Kate was the one that helped come up with the name for Charlie's Angels. They wanted to call it Alley Cats and then the title was changed. It was mostly her idea for the show. She was great in everything she did. I loved her on The Rookies back in the 70's.
My favorite of the angels, a real southern beauty. The best actress by a mile, didn't let fame go to her head and has aged like wine....Farrah on the other hand was the classic case of someone seeking fame, getting it so quickly and not being able to handle it....
@Richard Vervoorn - It was a joy in my career working behind the scenes on film and TV projects to be hired as the Location Manager on a CBS MOW in which Ms. Jackson starred. She was terrific. Much like the person you see on the interview featured here. I recall many people stopping to chat with her in between camera set ups. She always made the time to do so despite the serious nature of the work in which she was involved. One fan presented her with some Charlie's Angels trading cards and another a board game. She love it and spoke very highly about her former co stars and series despite staying for only 3/5 seasons. She confided in me about her fear of hospitals and several times I escorted her outside for fresh air as we shot in one for 3 days...her character ironically was a nurse. A true professional if ever there was one . I look back fondly to that movie shot in 1997. Sadly, that prediction would never come to fruition. Kate had battled breast cancer twice at this point,but six years later Farrah would succumb to cancer at the age of 62 in 2009.
They had one ‘on screen’ reunion, for sure, that comes to mind… If I remember correctly, think it was a Tribute for Aaron Spelling - (58th Emmys, 2006…) it was really an inspiring moment-and my heart breaks for Farrah, again, remembering it 💔 (and knowing how sick she probably already was) The three women walked out hand-in-hand… Beautiful as ever…& a powerful ‘Sisterhood’ moment. So far… And- knock wood- I’ve battled cancer twice, myself…. Strength, Resiliency, and Love ❤🩹 to all who battle the Cancer demon. So many things out there, trying to kill us… Duck and weave ;)✊🏼 Be well everyone ❤
A total class act! I am glad she explained the truth RE Farrah ONLY doing the first year on "Charlie's angel's" . Farrah could have at the time explained it just as Bree, I mean Kate did. It would have ended the notions she quit with a signed agreement. Farrah was black balled for years because of that bogus lawsuit. In the ended they settled on an agreement Farrah would have done regardless in making guest appearances. Farrah told "Donahue" she would have probably done more guest star appearances had they not sued her. In the end Farrah made more money on that show having ONLY done the first year and 6 guest spots then any of the other series stars including Jackie Smith who stayed the full 5 year run.
I'm a lifelong fan of Kate's. She was my role model growing up and I had the distinct honor of meeting her when I was around 13- just after Scarecrow and Mrs. King ended. . But I have to say I am confused as to why she views the Charlie's Angels films as something other than the homage and tribute it is meant to be. If the fact that they weren't in it is what she objects to, then why didn't she join in? She had to have been asked. In addition, she did a remake of the movie Topper where original cast members weren't involved. She also made Baby Boom which was taken directly from the film. I guess I'm not understanding her objections here. It seems to me those films weren't trying to take anything away from anyone. They were paying their respects.
5:20 she is saying spray on and no fat spreads are better than butter. This is totally wrong. Those spreads/ sprays are not food-stuffs no animal or insect will eat it. Its like an advert people will listen to her!

I remember watching the view back then, and Star Jones was , in my opinion, very shallow and narcissistic and probably rubbed some people the wrong way. Remember her promoting her wedding on the air to some gay guy, so she would get free stuff from the venders that she mentioned. LOL
