That’s something I always point out as well. Full disclaimer I’m a big fan of Darwin, say whatever you will but I love watching him play. The thing that Darwin has going for him is even when the goals aren’t coming his work rate is always top tier. Neither Trent nor Darwin are producing what they should given their positions (goals and dog defense) but at least with Darwin the effort is there, I hate to say it but Trent has looked borderline lazy at times.

Been saying it for ages. Bradley still offers something going forward but is far ahead in the defensive side of the game. He might not play that killer ball, but he wont get caught out as much and if he does, he'll bust a nut to get back.

This isn't a new thing. I've supported Liverpool since the 1980's and Trent is one of the most frustrating players I've ever seen. Has real moments of genius and magic but it almost feels like he sees himself as too good to be a RB. He started his youth career as a CM. But he didn't want to chase the ball, so dropped to RB. Issue is he always wants to make it "The Trent Show", he's always had others to back him up when he's out of position. Henderson did so much work for Trent and it showed when Hendo left the frailties of Trent's game. No world class player needs others to cover their mess all the damn time.

Bradley has just come back from injury I think the reason Trent was left on for so long was because Bradley was only supposed to be playing a certain amount of minutes. Slot seems to take injury returns very seriously and doesn't want Bradley reinjured over reacting to a single game we were drawing. i mean if he had reacted and put Bradley on earlier and he got reinjured we would have no choice but to play Trent for all upcoming matches which at the moment given that Trent performance feels a lot worse.

When Van Dijk had an off season he was still a defensive leader with his head at the right place what he lacked was individual ability at the time . Trent now not only lacked individually but the way Van Dijk starred him off looked like Virgil knew how lost in his day dreaming Trent was almost like " hey Trent you aint running now ? you too good for us to run and defend ? ". This isn't a new thing. I've supported Liverpool since the 1980's and Trent is one of the most frustrating players I've ever seen. Has real moments of genius and magic but it almost feels like he sees himself as too good to be a RB. He started his youth career as a CM. But he didn't want to chase the ball, so dropped to RB. Issue is he always wants to make it "The Trent Show", he's always had others to back him up when he's out of position. Henderson did so much work for Trent and it showed when Hendo left the frailties of Trent's game. No world class player needs others to cover their mess all the damn time.
