I am from El Salvador 🇸🇻 and many people in my country look identical to the Olmec stone heads and artifacts they left behind in Mexico and Central America. There is many people spreading a false hood that Olmecs were Africans but modern natives of Central America are their true descendants.

Did Olmecs really burn forest down and throw the ruined land away when crop went bad to burn down the next area - or is this yet another prejudiced colonialist assumption? AFAIK mesoamericans knew terra preta to keep acres fertile over generations.
