I watched this video because i had to change the same exact line on a 2007 Cadillac Escalade AWD.This Yukon is rear wheel drive and its much easier to replace. On the Escalade it was very hard to remove the lines with all the extra parts for the AWD system in the way.Running the new line back in was so frustrating I almost quit.I was using ramps and jack stands to do this. It's my wifes car and she needed it in the morning to go to work,so I just kept on trying to get the damn line trough.I was doing this at night on my driveway. Finally after what seemed for ever(about an hour)I got it trough. This video helped me a lot,but just a WARNING to anybody trying to do this on an AWD vehicle,it's much harder. Thanks for the video.
Incredibly helpful video. Showing the details of the lines from front to back was HUGE. I just added the auxiliary transmission cooler to my 2010 Suburban (did not come stock). This video showed exactly where the lines run, so it took the guesswork out of the job for me. It took some time, but it's installed and works great. Thank you so much!
Great Vid! Im also interested in the cooler and the lines. I have a 2007 Escalade Esv and i checked on Amazon link in your bio and the lines also fit my truck. Question: Do you know the part number for the cooler itself? I will purchase the lines off Amazon but want to make sure i have the right cooler itself. Thank you and ill keep watching.
If you have a front differential, drop the right side nuts and lower control arm to shock bolts. This will get you just enough slack to get the longer cooler pipe up through the hole in bumper.
Just a heads up. There are two hose types from the Trans to cooler. Denali tow package (heavy duty version?) and denali regular. I have the tow haul mode, hitch, trailer connector, so I figured I had the tow model. Wrong! LoL Maybe the tow model has an integrated brake control and tow mirrors? Anyway thanks for the video.
On the AWD Denali, I would suggest removing the front bumper completely, its not that hard and makes things much easier. As the drive line and front axle make it harder.
How did you get new line started in opening? Your video just skips that moment! I cant get enough slack to get longer line feed through that little opening. Did you remove sway bar or something else for more clearance?
for real that is really the HARD part. just did this job on a escalade. Finally after swinging like an ape and throwing VooDoo bones, it went in there. Thanks for nothing.
😂right....that's where I need the most example n he just showed it already in like it was a breeze....I'm on day no. 2 trying to get that line up in there
Thanks for the how-to. Mine are also shot so I'll need to replace them. But I'm not going to take my time getting the old ones out, just cut them in 2-3 spots to make it easier. Getting the new ones in on an AWD Denali sounds like it's a PITA.
Funky Tape what do you mean by cutting them lines in 2-3 spots to save time? How do i do that? Mines are shot too and started to leak little heavier lately but i dont wanna go thru the whole proccess of replacing them.
@@dabossfraga9493 The hose material GM used for the flex parts of the line is garbage. I replaced it with 30R9 fuel injection hose and worm drive stainless hose clamps, and it is bone dry. In fact, I am replacing the lines due to rust now - and I will cut the new hoses off and clamp my 30R9 ones to the new lines.
@@dabossfraga9493 Glad to help! I carefully cut the crimp sleeves and took the new hoses off the line assembly and it was a breeze to install. Then I clamped my existing hoses to the new lines, and made sure all of the clips were secure. Very easy job. The lines have little barbs to help the hose grip, and with a small worm drive stainless clamp it is leak-free & tidy.
My 2007 Hummer H2 trans guage is going up and down on cold start. The fluid temperature is like 190-210.. the guage is acting crazy. I replaced the temperature switch.. it’s still doing it. What do you think?
What was the problem so you decided to change this cooler line, I have my 2500hd sierra and the transmission temp is always increasing from the engine start. Once it reach 100deg C the engine check light on and the transmission temp still increasing until 138deg C. When I check with the OBD scan it shows U0101 code which is TCM connection lost. I am assuming that the cooler is not functioning in my car. how to check that I need to change the cooler line or I need to change the solenoid inside the transmission before i do some unnecessary step. thx
Does this cause the vehicle not to drive asking because someone has one for sell and says it needs to be towed . I know I shouldn't buy a car that needs towed but if that is just the problem it would be a good deal but man I don't want to get ripped off its a 2008 Denali
The purpose is to maintain the correct transmission fluid temperature. In super hot climates and towing, the radiator cooler isn't enough to cool the transmission. So the added cooler is required. But the transmission fluid can get too cold If it passed only through a cooler out front and back to the transmission. The fluid could gets too cold during winter, causing the transmission to not function properly. By running fluid through the radiator, the fluid will always be at least the operating temperature of the engine which is perfectly fine for the transmission.
I got a easier way to get the long line back in there fellas......just cut out the plastic where that line feeds thru.... GM should've done it themselves but it workd perfectly....no more struggle
Fast reply! My 08 Denali Yukon is leaking bad. I'm not sure I'll replace the lines. I'll probably do a custom TrueCool 40k setup like my old Yukon. Your vid was great to show where the stock lines go! Subscribed!

Such a great video. I thought about paying someone but going to do it myself with a bit more confidence after watching your video

Thanks for a great video. What is the torque spec for the 13mm bolt on side of the transmission? Thanks.
great video and tips to!!! thank you for taking the time to do this video!

Thanks for the great how-to! Is it the same procedure and part # for a '07 Suburban 1500 w. the 5.3l ?

Ric Denali thank you!
Sure is a lot of room down there without the front axle!
for real, just for a cooler line, you have to do all of this, looking forward to do this on my explorer
Great video
hello. you showed the connections are at on the 1.trans 2 oil cooler 3. radiator, where do is the 4 location?
Thank You, Brian.
Thank you for watching!
Wheres the front diff at did u take it out????
So you don't have to pull the motor mount like you do on the engine cooling lines! Good!!!
Would this be the same on a 2008 Escalade with the 6.2L AWD?

Mostly leaking in the cooler lines that ends up to replace them
Hi how long did this job take
hi sir why you replace cooler line? any problem ? please tell me
Anowar Hussain leaking at the clamps
Just did my 4x4 Tahoe. Pain in the ass. I cheated and cut the plastic under cooler in front. Seemed to help alot.
Jason Hill it is a pain. Thank you for watching!
I would have taking the grill off as this is what i did and it went way faster but good video

Did you remove the transmission oil to change the lines
No I did not. If you think your vehicle is due for service it would be a good time to do it.
Was installing a trans cooler. Engine was warm. And when i disconnected return line, small amounts of coolant trickled out. Is this normal?
Alx FiveOnine if it ran out of the transmission cooler than I would say no that is not normal and the cooler is most likely the problem
Question do any of these lines carry water?
David Pena no only transmission fluid or engine oil.Depending on which line are talking about
Awesome job 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Good vid
Tee Jay thank you and thank you for watching!
Ok we’re doing this now and we lost the horseshoe clip and we’re having trouble finding the part number for it or a hood pic of it to buy a new one
How do u pour transmission fluid when u are done?
Cesar Lascaster you fill it through the dipstick tube. So you remove the stick put a skinny funnel in the tube and Fill it there.
Somebody time me this was a easy fix shit seems like he replacing the engine in this dam video
How do you get to the back of the lower cooler line on a 01gmc Jimmy
Jamaree Henson that hard to tell with out seeing it
Are you located in PA
Jamaree Henson I’m in San Diego
my 2010 yukon has no cooler behind the grill🤔🤔?
I'm surprised by that transmission had two coolers, by radiator and cooler fins. Why two? I believe radiator is sufficient to cool the fluid
Josh Benney if you buy the Yukon Denali with the 6.0 it's part of the tow package.
The purpose is to maintain the correct transmission fluid temperature. In super hot climates and towing, the radiator cooler isn't enough to cool the transmission. So the added cooler is required. By running fluid through the radiator, the fluid will always be at least the operating temperature of the engine which is perfectly fine for the transmission.
That’s different than my 2009
If it's two lines why you have to disconnect 4 ends from the cooler
replace all lines. But I feel he should have taped the ends to keep dirt out of lines. That way it doesn't enter the system.
I got a easier way to get the long line back in there fellas......just cut out the plastic where that line feeds thru.... GM should've done it themselves but it workd perfectly....no more struggle
Why GM put such a big engine in this suv!!! wow
STEEVE DAVID Nicolas the Dinali is considered the high-end model so they put the big engine in it.
Why not? The 6.2 is great. Who wants a v6 Large Suv?
Great video

How to Automotive Well the parts on my shelf are for a ctsv supercharger ;-)
