"I'm using the same size nozzle". Do you remember what size it was? My service company insists on using a 1.00 gal nozzle, on a 3 section weil-mcclain boiler. A small house with only one floor heated. I say that's excessive. It's the maximum size listed on the information label.
hey brother, you need to insulate your oil line.!! you can see its reacting to being in contact with the concrete floor. copper cant touch concrete. your homeowners insurance might not cover you when that line rots and dumps your oil tank on the basement floor. they usually require a protected oil line, which is nothing but a copper line encased in plastic.
The Boiler is a Slant/Finn I installed it new and it never had a blinket on the floor of the fire box. It is cast iron and full of water. Like a donut around the fire box. It was inspected and approved by a town approved service company prior to being put into service. I do like your idea of shielding the supply line. Thanks for suggesting it.
hey brother, the idea for having the insulating mat in the combustion chamber is to protect the cast iron from cracking due to possibly cold water hitting it from the return piping entering the boiler rite at the edge of the fire box when it first starts a cycle. the chamber will be red hot after just seconds of the burner running. just a little protection from the shock of the return water. all in all nice video
Yes. They are under the top cover. Extra caution should be observed when brushing the ones in the rear of the boiler. If one pushes the brush too far down the fire box insulation will be damaged.
Good job

you also need to replace the thermal blanket that should be protecting the combustion chamber floor

Clean out the fingers??

@@budget105 cool name for them… fingers
What filter do u recommend for shop vac?
There is a filter bag rated for drywall dust. That is the one I would use. The soot from the boiler is very fine.
Look like plumber putty 😅
