Its a clip from a Russian movie "T-34". A group of Soviet tanker POW's are given a T-343/85, supposed to be unarmed, for the Germans to train against. The Soviet crew finds a couple of live rounds in the tank when they are removing bodies from the captured tank, hide the rounds, and during the training destroy the Panthers, rampage through Poland trying to reach Soviet lines. Overall not that bad a movie. Once again the Germans are portrayed and stupid and incompetent and the Soviets as heroic supermen. The German tank commander is al least competent and honorable in the movie.
Why did the officer shoot at tank? There is evidence of riflemen and machine gunners shooting at tanks to try to hit vulnerable areas like glass viewports and periscopes. But with 9mm pistol…

I'm just amazed that things didn't break down as War Time production T-34 were notorious for breakdowns due to poor production quality and the Soviets just not heat treating many T-34 engine parts unlike what they did with the T-34's hull and turret which was overheated during the Heat treating prosses. Also, I mean it going anywhere close to its top speed is also impossible due to once again the shortage of experienced mechanics and multiple shortcuts being made meaning the drop of production quality. It's also interesting how independent they are from the Soviet supply chain as realistically, they wouldn't have been due to its sloped amour taking up a lot of space making the T-34 generally very cramped and unpleasant to be in for long periods of time meaning there were less space to store all of the stuff average Sherman or Panzer crews were able to take with them.
