    I think your mews set-up is absolutely amazing Pete, and I've seen a lot of them in the last 55 years or so.

    Great little Mews/aviary. Broom handles is a good idea. I operate in the Orkney Islands and envy that you don't need everything double bolted down. Is Woody your only bird?

      Thanks, yes this is my only bird, I'm often out with my mate flying peregrine and marlins. I my get a sparrow hawk but not sure yet, I do like getting out as much as possible with this hawk so time would be difficult although sparrow hawking would be a bit earlier.
      Is it windy where you are then.
      Thanks for the comment 👍

      @@freebirdofreason1994 There was one thing I reflected on after seeing this video. You are great and I have great respect for what you are doing. Have you ever considered a heater in Mews? I have them at my very small Bird of Prey centre in the extreme north but our frosts are not severe. I got them from Bryan at Westfield Falconry, the birds just sit above them on their perch. Not trying to be a smart ass, just trying to create positive dialogue.

      @@keithausten4230 I did think briefly about some sort of heating, I didn't think it necessary at first but it is a good thought, season before last it was freezing the water in the mews froze up but i sealed the hawk in each night.
      This year it wasn't that cold although some damp nights , maybe a heater for the cold night's and sealed in.
      Harris hawks were supposed to be hardy but maybe not so.
      I may take up the heater idea, cheers

    Have you thought about putting frozen food in the tube at night and letting it thaw overnight. Then in the morning triggering it to drop in with a remote method?

    • @freebirdofreason1994
      @freebirdofreason1994  10 місяців тому

      No thas is a thought, but when food is in the tube even part way he seems to know and gets quite fired up, it might be a bit frustrating for him.
      I will give it some thought though thank you.

    When woody see you with the food or no that your going to put the food in the food shoot dose he scream at all

    • @freebirdofreason1994
      @freebirdofreason1994  10 місяців тому

      No he doesn’t scream , he will call at low weight but just a couple of times, he is silent when hunting.
      At fat weight he is completely silent.

      Great video as usual Pete, what is the hight from where Woody sits on the outside swivel perch to the ground, would you make it higher, lower or do you find it just right. Thinking of trying to make one. Cheers Pete.

      @@kilakila992kilakila2 Hi, it is 140 cm from the ground I’d say it perfect for me, a good hight and easy to pick up Woody.
