Winner!
It's actually 3 servings, two for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 😁
"which is something I care deeply about not caring about" . chef John your the best 😁👍
You're*
Chef John will you be my grandma
Mee too thanks
Chandler F Such a silly question. Chef John is everyone’s grandma.
lmaoooo
sunchips18 end thread! You have provided the ultimate response, well done, take a bow
The "you are after all the" part of every video makes me smile a lot
For me, it's "and as always........ enjoyyyy :)"
Did no one realise that yesterday was the 11 year anniversary of this channel!
And Chef John didn't even mention it!
Trickster 357 oh wow!!!!!!
Holy crapola!!! We ❤️ you chef John.
Thank you for pointing that out. I can't believe it's been 11 years and I just subscribed a few months ago ;)
I'm looking forward to the next 11!
Thanks for notice that! It's amazing...11 year with Chef John
These are my favorite pastry! I gained 10 lbs just contemplating making a bunch.
I am French and I hate cold chocolate croissants we call chocolate bread. I always ask to warm it a few seconds in the microwave at the bakery or I wait to be at home to do it myself.
They look super yummy chef John. 😄
I prefer mine warm as well.
en effet froid c'est pas terrible!
alors? pain au chocolat ou chocolatine?
Ronan Verhulst Pour moi, pain au chocolat.
Ronan Verhulst Pain au chocolatine. Réchauffé.
“Which is something I care deeply about not caring about.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Chef John I love all the recipes you put out, my husband and I love your videos. You're the Jesus of cooking in my house!
The reason hand chopped chocolate comes out better, is because the chips are dusted in some form of powder that keeps them as separate chips, making them not as cohesive when used like that in baking
Jubei Del wow, good info
Rubbish, that's patently false.
The chocolate might have a mild bloom, which doesn’t affect it at all, but it doesn’t have starch or anything.
This could be true, it’s definitely true with preshredded cheeses, they put powder in the bags to prevent it from sticking together.
Pastry chefs HATE him. Watch this amazing video to learn the one simple trick to making your own croissant at home.
i have a small penis
please dont insult chef john by clickbaiting in the comments, thanks.
Simple trick? Or weird trick?
That's unfortunate anthony-y. After all, you are the anthony-y of your Ron Jeremy.
Minute Man definitely a weird trick.
WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME. Now it's 8pm and I want to make these right now.
Will someone please hold me!
hahahahahaha
Too late, you should've started 2 days ago !
LOL! Me too!
Who cares about sleep! Make croissants :D #worthit
i love you chef john
"Because my guests are all different sizes and shape" 😂
missing cayenne. needs cayenne to add that extra umph...
he has once said that even though you may not see him adding something, that doesnt mean that he hasnt. cayenne is in everything,
LOL
I was intending to make a similar comment, but I'll just add a like here!
Oh please don't give him ideas
BTW chocolate and cayenne match perfectly
I just wanna say I love you Chef John. Your videos always brighten my day. Thank you so much for making this channel.
Loved the Caddyshack quote "So we have that going for us, which is nice!"
I love you Chef John ! you're funny and your recipes are great !
My kiddos and I spent the day making these and hand delivered a couple to neighbors--they were perfect!! Your recipes are fail-safe and it's such a relief after investing so much time, thank you!
Omg!!!! This took me back to when I was a child and my mom would bribe me with a chocolate croissant before taking me shopping for about 12 hours. The chocolate croissant made everything worthwhile. Thank you for this recipe. Now I have a new tradition for my daughter and myself.
Not serving Pain au Chocolat warm? What? That's the best way to serve them
But these are chocolate croissants.
@@juansierralonche9864 The French name for chocolate croissants is "Pain au chocolat" , or "chocolatine" depending on who you ask.
@@feels_bad-man chocolatine gang :)
Juan Sierralonche and he also canoes them pain au chocolat...
I was seriously wondering this also! I would want it at least as little warm!
Chef...you are really the BEST of the BEST!
Chef John is my spirit animal.
We have been waiting for this one for years! THANK YOU Chef John!
You spoke to my soul when you uploaded this video
Deeply care about not caring about?... you blow my mind Chef John!
Chef John you’re such a Artistic chef 👨🏻🍳.
FINALLY! I've been waiting for chef John to post a recipe regarding Pain au Chocolat!
I love your videos! It never fails I end up watching them late at night
I love these kind of croissants!
What a delicious gift these would make!
Another home run, chef.
Always a pleasant sight opening gmail and find a new food wishes video update waiting for me. Thanks, John.

Pain Au Chocolat is about the greatest thing ever, EVER!!!
Gosh, the crust on those was beautiful! Thanks!
These are delicious, thanks John!
These r HEAVEN
As a retired cook I love your videos you're so easy to follow. Have tried quite a few of your recipes. Great cooking and baking looking forward to more delicious recipes.😎
Yes!! I always thought it was better with hard chocolate, not melted!
Thanks Chef John, you are the best chef on UA-cam! This looks so delicious.
Loving it. Thank u
I made these with store bought pastry dough. Works beautifully too.
I love your channel. You make it so easy to follow along.
Make the Argentinian version... with Dulce de Leche... there are tons of types of "Croissants" and stuff like that here that... its huge! you enter a Panaderia in Argentina and you better excercise very often, have a lot of money and a ton of self-control...
Chef, you're the coolest!!!
Very nice....now for something different.......yum....
Can we compete at eating these rather than Tide pods? #chocolatecroissantchallenge
LOL, stupid kids!
Adam it’s not actually called chocolat croissant, that’s an insult to all french😂 call them chocolatine
Tide Pods - Cleaning the laundry and the gene pool at the same time.
I want to be your taste tester. OMG. Your recipes keep me awake at night.....
Love this!!
I have been so ultimately crabby all day about everything from money to work to friends, and wanted a quick turn-around to my mood. Seriously, 6 minutes about chocolate croissants that I'll probably never make (and yes, will probably buy at Starbucks) for whatever reason was such a great escape... I don't think there is anything on all of Netflix could have such a strong effect. Thank you chef John!!!!
The video I didn't even know I was waiting for until it was here! I'm going to make these this weekend.
I made these today. Amazing! I'm taking them to work tomorrow to share.
This reminded me of when I went to France and got some pistachio and chocolate croissants... They were SOOO good!
These look great~
Good for your Heart, and Soul! ; ) TY Chef John!
this was so worth the wait
Mmmm that looks delicious am going to try it thank you for the recipe ❤️
My favorite dessert!
Yes, that amount of choc is PERFECT. It’s like the best thing about choc croissants- that little bit of bittersweet chocolate. Also I love that you sprinkled with sea salt- i love sprinkling cookies with it but would never have thought to do it on a croissant!...Shout out to your Chilewich placemat.
Watching this while eating my buttered toast wishing it was a chocolate croissant! Food Wishes indeed!
Voice inflections tho
I have to watch your old stuff to remember what my beloved chef sounded like back in the day.
Blasphemy!
Warm (fresh) pain au chocolate is heavenly. It is simply impossible and illogical that you somehow make it better by waiting for it to get old and cold.
That's a little harsh. I'm in France. Where I shop, they're made fresh every morning, but I don't like the lines, so I get mine cold. I find that 15 seconds in the microwave restores their warmth and softens the chocolate.
Yes, but he says specifically you must wait for it to be cold so that the chocolate re-solidifies. You, like most I assume, like it best warm. I also had mine fresh from the bakery when I lived in France and when I visit Germany. It was my favorite simple pleasure; a breakfast of warm, fresh bread and coffee of actual quality. Also, I am not harsh. Just hyperbolic with dry humor. ;)
:O Almond croissants next, please?
just add almonds...
Yessss
Yesssss you read my mind!
@@MrDylanHole no no my friend. You also need marzipan for the inside, for a classic almond croissant
@@Lalovision3D do you know what marzipan is?
Ils sont parfaits.!!!!!!!!
i just made the normal version of this recipe last night, great timing
Looks yummy with a little chocolate nice
Love the caddyshack reference!
My first time having a chocolate croissant as a kid is one of only a handful of "wow this is good" moments that I can still distinctly remember.
😘it looks great and delicious
Irregular polyhedron is probably close enough for the shape you were going for there. Technically that would require straight edges, but we'll just assume we are infinitely dividing any curves as needed, because I'm too lazy to go look up a formal name for a shape combining straights and curves.
Interestingly I tried to look up the formal name for a shape combining both straight edges and curves, and couldn't find much of anything definitive... Squircle, or superellipse came up, but they seem to have very concrete definitions of their curves and edges, and wouldn't define such an irregular shape. Perhaps it doesn't come up in maths or physics because each portion would be calculated separately as a segment of the whole?
I like the sound of Complex Compound Irregular Polyhedron with an Infinitely Subdividing Fractal Surface, if for no other reason than it technically means my croissants are endless and I can continue to eat them forever :)
chef John I would die for you
I started watching your videos recently....They are fantastic.I have so much catching up to do
Looks good😋😋
Hmmmm looks great, and that voice I could listen all night to you talking
I’ve been waiting so long for this
Oh lord these look good!!
But I’d like to see a video on Bruschetta!
Great job chef, they look very tasty!
Duuuude I wanna make this!
Love this Chef John :)
Deep satisfied sigh... sweet dreams are made of this.
*Homer Simpson hungry sound*
I DON'T necessarily feel lucky to be french and live in France ....until I see those vidéos and know I can go grab one at the bakery next door for few cents....thank god
Love you chef John!! Best on UA-cam
Love chocolate crossaints
Drooling!
Beautiful video chef.
I couldn't have been happier to pull these out of the oven, even if the tips had pulled back from their tucks despite my best efforts. My inner fat kid pulled a coup d'etat and I waited a whole 12 minutes before eating one. Luckily there are more to eat properly later. My house smells amazing and my tummy is happy. I don't know what it is about croissants, my gluten sensitivity has nothing to say about these. I waited so long to make these because I was intimidated by the process, but I am now aware of the input to value ratio. It's a no-brainer. MAKE THEMMMM.
Ill practice this recipe this Sunday so by the superbowl I'll master it :)
You are after all, the Mozart of your Pain au Chocolat
Yum yum yummy
I love CC 😍
WOOHOO NEW FOODWISHES!!!!!
My favourite pastry. Trying not to eat a couple with a cup of coffee every morning can be a struggle. I switch to Pain au Raisin from time to time to keep my diet in check.
And yes, eat them warm. Like croissants.
Captivating video!!! A rounded rectangle such as you had is called a stadium.
love the Caddyshack quote
très bon recette
my favorite!!!! they look yummy!!!! with a nice hot chocolate might be yumilicious!
