Thanks for the info. I've never had a projector before and was not sure if the Desktop UI would show or if there was a proprietary UI that linked to a media folder for example, thanks for clearing that up.
"Test Pattern" reminded me of Tron and like you said, as I was thinking it myself, it would be nice to have chosen a background image. Tron being a good one!
super awesome projector for gaming, movies and pc. its crisp. very nice, best quality and value for the price range! for long throw - optoma hd25e but this w1070 is in my opinion made of better quality but not by miles better, just a couple inches. still better tho..
Hey all Benq projectors has Beep startup sounds when you press the power button just like epson does it tells you its powering up or power off when projector is cooling you must have quick cooling on for the lamp just like sharp notevision projectors when it beeped 2 times
My projector keeps flickering repeatedly when connected with hdmi but works fine when I connect substandard cables like component and 9pin vga, is it the cable or power, unsure.
I see you use Windows but what HDMI cable did you use please, there is no official HDMI Thunderbolt option from Apple and people have complained of compatibility issues thanks?
This may be a stupid question but if i was to make my own 16:9 screen and i got the size of the width or height wrong by a few mm could i adjust the width or height of the projector?
+vIM4YH3MzIv I don't think so. With the black border you could just scale it larger than the actual white part of the screen and it'd look fine, that's what I'm doing rather than spending a bunch of time trying to keystone and adjust it correctly.
You can in some ways, as it has zoom, so in fact you can be a few cm's out, then use keystone and zoom to hit the nail. You have to make sure it is however right bang in the middle of the screen width wise, as this projector offers no horizontal keystone, only vertical. Lovely little machine, just ordered two of the new version, see how they go. However you can not adjust the ratio of width to height in anyway, no projector can do this, you then need to use projection mapping to make a bespoke aspect ratio.

I haven't seen that issue. Have you tried switching the HDMI cable?

Tony Ferber What mac are you using? My Macbook Pro has an HDMI output and I'm using HDMI cables from Monoprice.com
I have a May 2011 iMac, so at this generation they just introduced the Thunderbolt which was the same connector type I believe.
