- I know I messed up but here's what I dug up on XG after reading a bit more about them. My apologies for being ignorant and not noticing I was reacting a group and not a single individual. These women are Japanese, not Korean. Again, my sincerest apologies for the mess up:

So true. Even for us older Gen X listeners…..there is amazing music outside the USA.
They are a group of 7 "Xtraordinary Girls" from Japan but operate out of Korea. They are exceptional rappers, singers, and dancers. They are not considered k-pop but "X-pop" instead since they dive into many different genres such as R&B, rap, pop, house, edm and all their titles tracks are in English. Their lore is that they are "Galactic Wolves" traveling the galaxy conquering planets. The fandom is called ALPHAZ and we're part of the collective wolf pack. 🐺🐺🐺🐺

Alphaz has arrived!! I'm sure you'll be corrected a zillion times but XG is *not* KPOP :) These 7 ladies are originally from Japan - they moved to and work out of Korea but they consider themselves XPOP because they are aiming for global dominance and their songs are considerably more western than most K-POP. The ladies used to rap tri-language but have decided recently to rap and sing in English only. They are making waves not only in the rap genre but also in hip-hop and dance as well as they are masters at all three. I'm in my mid 40's and I'm excited to be seeing them live next month! P.S. "Howling" will blow you away too :)

I love this group. Xg is absolutley amazing. Fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Hard rap, fire vocals and insane dancing. You'll be an Alpha in no time. There's alot to explore on the Kpop scene. I got in to it recentley myself and I can promise you a awsome musicjourney.

They don't have to be Korean to sing kpop music just fyi. Just look at Katseye, and every artist who is not Korean that are in kpop. Just don't want anyone new to kpop thinking everyone is Korean in that industry. However singing in the Korean language is what defines kpop music.

Just a friendly disclaimer, many KPOP songs have English titles to the songs, but mix in Korean and English lyrics in throughout the song. So if you ever check out any KPOP, make sure you keep the subtitles on. (Although I’ve found a lot of the lyrics can be corny through translation/need to rhyme scheme, but at least you’ll know what they are saying)! Excited for this XG journey for you!!
