Some say this film's overrated and I get it, but I still like it. The music's great, the animation's gorgeous, I like Anna and Kristoff's dynamic, and Olaf is pretty funny.
I feel like it was just way too over - merchandised (if that's a word) when it came out. At least it feels that way.
it aint overated its to me the last good movie disney made everthing after it is either ok or just not good
just because its a good movie they say its "overrated" to me I think its just a fantaastic movie. Its these kid's "Lion King" which was just as equally popular. Its properly rated in my opinion.
In my opinion Olaf is Josh Gad's 2nd best character, that isn't creepy or plain weird. He's just funny and dumb lol
I love the singing for the introduction of the movie
PS. A friend I had as a kid hated this movie for some reason, I think she said it was all the singing, making it basically a musical but I don't care about that, I just love the music in this. She was also not a very good friend, so I'm glad we haven't seen each other since I moved from that area
@DanGamingFan2406 overrated how...?besides animation, music, acting - the story of two opposite extreme resuIts of isoIation and emotionaI starvation. the story of "it gets worse if you get upset", wrong parenting that teaches us to bottle up and hide emotions. It's basically the Inside Out movie, but from the outside. Two sisters, one stiff, scared, frozen, antisociaI,and the other one so cIumsy bcs she
never went to any sociaI event, trusting desperately anyone she meets. real commentary on mentaI heaIth issues. and the parents didn't mean to mess them up, they just made mistakes...
"Watching Frozen (2013) FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER"
I see what you did there, my guy 😉👌
Also, the scene with Elsa in her room after their parents passed makes me cry. The animators did such a great job in expressing how shattered Elsa feels and all while having to deal with it completely alone. Where Anna was probably consoled by staff, maybe even hugged by close staff, Elsa feels like a freak and she’s too scared to touch anyone or let people near. She was truly alone and isolated and forced to deal with that loss by herself all while harboring the feeling of things being her fault because that’s what her father, especially, made her believe. The conceal don’t feel line is just such bs coming from a parent. Historically, what he did to Elsa is what parents back in the Victorian era-ish (give it take) did to kids with physical or neurodevelopmental disabilities. They’d literally hide them away in a room or put them in institutions. Obviously they didn’t know what we know now, but it was still cruel.
@@ravenm6443 totally agree. Plus look how fast Elsa learned to control her powers when using them again. They should have at least told Anna that Elsa had powers and at that age it was dangerous to play with. I feel like being locked up would be what makes the powers worse tbh. I so wish Anna’s memories weren’t taken away
@@lilybethkuhn9650 for real! It seemed like the much better and easier solution that would have resulted in the least amount of mental and emotional pain. Of course then we wouldn’t have had a movie and it would have been over in like 15 minutes 😂
It’s crazy how big of a phenomenon this movie was. Let it Go dominated the charts and every time in elementary school someone were to sing it, they would be told to shut up. Takes me back to late 2013-early 2014.
Frozen has pretty good songs, excellent animation, the characters were very likable too., and the relationship between Anna and Elsa was great and it feels like a sister to sister relationship.
Let It Go was such a big hit that Idina Menzel has since put out a couple of albums.
I love her singing voice.
"..... elementary school when this came out..."
You are younger than I thought lol....
Frozen has some of the catchiest Disney songs! I can't get enough of "Let It Go" and "For the First Time In Forever."
That moment when you realize Olafs speech about love is even MORE foreshadowing to what the act of true love turned put to be.
"Putting someone else's needs above your own." = Elsa willingly shutting herself away for years AND running away from Anna at just the fear of hurting her again. Anna chasing after her anyway REFUSING to let Elsa do so, because despite everything, she still loves her.
And just as the cherry on top: The speech came from Olaf himself, the literal embodiment of their love.
at 9:24 you can see rapunzel and flynn walking
I just realized something
In the “love is an open door” number Hans says he’s been searching his whole life to find his own place and gestures to the city in the background which hints the twist later in the movie
A lot of Josh Gads lines were improvised.
And by that I mean: They'd tell him what's going on in the scene, and/or have a character speak, and Josh would just respond as Olaf.
The advertisements when this first came out featured Hans so super heavily as the prince in the story, it was a great twist.
To be honest, it’s really hard for anyone to have not heard of this movie, giving how acclaimed it was worldwide. I remember seeing as a little kid and absolutely loving every bit of it :D I also remember how often it would get sold out in theaters, as I was really disappointed when I couldn’t rewatch the movie lol
Starring Idina Menzel as the voice of Elsa, Kristen Bell as the voice of Anna, and Josh Gad as the voice of Olaf.
The white streak in Anna’s hair always reminds me of Rouge from the X-Men.
This movie has become a classic!! Always makes me cry
I'm sure others have spoken about this before by others but Anna wanting to meet someone fall in love and be proposed to all in a day in terms of the story makes more sense here, however unwise it is, than in other Disney Princesses films, because she knows the gates are only being opened for a day. She has no idea when the next day the gates would be allowed to be open again. So she feels this may be her only chance to have some who would be allowed to be a loving companion for her that would be allowed to stay with her. The song "Do you wanna build a snowman?" Lightens up just how dark and lonely these passing years would have been for both sisters. Though everything seemed to go badly for a while, it needed to happen or else they may have had to spend the rest of their lives as they had spent the previous ones. Alone, never seeing anyone.
I remember hearing "Let it Go" everywhere after the film premiered, it was a total craze. I loved Elsa and Anna slowly becoming close again as sisters.
yeah, Let it go definitely was everywhere among the other girls, I used to sing it almost always jajaja
If there's one thing that I loved the most about this movie is how it focused on sisterly love more than romance, even though that was there too.
We are happy to have you back Nick. 😃😃😃
It's curious Nick, as a child, I also thought the kiss of Anna and Hans wasn't just going to work, not that Hans was going to betray her and was the villain all along.
You said Anna's voice is amazing. Well, remember when you watched Burlesque? The mean girl who cut the music during the performance? She voices Anna, her name is Kristen Bell.
I love Frozen. Love is an open door, Summer and Let it go are my favorite songs. Elsa got some incredible ice powers

Me too,
I was 15 when the movie came out and Frozen has remained one of my top favorite Disney movies. The songs, the storyline, the animation & the message it gives audiences.
I was 23 and saw it in theaters. Elsa’s song literally gave me chills and freakin Hans and what he told Anna made me so angry!!! It was just such a cold heartless line! But I love this film and I love the 2nd one just as much!
“FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER” nice Nick! Nice!
The act of true love being sister love was perfect.
Fun facts: Rapunzel and Eugene can be seen walking towards the castle when they open up the gates, and when Kristoff and Olaf wait outside Elsa’s castle, exactly 60 seconds later Olaf comes inside 😁
I absolutely love that they didn't go the romantic love route with this one. That is... honestly kind of overdone, and having love between sisters be what saves the day is a wonderful change of pace. It's a great movie, and (as you know by now) so is the second one!
The first is way better than the second
I still remember watching Frozen three times on the big screen because it was really good imo. To me, Frozen was reminiscent of the films from the Renaissance era(despite not being 2D animated), a real return to form Disney film imo.
11:12 For the first time in forever, Anna was noticed by someone.
The lesson at the end was "Fear freezes, love thaws." Elsa loves her sister, therefore talking to her wasn't triggering her powers.
But she was still so scared of hurting Anna again, she couldn't see it!
Snacks ready! You'll love this one!😁
I remember the time when "Let It Go" was EVERYWHERE. It was Heaven for my ears.
Idina Menzel did such an amazing job in this movie. Everyone did
i really appreciate how you worded the title

Cool thing about Marshmallow and Olaf: They're a reverse of Iduna and Agnar.... Marshmallow, the girl, is a strong protector for Elsa in a way that Iduna never was.... and Olaf loves, and accepts Elsa, powers and all, in a way that Agnar never did.
Definitely watch the 2nd one. It explains a lot! Plus the music is incredible!
🎶 Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway 🎶
I love this song!
Super excited to see you react to this! Hope you’re well.
Better reaction from King Agnar and Queen Iduna when they see Elsa crying over her sister's unconscious, freezing body....
Elsa, what happened?
Elsa: It was an *accident!*
I know, Elsa.... What I *want* to know, is how this occurred, so we can rectify it. Don't worry, Elsa... Accidents happen from time to time. You'll get better at controlling your magic with time. In the meantime, though, we'd probably better get Anna some help. When she wakes up, though, we'll need to have a family meeting to discuss some "ground rules" dealing with your magic. For one, when you say, "Stop; slow down," Anna *does so.*
Nick thank you for this reaction! You’ve probably heard in the original draft, Elsa was meant to be a sympathized villain, but here’s another fun fact. Frozen was based on the fairytale The Snow Queen written by Hans Christian Andersen, the same author who wrote The Little Mermaid. One of the reasons Idina Menzel was the perfect Elsa was because she originated the role of Elphaba from the musical Wicked which is the origin of the Wicked Witch of the West. The first part of the film adaption of Wicked comes out in November, which I highly recommend for you to go see. Both of the characters are very similar for they are born with magic powers they don’t know how to wield. They both attempt to use with good intentions, but fear of losing control and how society would view them. Also Idina crushes it in both songs “Defying Gravity” and “Let It Go”. I can’t wait for your reaction to Frozen 2!
👩🏻🦳👩🏻🦰❤️🔥❄️🌨☃️
So glad you chose to revisit this one, it’s truly a modern classic and there’s a reason it became so prevalent in pop culture for a while when it came out!
Ah! The singing voices t the beginning give me such nostalgia! I love this movie!
My little sister loved frozen when we were young, the songs are good and two actors I love voiced in this ❤❤
Nick you mentioned being genuine with your reaction. I just wanted to say that your genuine reactions are why i watch thie channel even if i dislike reaction channels overall. This is the only channel (that ive personally seen) that doesjt fake reactions or pretend to not have seen something. Keep up the awesome work
Santino Fontana provides the voice for Hans.
In Once Upon a Time, Kristoff is played by Scott Michael Foster.
Both were series regulars in Crazy ex girlfriend.
32:50 i agree they threw their own queen in the dungeon. It's like after Elsa's powers are revealed and she ran away in her people's eyes she forfeited her birthright as queen which is why that guy told hans if anything happens to Anna he's all arrendelle has left.
My favorite part of let it go scene is the instrumental scene/solo of the glass castle growing
Just wait until you see Frozen Fever and Olaf's Frozen Adventure, they're great too
For a brief second you can see rapunzel and Flynn in first time in forever song
9:22
There’s actually an Easter egg in this scene. As Anna is walking through the crowd of people while singing the start of the chorus, you can actually Flynn Rider and Rapunzel from Tangled walking through the crowd.
Rapunzel and Eugine make a cameo in this movie
This was one of the first Disney Princess movies I saw in theaters and I remember distinctly being impressed by how catchy the songs are. I could not stop humming the summer song
Frozen is definetely one of the best Disney classics, everything about this movie is amazing and the sisterly bond between Anna and Elsa is portrayed really good.
Fun fact, Elsa's ice palace shifts into different colors according to Elsa's mood: when she feels good it's blue, when she's stresses it becomes red and ice thorns grow, when she's scared it becomes yellow.
i was in high school when this came out 😆 i remember watching it in my freshman year of college
@JuanEnriqueFloresJr i'm okay ?
@JuanEnriqueFloresJr lol what other person? my comment didn't have any replies besides yours 😆
I absolutely love Frozen so much! First watched it back in high school and now I’m friends with a few buds that worked on the films and it’s not stopping anytime soon with Frozen III and IV.
this is such a real commentary on mentaI heaIth issues. and the parents didn't mean to mess them up, they just made mistakes... Hans - the twist - is part of Anna's journey. she is so starved for affection, so cIumsy because she
never went to any sociaI event, she is so trusting desperately letting in anyone she meets...it
is the story of two opposite extreme resuIts of isoIation and emotionaI starvation. the story of "it gets worse if you get upset", wrong parenting that teaches us to bottle up and hide emotions. It's basically the Inside Out movie, but from the outside. Two sisters, one stiff, scared, frozen, antisociaI,and the other one so desperate.
I was in elementary school when Frozen came out too, twining 😂
@JuanEnriqueFloresJrI’m doing good
Me three
I was only 8 years old when the movie came out!
I don't know if you noticed, Nick, but Rapunzel and Flynn actually make a cameo in the movie. Watch very closely when Anna runs outside during the end of For the First Time in Forever, just before she meets Hans. They only appear for a few seconds, but Rapunzel's hair should give it away.
Also, try saying Hans Kristoff Anna Sven in that order. Hans Christen Anderson is the one who wrote The Snow Queen, a.k.a what Frozen is based on.
I saw this one cover of "Love is an Open Door" and the ending caught me by surprise because instead of "Yes!" The girl said "FRICK NO!" Lmao
I love how Olaf calls Kristoff "a funny looking donkey" and ends up calling him Sven too
Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) was severely underutilized in this singing wise. (He went on to be King George in a Hamilton)
Frozen is the first Disney animated film to win at the Academy Awards since Tarzan back in 1999. Both won Best Original Song. But as an added bonus, Frozen won Best Animated Feature. A first in Disney’s history.
Let It Go is the Best Disney Song In Disney History!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
My biggest wish is that the musical team for the franchise got to work on other Disney musicals. They were going to work on "Gigantic" before it got scrapped.
I have some movie suggestions:
- Apollo 13 (1995)
- Legends of the Fall (1994
- Young Woman and the Sea (2024)
- Braveheart (1995)
- Superbad (2007)
- Bottoms (2023)
- Booksmart (2019)
- Team America World Police (2004)
- Last of the Mohicans (1992)
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003
YESSSS!!! I love this movie!!!
I'm glad you reacted to this to refresh your impression of it (especially since you did forget many huge points!) especially since I think you said you were going to react to Frozen 2!
If you pay attention to detail hans' true nature is foreshadowed in a lot of scenes like during Love is an Open door when he says he's been searching to find his own place he points to arendelle foreshadow when he wants to rule the Kingdom and when Anna leaves him in charge he looks happy despite protesting a moment ago. And I've even been told in this scene 32:30 he didn't actually save her like I ever thought he did that he meant for the chandelier to fall on her if that's true I wonder why he didn't just let the guards kill her in the first place the only reason anyone had any reason to not harm Elsa is that they didn't know for sure killing her would have stopped the winter.
Did you know that tangled and frozen are connected I did see Rapunzel and Flynn went to Elsa coronation and Hans said he has 12 brothers and i realize that 2 of Hans brothers are the stabbington twins because they have the same red hair and sideburns that means they are connected
31:49 Wow he turned in ice Godzilla 😂
This film came out when I was 6 now I’m 17
Elsa created Olaf during the Let it Go song, you can see him in one part of a song. She probably though of building him as a child while doing so, though :)
The first time I saw this, I remember thinking that Olaf melting would be the act of true love. But sisterly love works too I guess 🤣
The last time I watched this movie was in January this year because it was snowing a lot which I thought would be the perfect occasion, and I absolutely enjoyed it even the sequel, it’s very understandable why this movie made a bunch of money.
Fun fact: In the original concept for the movie, Elsa was supposed to be the villain.
damm 😐
Yeah thank you nick for having that grossest out reaction same here 😂🤢7:24
Nick, if you haven’t watched the show Once Upon A Time, I really think you’d like it! It has a lot of fairytale stories, Disney and others, interwoven in giant plots. If you haven’t seen it, perhaps you could do reaction videos to those?
Awesome reaction of my favorite Disney movie!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
I wrote a fanfiction where I wrote this with the Mario Brothers, called Fireproof!
I wanted to show how the story would change if it was them.
Its under ICanSingNoRequiem, on Ao3.
Come say hi!
My favorite song in frozen is the The beginning one I believe it’s “Frozen heart”, “Loves is an open doors” and “summer”
Be sure to watch the other Frozen shorts, such as, Frozen fever, Olaf’s frozen adventure, and Once upon a snowman and, Olaf Presents. Watch Olaf presents after frozen 2.
This was very funny 😆
For as much as the film gets made fun of nowadays, I do genuinely enjoy this film. Let it Go especially it's honestly one of my favorite sequences in any animated film because of both a great song and the beautiful animation on Elsa's castle and her dress.
have you looked into movies by Cartoon Saloon like "The Secret of Kells", "Wolfwalkers", and "Song of the Sea"?
When you watch frozen 2 there’s a post credit scene
To this day, there is only one issue I have with this, and it's that even after hearing one explanation after the next, I still don't buy Hans as a villain. It still feels like a last-minute decision. I legit feel like the twist they pulled with Edward in Enchanted would have worked a lot better.
But seriously, it's just always great to see positive videos about this film. I know there are plenty out there, but the number of 'Frozen sucks' videos is kind of mind-numbing.
Ya know I have always imagined that Elsa really needed help from someone like PROFESSOR XAVER from X-Men! I know he definitely would've helped her with her powers like all the others. Also that Anna is a very stubborn girl at most times.
Great reaction Nick, can't wait for you to react to Frozen 2 next!
For me I can just appreciate how dark this movie gets they get so close to killing in the movie without killing and u don't really see that in the modern Disney movies where the original and older ones they are ok with killing and killing on screen
Sorry I’m so late on this video Nick! But so glad you enjoyed it! Can’t wait for you to watch the second one😊
I remember as a little girl I was in foundation I think I was 5 years old but I was so obsessed with this movie and even though Let it Go was my favourite song in the movie but my favourite character has always been Anna as a little girl.
I went to see the second movie I think it was the day after or before my 13th birthday my dad took me to see the movie and that’s what got me back into the movie and then I went to see the musical in London. Even though it would be amazing to be Elsa but I think I’ll be better as Anna because she’s a funny character and I’m really good at playing fun characters.
But that’s not making me give up on dreaming of playing Elphaba
(The Wicked Witch of the West from the wizard of Oz) in Wicked
(Who was originally played by Idina Menzel who was the voice of Elsa in The movie)
but at the same time I think it’s not gonna happen
9:23 in this part if you look closely around this scene you will see Flynn and Repunzel in this scene if only nick didn’t block it
If I was Elsa as a kid, I would have made a slide for Anna to come back down when she jumped
The second one is amazing ❤
Love your reactions
Let’s gooo💗
Allegedly Elsa was meant to be the villain like in the story the snow queen. However once the producers heard Let It Go, they changed it completely.
If you liked this one, then you should check out Frozen 2!
Very fantastic music.
I highly suggest the emotional movie Radio starring Ed Harris & Cuba Gooding Jr.
Yes!! I was wondering when you’d react to this!
