The only evidence I could find of more than one team from a city entering the competition was when the rule was TEMPORARILY lifted in the 61/62 season when Edinburgh, Milan and Barcelona sent two teams each. It wasn’t until the UEFA Cup was established in the early 70s when clubs from the same city could compete. Newcastle were only in the competition in 68/69 (the year they won it) because Chelsea and Liverpool qualified at the expense of Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham even though all three of those sides finished ahead of 10th placed Newcastle.

so the question is do the UCL level players
a) want to stay in the EPL the best league in the world and richest; but always transfer to team who grantee UCL every year (which 1of2) in EPL, or
B) including the other big 6 Euro Teams at the moment (Bayern, Dortmund, PSG?, Real, Madrid & ?) and those who alway qualify, would those players who miss 1pr2 of every 5 years because of EPL Competition stay with their club, or
c) transfer to those clubs or any team if it can offer UCL regularly, but nothing else (ie PSG)

Newcastle’s first 11 are actually really good, and they’re in peak form. Arsenal are slightly out of form. I think you think Arsenal are better than they are. Due to the Man city dramatic collapse, there’s actually very little difference in quality between most of the premier league teams.

Whilst I find arsenals ‘plight’, if you wannna call a team second in the league that, most amusing. The accusations levelled against them for not signing an ‘elite’ striker can be stuck against every club in this country bar Newcastle and city. Liverpool are ripping up all before them without an elite CF. The main issue for everyone else is the lack of elite CFs out there. Newcastle paid 65m on the chance that isak could do it. He came sociedad so he wasn’t bought as a sure thing elite CF. Scratch around Europe there arent many sure things at CF. Barca wanted one and had to sign an aged lewandowski, Bayern had to sign a Harry Kane that is far nearer the end of his career than they would have ideally liked.
