to get the bills herself. Honestly the defendant looks so hard faced and imcompassionate... the Plaintiff tried everything to save the little dog and was willing to eat the costs, I admire that. Rest in peace poor little soul.

  • @BobBlumenfeld
    @BobBlumenfeld 2 роки тому +13

    Why is it that some plaintiffs refuse to let the people who owe them money see the appropriate bills? This case may not be one of those instances, but the only rational reason that I can think of (there are some that are irrational, like spite) is that the bills don't actually reflect what the plaintiff is demanding.

    If the plantiff breached the contract that was set in place by the rescue, why was the defendant made to pay? Most rescues who do fostering have their own vet so the costs are kept down. I give a lot of credit to the defendant for having a rescue and saving dogs and for being an upstanding person saying she'd pay for the bill if she seen it. Even though at this point I don't think she should. Wait. She technically isn't. Lol

    • @peezypeeze9140
      @peezypeeze9140 2 роки тому +2

      The contract wasn’t that the plantiff was to pay the vet bills. The cost for the dog was still and always was the defendant’s responsibility. I also don’t think she signed something when she fostered all she did was fill out the adoption paperwork, so it was just a verbal agreement to foster. The defendant gave her rules to follow and she didn’t follow, but it wasn’t like she signed anything to follow them.

    • @ButtonsCasey
      @ButtonsCasey 2 роки тому +2

      @@peezypeeze9140 The contract was to take the dog to a certain veterinarian. She didn't do that. That alone is a breach of contract. And if they didn't have a contract how is the rescue responsible for the vet bills? You can't have it both ways. I bet there was a paper contract in place anyway. BTW verbal contracts are just as good as written, if they can be proven. All rescues run the same way with fosters and vet care.

    Without watching the whole case yet: if I'm watching someone else's dog, and the vet says there's a 5% chance their services could save the dying dog, I'm reaching for that 5%. I would be furious and upset if someone didn't do the same for my dog. To me, it's different if the dog isn't yours because I don't feel like I have the right to turn down that 5%. I don't have the right to say, "yeah, go ahead and give up." What if the other person would have fought for the 5% as well? Imagine how tortured they would feel in the not knowing if perhaps their dog could still be here.
    After watching: what a wild case. So unreasonable to expect someone to pay when you refuse to send the bill. Just because the vet says they emailed it doesn't mean the other person received it, I mean why else would she be asking for it? It would make me suspicious, too, but things got so nasty.
